Tru by Hilton Eugene reviews
15Very clean rooms, a nice breakfast spread. The water pressure is a little lacking, but overall, it is a great hotel. The staff were very friendly. I will be staying again.
Always count on a comfortable bed, pristine clean room, and floor selection. Recommend 5th floor, water view, and definitely bring ear plugs if sensitive to traffic below. Sound machine in room helped a lot! View totally worth it, super clean, warm breakfast, and evening staff somewhat aloof. Maybe it’s just the west coast. Front room style lobby with lots to do; billiards, board games, and magazines to read. Recommend this Eugene, OR Hilton over the one in downtown.
We stopped for the night here during our trip. This hotel is new and clean. Loved the reception area and service. I would recommend this hotel for your 1 or 2 night stays if visiting Eugene or passing by. They have decent breakfast, 24/7 coffee and market place for food.
4 stars for the rooms because there are obviously no views (which I did not care about anyway), else I would give 5 star for the overall experience. The best part was no carpets in the room - makes me feel more comfortable about the cleanliness. Thanks to a very sweet and welcoming staff.
A great bargain! This is a cozy place, very clean, nice staff, and quiet, convenient spot, with a view of the river to boot!
Great stay with our small pup. The room was perfect for one night’s stay while travelling home from a long trip. Room /bed was very comfortable, very clean and loved all the thoughtful amenities for a small space - best of all no carpet! Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the 24 hour access to snack/beverages was appreciated. We will definitely stay at a Hilton TRU again!
A perfect stay at this hotel - easy booking online, welcoming and joyful service from every person that works here, great and comfortable rooms/beds, and easy check out.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the facility & rooms were very clean. While the rooms offer basic amenities, they provide a comfortable stay. However, a notable concern is parking - when arriving later in the evening no spaces we're available which can be pain after a long drive.
12/12/23 @ 12: 10am.
I’m a trucker & just made it into town. I called to get a room & was told that I cannot check in for 12/11/23 because her night audit has already been ran for the night & I cannot check in for 12/12/23 until after 12pm. I even said that checking in for 12/11/23 (Monday) is okay cause I would be checking out by 8am. As a Hilton honor member & someone that stay with the Hilton at least 4-5 times a month I’m am highly disappointed with this. So you mean to tell me that you will pass on money because of an audit, it should be some kind of way to book a room after all it is a 24hr business. Whatever happend to a walk in booking? This is just ridiculous. They IGH would never, I guess it’s time to spend money were it should be spent.
Close enough and a straight shot to walk to Autzen Stadium. Rooms are pretty small and not very cozy. Some cleaning issues and bathroom sink smelled like mold. Breakfast was ok but coffee was not. If you are on a budget it's an ok choice.
Stayed here for an Oregon game. Location was great as well for the staff! Loved the amenities in the lobby. Definitely will stay here again if we're in town.
Excellent room. Breakfast was far superior to other hotels. The coffee was even good thank you
I don't usually write hotel reviews as I'm just staying overnight and don't require all the bells and whistles. Every stay seems to be about the same, but to be honest Hilton does offer better service than the Hyatt or Marriott. Let's not forget the use of digital check in, digital key to your room and choosing your own room.
I'll start by saying I've never stayed at Tru before. I needed a place to crash overnight from a long drive in California back to Seattle. Tru was reasonably priced, recently renovated, had a lot of great reviews and it was the midpoint for the drive.
I checked in through my mobile app, chose my room a day in advance and got in late. The process was seamless getting to my room. The mobile app worked outside on the exterior doors after hours as well.
After I was able to get into my room, the staff adjusted the temperature for me and turned the heater on since it was in the 40's outside. There was also a letter on the desk thanking me for my stay providing clear instructions on parking decal, breakfast, etc.
The room was extremely clean, there was hot water in the shower, the wifi was fast and the bed was comfortable. I will say if you do decide to pick your own room in the further left end second floor, you will be able to hear the cars passing by. It did not bother me, but something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper.
The room itself was a King-size and did not have a closet. It is set up in a minimalistic way where there is a red rod with a few hangers exposed in an open space for you to hang your clothes. It wasn't a problem for me as I pack light. There are additional hooks against the wall for you to hang your bags, jackets, etc.
The bathroom itself was very large, brightly lit and the ventilation worked very well. I will say theu provide a soap, lotion, shampoo and body dispenser which you have to use your hand to squeeze out. I did have a bit of a difficult time squeezing the handsoap out. This is a design flaw to keep in mind for folks with issues with their wrists or arthritis. Hopefully, they have a solution for this.
Other than the dispensers in the bathroom, everything else was great. My interaction with staff was limited as I just went in and left.
Very small room. No drawers to store stuff. No in-room coffee. Only 1 chair in room. There was a small fridge. Squeeze bottles of shampoo and shower gel. We were on 5th floor, no ice machine, had to go to lobby for ice. I think Hilton was trying too hard to make a "trendy looking" modern mid range hotel in the Hilton portfolio but they missed the mark. Coffee and tea available in lobby area breakfast available mornings. We're Diamond status with Hilton but I'll never stay at a "Tru" property again.
Great hotel for the value. Fresh bagels were awesome for breakfast and the eggs and bacon. Place was very clean and great value for money. We’d do Tru again over a Hampton or Embassy Suites when it’s just for a night or two and no time for a pool or hot tub. Wonderful convenience.
Decent minimalist option.
The lobby and common areas were bright clean and inviting.
The staff was all super friendly.
The coffee was always hot and decent. Their snack shop also easy to use.
There’s no amenities outside a small fridge in the room. So all coffee and food prep has to happen in the lobby.
The room is small, but big enough to be comfortable. There’s great lighting around. Not a ton of clothes storage spaces. No drawers, 4 wall hooks, and a small hanger area.
There’s and iron and ironing board.
WiFi was fast enough and the alarm clock has USB and power plugs built in.
Shower and sink soaps/ shampoo/etc are tamper proof wall mounted squeeze bottles confusingly labeled as “not soap”… made me smile.
I’d use it again. View to the river is really nice.
