Tradewinds Charters - Whale Watching & Fishing - Oregon

Paid for a private boat for six people, the day before we were supposed to go out they moved us to a bigger boat with more people. Told me that there would only be four additional people, we board the boat and there were 9 other guests. Out of our six in our family we only brought home three fish and two crab each. Very disappointed, much better at Dockside Charters.

The captain and deck hand were fantastic. We limited out on bottom fish and took 5 crab home each. I'd say it was an awesome day. My 9 yr old went and they were great with him. Would definitely recommend

We went on a whale watching tour this summer, and it was awesome! The whales were right in the bay so we didn't have to go far. I don't know what it would be like if the whales weren't that close. One thing I was extremely disappointed by was the workers and some guests were smoking on the boat before we left. I hate smokers and smoking is dangerous to the people around you. It was extremely unprofessional.

Great service, Captain was great and informative. Saw tons of whales, we're almost certain Mr. Max was the amazing dog on board that would check to make sure everyone was following the rules and allowed pets!

The OR coast has been exceptionally foggy this summer, but this crew didn't let that phase them one bit when it came to getting our boat into some incredible whale action! It's surprising how much clearer you can still see these amazing animals even when it's a foggy day. The women working the window were awesome and very welcoming. You can tell that these folks genuinely love and respect the ocean and it's dwellers the way it's meant to be. Spent an hour on The Mariner for a very affordable price and an all-around incredible experience! Thank you so much! Definitely coming back soon to do some fishing and crabbing with your crew.

Crazy deal at the end. Be aware that any ' spare ' crabs go back to the boat captain (and just coincidental, the big ones). Not sure how the math worked on that.maybe it was just a perk for the filet team

Went out on the morning star, the captain and the deck hand were less then friendly, we paid for crabbing and they shorted everyone on crab, not sure what happened to the remaining crab.over priced for not great experience

The wife and I took a 5 hour bottom fish and crab trip on the Morning Star. The boat is solid, the captain friendly and the deck hand was interactive, friendly, helpful, kid-friendly. We went out on the fishing vessel called the Morning Star. My wife limited out on rock fish and we had a good haul of crab. We had a very good day fishing.

We hired a fishing boat to take us out to do a little ocean fishing. We had our captain his name was captain, and his first mate was named Chris. Let me tell you what Chris seriously worked his towel off for 5 hours making sure we had everything we needed. We caught a ton of fish everybody was super happy only two people fed the fish overboard if you know what I mean.

We went albacore fishing had a great time the captain was great and deck hand was fantastic. Weather was perfect. The bite was off. So the boat only landed 13. The only Reason I am not able to give 5 stars is out of 16 people who went only 10 even tried to fish the majority of the time. Because they were to busy DRINKING alcohol and getting drunk.few of them didn't even try to fish the whole trip and because of the way divide up the fish the people who didn't do there fair share of fishing still gor the equal share if i ever go on a trip like that i will only go on a trip that you keep what you catch

We saw at least 3 whales, our Captain was very knowledgeable about them, Ginger, 2 Spots and possible a 3rd one as well. I was determined to see whales for my Birthday and Tradewinds made it happen. My little guy (7) was a little scared at first, then excited and then a little sea sickness. So the 1 hour was perfect! Well worth the $. When I’m Depot bay check them out!

They are not very kind to individuals with mental illness. I tried to explain my situation and they treated me as trash. I felt stripped as a person. No empathy whatsoever.
So if someone does have a disability please be careful with making plans with this hurtful business

What a nice group of people running this business. Debi gave us a call giving us a heads up about ten minutes before our boat, the Mariner, was to depart and that was really helpful. Everything else ran smoothly.

Had a fantastic day on the ocean! The captain worked hard to make sure we were on the fish. Crabbing was an extra bonus with 96 crabs coming in to be shared with the fisherman. Was a great experience and can’t recommend them enough.

Super super fun experience! We did the Rockfish and Crab charter which was roughly $115/person, we saw a whale and they helped us quite a bit so we were able to go home with some fish. Will be doing this next time we’re on the coast and I’ll prepare my tummy a little better!

The captain and deckhand knocked them dead and the rest of the boat didn't. So that's interesting all the other times I've been on a charter the crew made sure we caught fish. Watching them pull in all those ling cod sure looked like fun but it would have been better if they were more interested in their fares catching than themselves. I'll spend the $500.00 with a different company next time.

3 generations fishing together. Breanna and her father were spot on, friendly, helpful, funny, and educational. Limited out on sea bass within 2 hours, went whale watching and saw a huge local blue within 50 ft of the boat. A+ 10 star trip.

We went out on the Mariner with Captain Dan and Kaleb for a 5 hour rockfish and crab trip. We could not of had more fun. Captain Dan did a great job putting us right where the fish were. I would recommend Tradewinds, and I most definitely will be back. Captain Dan and Kaleb did so great interacting with us and making sure our trip was enjoyable. We got a ton of crab and almost limited out on our rockfish.

My husband and I were in a group who did the 6 hour fishing trip. What a blast! Our Captain and deck hand took really good care of us. I am coming back again to specifically fish with you all again. I'm hooked!
