Tierra Del Sol, Portland OR

Took a while to get our food but it was well worth the wait and clearly cooked from scratch. We ordered two different mole dishes and found them both to be superb with complex and unique flavor profiles. This is one of the better food carts I have been to in portland and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a Oaxacan experience.

My only recommendation would be to cook the chicken breast a little less. It came out somewhat dry. Not a huge issue though because of the excess of mole to eat it with.

We took home some of the homemade tortillas for dinner.

I would always give this place a 5 star review, but today I am sooooo disappointed! I used to go all the time when I live in SE, but now I live in Tigar. But… Every Sunday I drive 30 minutes out of my way to get four ADADA tacos. It’s a Sunday ritual of mine and I always order the same thing.

The guy that usually works Sundays even knows my order. He wasn't there today though. I’ve never had a problem with having to check my to-go order, EVER! I always get what I order, but today I got all the way back to the west side and opened the box… there were four CHICKEN tacos! WHAT THE HECK! So disappointed I could cry. I’m still going to eat them, but I’m not happy with my experience today. Lesson learned… always check your to go orders.

Very bad customer service and champurrado was cold after waiting for 10 plus minutes. I should had known right from the bat, when we approached the food truck, the younger girl looked at us, ignored us and after a couple of minutes of me asking her if i could order then she actually looked at me and took our order, then we waited more than 10 minutes for our cold champurrado (after the young girl told me to be very careful because it was hot) No it wasn't. I like to try new places and new foods, but with such a bad customer service and cold drink I will not be going back and will let my family and friends know how bad it was.

This is the best Mexican I've had in Portland hands down, and I've had a lot. Crazy good asada, next level tortillas, and perfect salsas. Definitely above the cut.

Been coming to the Foster cart since moving to the neighborhood and it never disappoints. My go to is the pastor but the new birria specials are absolutely must-try

It took more than 40 minutes for my food & how disgusting to find hair in your food. It's not the first. Every time I find hair in their food in the same lunch box. Let's see if they continue buying food in those types of disgusting lunch boxes.

The tacos Al pastor were so gooooooood! I also got the mango Juanitos (always amazing). There was plenty of seating and it's right next to some other food trucks and a mercado. If you've never been to a mercado. Go! They have a great selection of marinated meats.

I had 1 taco El pastor and 2 tacos lengua and I will say the lengua tacos are some of the best I have had In awhile, atmosphere only 3 stars only because it is a food pod but have cover from the sun and places to sit and enjoy your food. Service was great amd greeted with a smile.

Tierra del Sol is one of the few trucks in the lot with excellent food, yet I opted to order something simple yet refreshing. I have the pina-mango agua fresca, which deviates from the typical jamaica or horchata. To my relief, I found it to be a refreshing citrus drink with the right amount of accompanying sweetness. I'd return to try their food in the future.

Great plate. For $15 +20% tip, it was priced like other plates in its vicinity. While delicious, I prefer the flavors and textures at other Mexican restaurants like Poblano Pepper, Clandestino, or La Sierra better.

I'm Oaxacan and this was Oaxacan food. Blue corn tortillas, Oaxacan cheese, homemade mole and black beans, man I was in heaven. I say try this place out when you can. I got a quesadilla with carnitas (braised pork) and I couldn't help myself and ate half of it before taking a picture. My husband got the mole coloradito and he had a smile the whole time eating the dish. I would say stop by for some exquisite food.

Great food but horrible customer service feel like the lady was so racist because with the white people she was so cool with them

Loved the mole Amarillo, full of flavor! The rice was burned or maybe reheated too many times so that was a bummer. But honestly the best dish I had in Portland.
Friend got a veggie taco and said it was the best. Mole verde was also so delicious.
Tried the mango pineapple drink and it was great.
Parking was decent. Found a spot right in front because people come and go often.

The food was good but the checkout experience was very uncomfortable. When I placed my order, I was asked to pay immediately.pretty standard these days with food carts. I was also confronted with the usual tip screen while the employee stared at me and the screen. I felt totally uncomfortable, as if I was being watched what I would tip. This all happened BEFORE my food was even prepared. Please change your check out policy, and do not make customers feel uncomfortable OR obligated to tip in order to get good service. This would be considered a bribe. Long story short, I felt like I had to pay a 15% bribe in order to get good service. Tipping should be done AFTER I have been served my food.

Great chicken mole rice and beans plate! Mushroom quesadilla was great but would have like more clarification that mushrooms come in the veggie option! They have a lot of meat options so check those out!

Love Tierra del Sol. My favorite food cart at the Mercado. We ordered catering for our kiddos first bday and everything was great. Highly recommend!
