Nice place for a walk. A variety of plant communities, birds, and wildflowers. If you walk in the rain, watch for newts. Trails are relatively clean. Trails are dirt, gravel or paved. Some areas get muddy. In wet weather trails can get large puddles or covered with flowing water due to poor design or lack of maintenance. It looks like some trails are subject to seasonal flooding. Perhaps rather than spending time leaf blowing trails with gasoline powered leaf blowers that make the air in the park hard to breathe they could do some trail work. Bridges and boardwalks in some areas. Benches and information panels are available along the trails. Most intersections are signed with trail names and directions to destinations. Maps are posted at access points and locations along the trails. Printed maps are available at Nature Center. Bicycles are allowed on some trails. Dogs are not allowed. The restrooms available at the Nature Center are clean and well maintained. Made a loop by walking SW 170th Ave from Big Fir Trail to Maple Vine Trail. Do not advise. Walking on SW 170th was dangerous. No sidewalk or shoulder. The trails that were closed for the sewer upgrade project are back open. The impact area is a mess. It will be interesting to see what they do for restoration of the impact area. On a visit in Feb. 2023 the impact area was being planted. Unfortunately it looks like the plants were mostly planted in lines and look unnatural. On a March 2023 visit much of the impact area was under flood water. Hopefully this will make it look more natural.

So amazing that no dogs are allowed. Finally somewhere I can take my kids and enjoy it without dogs everywhere!

Such a beautiful park! Lots of different trails that connect to other types of trails that also connect to other kinds of trails.

Great 222 Acre Preserve.feel like I'm in the Wilderness outside of the traffic and Construction.
If you come here on a Sunday either early in the morning or early in the evening you might get lucky and see what I have seen and those are owls or foxes.
Currently right now it is 2: 30 in the afternoon it's sunny it's cool underneath the trees and quiet with no construction and very little traffic out there compared to the weekdays.

Some of the trails have been put into No access at this point due to construction.

(UPDATE-FEB 19th, 2022)

So the Construction should not impede travel through the Park, now, just in the areas with drainage. The New Boardwalk that was put up in the western part of the Park is fabulous with grippy flooring on those wet days. This is my go to park that is only a few stops away on the Max coming from the west. IF you run or like a vigorous walk you can easily get in a nice workout on this trail network by looping in several times. Just remember that runners DO NOT have the right of way, walkers do. Please call the Tualatin Hotline if you see people with dogs in the park or cyclists on the dirt trails. Enjoy this accessible trail.

A Note to parents with children - please remember this is a quiet area where most of the animals live everyday 24hours a day so being QUIET is highly appreciated. There are many reasons people come here, kind of like being in a library where there are many areas to explore without being loud and disturbing others.

Wow, the Park is just so incredibly FULL RIGHT NOW in the latter part of SPRING in June 2023. I am amazed as to how green, how tall the grass is, over overgrown everything is, just so super. When it is around the low 80s and there is a nice breeze it is heaven in these woods under the canopy.

Just love this place…. Especially when it is quiet and the birds are doing their thing.

If you live close to this Park, like within 5 miles this is such a cool place to visit. Yesterday there were an abundance of mushrooms all over. Fall is such a great time of year for changing leaves and mushrooms.

The Barred Owls are so awesome to see, this past spring I managed to have over a dozen encounters and throughout late summer into fall a couple.

Great place to have a quick lunch or walk, it almost feels like you're actually in the woods

Side paths are patched and easier to navigate. New bridge to the West side, so you can extend your walk! One of my favorite places to walk!

For serious walkers or people like me who go there to enjoy peace and nature, I suggest avoiding weekends when families abound.

The dumbest rule ever posted in the history of planet Karen, no dogs in nature! Trust me, dogs don't scare wild life! Wild life has wild in the name! Come on people! Wake up.

There are so many parks in the Portland area, do not overlook this gem! A gorgeous walk or easy jog, dense biodiversity, lots of cool events. One of my favorite places. It takes me about 30 minutes to jog the perimeter of the park, more if I stop for pictures or just to admire the views.

***The signs are a little confusing for me to read! Definitely snap a pic of the trail routes before you head in****

Lovely park with paved walking trails and nature viewing areas. Great for families and strollers but no dogs allowed. The visitor center has interpretive exhibits for kids plus clean bathrooms.

Great nature park, with tons of trails, bridges, and elevated walkways. No dog are allowed in the park to protect the nature.

Yet another place for rich liberals to ban dogs and fill the parking lot full of Subarus and teslas. I wish there was a 0 star review.

It's a nice break from being in the city without actually having to go anywhere. I enjoy walking around and taking pictures of the animals and plants
