Tucker Park (Hood River, OR) reviews
15Really nice county park. There is one loop that is really nice with lots of grass. Highly recommend to stop here. Very friendly and helpful campost.
Nice place to Fall camp. Hear the river. Close to town & hiking. Helpful staff. Note-there is a house above the lower camping area that played loud music both nights we were there, we could hear the booming of the sub-woofer for an hour or two. That was not great.
We drove in here on a Friday night in September and found a place to camp near the river. It was $25. We didn't have any hookups, and there is no dump station.
It was cool and the stream was coolest of the all the you weren't supposed to make fires
I drive all the way from Portland just to come hang out here with the dog. Unbelievable facilities. Best swimming hole on the Hood River. Can’t say enough good things about this magical little spot.
Nice park, great river to cool off in. Will never stay again as park host is a total A-Hole. As we arrived we were berated over having a generator that we had not even started. Ok, hes an A-hole. Then.at 10pm he comes to our site and tells my wife we cant park our truck there and she needs to wake me up or he's not leaving. The truck was parked at a 45 degree angle in the site, not in the road at all. Never a problem anywhere. I refused to move my truck to their overflow lot but did re position it in the site. This is not reasonable.
Very clean bathrooms, rules clearly listed at entrance, simple system to get & pay for a campsite, it's all self-service
Nice clean campground with a very friendly host. 35/night seems a bit steep but many county parks in Oregon have raised their price to this.
Campground is alright, got everything you need and you can hear the river - depending on your spot of course.
Camping spots are close together but not a bad place to stay. We just drove through the campground to check it out. Some nice little spots next to the creek but only for tents
Nice spot for lunch in the picnic area.
The beach area is pretty limited for my personal liking, the river is more intense than I feel comfortable with for my special needs son, and it's a bit crowded for how I prefer to camp and swim with my family. It is very nice though overall, and has great views.
Ideal for last minute camping. Drove up Saturday morning around 10 am on Labor Day weekend and there were a couple spots that were open. Check out is at 12 pm but people tend to leave alot earlier, so it's not so much based on how early you get there, but more so on when people leave.
Bathrooms and showers were nice. Short trails along the river. Overall good spot.
Been coming here for 5 years and it’s my absolute favorite camp ground! Sites are well maintained, bathrooms are clean, have great showers (coin operated), and there’s no shortage of hot water. Quite a few sites have glorious green grass and water spigots. River sites offer a wonderful view and lulling sounds. The hosts Steve and Tiffany are fantastic! So friendly, helpful and do such a great job taking care of the space.
Typically we would rate this place as a 5 star, however this time was far from it. We were using a fire to cook dinner and they came and put our fire out with two buckets of water saying fires were not allowed. Then hours late the people next to us started a fire just to stay warm and had it going most the night, however the grounds keeper drove by multiple times and never made out neighbors put their fire out. We were NOT being unsafe with the fire that was in the firepit, same as our neighbors. SO if they made us put our fire out. Our neighbors should have had to as well.
