3 This is a fantastic shop to visit when you’re in Vernonia.
The owner is extremely friendly. There are so many different rooms to check out. All the things are thoughtfully picked out for the store.
I am definitely looking forward to visiting them again. Everything is very reasonably priced.
If you are in Vernonia, I would definitely recommend stopping at the shop. There is something for everyone.
The Rusty Nail feels like a museum and is as quiet as a library, in stark contrast to boisterous energy of Penney Lane Antiques just down the street, but it is in no way lessened by this comparison. Elmer, one of its two proprietors (and the only one we met), greeted us warmly upon our entry, and informed us of its layout and encouraged us to explore at our leisure.
Every chamber or passage has a different vibe or aesthetic to it, the wares within tailored to jibe with the theme: media, books, home goods, yard and garden, collectibles, etc. Like all good antique and vintage retailers, the fun is in the hunt, the search, the joy of exploration and discovery, and the Rusty Nail has no shortage of little treasures waiting to be appraised, admired and acquired. Very recommended for collectors and bargain hunters passing though Vernonia!
A fun antique store in Vernonia. The shop attendant was friendly and welcoming. 11 rooms and a patio worth of treasures of all sorts. Lots of furniture and home decor to look at.
