Trail museum reviews
3Great surprise whilst driving through. Visited a year ago but forgot to review. Fantastic amount of information for 100+ years.
This unimposing building houses a terrific museum full of over 100 years of activities from logging to fishing and and farming and even tourism. The exhibits are authentic and well presented. This region has a wonderful rich history that is unique especially with the logging history. But the museum is much much more and includes families and home life and all of the human experiences. I urge you also to take the small road and explore the area, go over the hill to Tiller and up the Umpqua River to Umpqua falls. If you can find the excellent book by Stephen Beckham "Land of the Umpqua" you will be able to really see the spirit of this area. Indeed, drive down the Umpqua to Reedsport where there is another fine museum. Southern Oregon is a wonderful place and this museum brings it to life.
The people at Trail Museum are passionate about preserving Oregon history with a focus on the local history. A fun stop to take the kids!
