Tom Yum Thai Cuisine reviews
23Tom Yum Thai is a hidden gem! I've been going here on a bi-weekly basis for over 10 years. Their yellow curry is my favorite and their Pad See Ew is a close second. The staff is super friendly when you call and go in for pick-up. And as much as I love take-out, this is one of the few places where I used to really enjoy dining in before most restaurants closed their dining rooms.
Ordered delivery at 6: 40, still didn't have my food by 9pm. 3 separate Doordash drivers attempted to pickup the order and were stuck waiting 20+ minutes each.
This is my new go to, after some searching. The flavors are very standard Thai, but the main plus for me is they don’t over cook their noodles. Pad see ew is my favorite dish, but I rarely order it because the wide rice noodles are often falling apart and mushy. When I ordered it here, they were perfectly firm and held their shape instead of the broken, mushy bits I often see. The Thai iced coffee is a bit weaker than I’m accustomed to, but my husband and daughter prefer it that way.
First off, decent, average tasting Thai. A lot to improve on tho. If I order a noodle dish with only 2 ingredients (plus meat) I would expect to find those ingredients.broccoli and eggs BTW. Literally only 5 pieces of broccoli, and couldn't find any egg in the dish. One thing most people think of and expect of thai is spice. The spice scale is not good. I asked for the hottest spice level, and it came out comparable to taco bell mild sauce. I've given them many chances, but think this might be the last one. Disappointing to say the least.
The eggplant dishes are perfect every time. This spot rules. Everything is good. Love Tom yum Woodstock.
We have been here several times. Their food is always great and consistent and they’ve always been always been very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend.
Found a reciept from 20 years ago while purging and realize this place is still our goto. Consitently good food, nice staff, and reasonable prices.
Dry, bland food. Very disappointing. We went here for takeout after being disappointed by our usual place, Siri Thai, several times. We will keep searching for reliably decent Thai food!
I ordered the Bangkok Chicken and it was extremely dry. I also ordered the Tom Yum soup and it was both greasy and sweet. My experience was Tom Yuk! Total bill $26.00!
Red curry was yellow, pad Thai was dry and didn’t have barely any chicken or bean sprouts. Definitely not coming back.
Third on my journey to try every thai place in portland!
An old friend showed me this place and I always stop by here for lunch if I'm in the area. Waiting for food can take a little while sometimes, but there's plenty of interesting decor, people watching and thai iced tea to hold you over.
Drunken noodles! Oh my lord, drunken noodles. Really wonderful. Can't wait to dine in here again.
Delicious food, in a cute neighborhood.
I really enjoyed the drunken noodles.
Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu here.
The best thia food ive been able to find in Portland. The tom kha is a must have every time, and the Drunken noodles with peanut sauce, beef, and shrimp is my go to. Everything I've tried is great, can't go wrong.
The cashew nut stir fry w/tofu we enjoyed was simply one of the best Thai dishes we have had in quite a while.
Great food and even better service. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area and want Thai food.
I am Oregonian living in Thailand. Food was not very good to what I am used to. Maybe an off night as it was near closing and the staff seemed more concerned about rushing me through then providing quality service and eats.
Tom Yum has been my favorite for years, and they've exceeded their excellence by making gluten free sauces! I thought my days of Pad See Ew were over, but I think their gf sauces are even yummier than the original! Thank you Tom Yum!
I've been eating at this place for years and I really love this Thai food restaurant. I have a really good yellow curry.
The flavor of the food was excellent!
The service was great and my order come faster than I expected.
Was seated and ready to order when an employee said no outside drinks, i had 1/2 a can of soda i didn't want to leave in the vehicle as it's a warm day. My husband and i ended up leaving without ordering food. The employee didn't mind us leaving without making a purchase
