Many have written at length about The Salmonberry. I will try to say something different here. I've always enjoyed my experience and consider this one of my favorite restaurants on the coast. My experience varies some with each visit and I've learned to expect and accept that. You have to "roll with it" here as a lot of how you're served is different than you may expect, starting with the line at the door to place your order and how menu items often sell out quickly. It just may be a pizza night, and that will prove to be fine. Your food will be served quickly and be very good. Though the bartenders are highly competent, the bar offerings are surprisingly limited. A good attitude will serve you well here as the staff will always try to please, if you'll just let them. Of course arriving earlier, in addition to the prospect of a beautiful sunset view, may afford you better odds with what remains available on their blackboard menu. My bottom line: Go experience The Salmonberry!

We just ate at The Salmonberry for the first time and were blown away by our experience! We had two small children with us and 3 adults and had a great time. The food was excellent (the pizzas and radiatore were so tasty!). The food arrived surprisingly quickly (which is great when you have hungry kids). The server was fantastic as well. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to others and come again the next time we are in town.

Pros: great local/sustainable business model; homemade pasta! (although the bucatini with clams was extremely salty), nice atmosphere and location on the water.
Cons: counter service model is just really frustrating for me. In a deli or sandwich shop? … sure! If I’m choosing to spend my hard earned money for a thoughtfully prepared meal, then I DON’T want to be getting my own silverware and bussing my own table. I want to sit down and be waited on! And cloth napkins would be nice (sustainable) instead of the fast food quality brown paper ones. Jussayin

We arrived on a Sunday evening around 5 with no wait to order. While the menu was small, most items were appealing, and we ordered a pasta dish and pepperoni pizza.

The items came out at different times and though they made a mistake on the pizza, the left that one for us and brought us another made correctly in just a few more minutes.

The food was unbelievable. So so good. We are over our heads in good pizza and food in Portland and it was a total surprise to find that kind of quality out here in this tiny coast town.

Yes, the prices are high, but I felt the quality made it worth it.

Kid was happy and loved both dishes.

Beer options were few but excellent.

I wish there was full table service here. It would match the quality of the food. Feels weird to have to grab your own plates/napkins/utensils.

I can't wait to try it again!

The best white wine clam pasta (the bucatini) I have ever had. Unpretentious spot for the best food around. Good drinks too.

This is our new favorite spot on the coast. Meatballs are some of the best I ever had. Wood fire pizzas are so flavorful, shrooms was excellent. Highly recommend!

Good news! I have decided to move in here. I will bring a comfortable couch and buy one dish after another until I am too gigantic to leave. It might take a long time, as the dishes are very healthy. I know I can do it, though!

Excellent fresh menu from local food growers, this is the place I send people when I want to guarantee they have a great dinner.

I really wanted to love this place because I think they are doing cool things, but was unfortunately very disappointed. We arrived at 6: 30 on a Saturday to a pretty long line to order - understandably prime time. Once getting to the register to order we were told that pizzas would be a very long wait - up to two hours. What a bummer because a few of the pizzas sounded delicious. The only tables left were outside as well. Really not sure why an outdoor patio at an expensive restaurant wouldn’t have heaters especially at the coast where nights are chilly all year. We ordered a few appetizers including the oysters which were great. Unfortunately we then waited almost an hour for our pasta, watching pizza after pizza come out to those who ordered right before us (so much for the 2 hour wait on those). The bucatini with clams was a let down but the rock fish pasta was great. There were four of us and the total was close to $300. But of course you have to get your own silverware, water, and bus your own table. I hope y’all can get it together.

Must check this place out!

Salmonberry served us with the most delicious and fresh food that is around. From fresh caught fish the day of to fresh picked chanterelle mushrooms, every ingredient came together that really brought a unique PNW flavor to everything.

Appetizers we had
Bread 10/10
Salmon 10/10

Meals:
Shrooms pizza 10/10
Pesto pasta dish 10/10

Amazing food! Shrooms pizza and the pesto pasta really hit the spot. I personally love the set up of the restaurant. Food comes out quick, easy to pick up your own dishes/ silverware etc. Beautiful view of the water and cute decor inside. Prices fair and staff is friendly. Highly recommend.

My friend and I stopped in here last week for dinner. We both loved the location and ambience. We sat near the back of the restaurant and where able to overlook the Wheeler Marina and Bay. Fish were jumping, the sun was out, and it was a beautiful evening. The food was very good, tasted fresh and flavorful, and was well presented. We shared a street corn appetizer, I had the rockfish tacos, and my friend had the pork tacos. The only thing that was a bit less than ideal was the wait-but it was very busy, so I can't really complain much. Overall I would absolutely recommend this spot for a tasty dinner in a great location.

Delightful Northwesterners recommended the hamburger and fries. Yummy! No photos. Now back in Tucson and I wanna go back!

If I were reviewing the food alone, this would be an easy 5 stars. But this place has a lot to figure out logistically. The staff is always incredibly kind, but having been here a few times, you never know if you’ll receive food in 5 minutes or 115 minutes. Come if you want hyperlocal fare and have the night to spare - skip if you have anywhere to be.

This was the very first time to visit this restaurant on 9/23/23 and most likely the last. The Salmonberry needs to seriously review their coordination of food items from the kitchen to be served to the same table under the same order number. Our tablemates received their pasta dish more than 30 minutes before our pizza arrived. It was not a pleasurable experience to watch them finish their meal while we still were waiting for our meal to arrive. Our tablemates then had to watch us while we tried to eat our meal under duress. It did not help to have staff stop by to check on our meal when we were just trying to start our meal in front of our tablemates. Not a very good experience with food or service.

Beautiful location but a total turist trap. Ok food (not great) but super overpriced for a self-service place.yep.we paid almost $100 for two people (just one drink per person and two entres) and we had to order at the counter and bus our own table (and clean it) cafeteria style.

The food was excellent. The wait to get our food was excessive, but it is a very popular place, and it gets extremely busy. If you have the time and the patience, you need to try this restaurant at least once in your life.
I liked the simplicity of the location where you can sit by the water front, in the dining room, or in the garden. The food is locally sourced, fresh, and prepared in a very simplistic way, but it is phenomenal. The pasta, the pizza, and dessert were excellent.
