The Richmond Bar, Portland OR

0/10 service. The bar tender was rude, didn’t know the drinks, tried to demean/embarrass me when I asked if they could make a specific drink (a Corkscrew, not too fancy at all), then proceeded to spend far too long looking up the recipe just to insult me again when they didn’t have one of the ingredients after I had already changed my order to a screwdriver when he pushed back against me asking for the drink in the first place. And the screwdriver he did make was god awful, so either he’s horrible at his job (not knowing cocktails, horrible communication, bad at making one of the easiest drinks possible imo) OR he gave me a bad drink out of spite. Either way it’s bad form. He wasn’t only rude to me, but he was quick to anger with others as well, and given the size of his pupils, irritability, and general twitchiness, I would say he was on something during his shift. The rest of the venue was absolutely lovely and the rest of the staff seemed composed and attentive. I suggest they get someone to replace blondy on busy nights since he can’t take the heat or remain professional and respectful.

This place is all about dark, sultry warmth and it delivers. Bar staff was friendly and attentive even on a Saturday night. Lady Killer cocktail was perfectly balanced. Shoestring fries are probably the best version of those I've had, as is the house made ketchup that comes with them.

Echo the other reviews, be ready for bad vibes if you are not white. Mediocre food, bad cocktails, high prices- skip this place.

The bar had a great lineup of draft beer and the BEST Mac & Cheese I have ever had (the caramelized onions sealed the deal)! The Wedge Salad was spectacular! It’s pretty noisy and we’re a quiet couple but we definitely recommend this place!

This is my local watering hole and i am so happy that it is. I adore this spot. The drinks are great, the tap list is always interesting, and the food is really good, and very reasonable.

Reliable. This bar is always welcoming and the drinks come fast and are delicious. Do not hesitate to order food from the kitchen because it’s very good. Sneak to the back patio—it’s inviting and always nice to see the Japanese Red Maple in Spring and Summer. This is my go-to for a day/night out with friends and family.

Super fun bar with a firepit in a protected area around back. Very cozy and great drinks. The Mac and Cheese is also top teir. They introduced me to Orange Cider they had on tap and it is fantastic!

My favorite bar on Div. Great bartenders, even when they're busy they always seem to make the most of it and push out great drinks with a smile. Also, who is the DJ? The music playing here is absolutely amazing.

This is one of my favorite places to go when I am visiting friends in Portland. Their drinks are great, food is delicious (I always get their wedge salad, mac and cheese and fries) and it's a neat atmosphere. I really like their outdoor patio seating area, the heat lamps and fire pit make it extra cozy! Definitely check this place out if you want to meet up some friends for a drink or a snack! Also prices are very reasonable!

Great place for some outdoor happy our drinks. The heaters made it great with the cold weather.

One of the best burgers in Portland. Great atmosphere excellent service. Perfect date spot. Low key dark vibes. If I drank I would drink there.

They make a pretty darned good old fashioned! I had a burger and fries: the pickled onions and pickled - well - pickles on the side were a great addition. Bartender and staff were all very knowledgeable and helpful.

Excellent service, fantastic and creative cocktail menu, comfortable interior seating area, and the food was great! Can't wait to go back.

If you're black or someone of color you, voicing a concern is mute here. Beware they will take your money and give you no respect.

This place is great! Come during the tail end of the week or the weekend for the best food quality. We’ve been coming here weekly and it’s been nothing short of amazing until we came on a Tuesday for dinner and it was still pretty good but the burger was bland and lacked seasoning. Every other time has been magical! The music is usually chill too and there’s a non smoking patio in the back:)
