What an absolutely gorgeous, wonderful trail. At 4 round trip miles & not too terrible elevation gain, it's just enough trail & workout to enjoy in a few hours without feeling drained. Fall is the perfect time of year - no mosquitos, tons of huckleberry bushes, cool mountain air & the air smells incredible. A must-hike really ANYtime year round!

Great trail. We went while it was covered in snow. Lower twin lake is beautiful when iced over

Great place to hike, the trail is well maintained and the parking lot is huge. Lots of places to park with little risk of not getting a spot, even on busy days. Still try to get here early because it is a very popular trail. Hard to see the mountain but the views of the lakes and the forest make up for it!

Beautiful lake it is an excellent backpacking for beginners and for family with young kids. Easy two miles in and you are there.

Beautiful & connects to other trails so you can kind of adjust the length you want to hike. Markers were clear & helpful.

This was our first backpack overnight campout. We hiked up to the upper lake primitive camp site getting setup before dark. It was about 40 overnight on the mountain. There are established fire-rings and a couple of different spots around the upper lake to set camp.

Amazing trail especially in early spring so it's cold enough to scare away day hikers. Snow on the ground, but we found dry spots to setup camp. Amazingly quite, could hear the coyotes at night. Kept the campfires going and stored the food off the ground.

By the time we headed out snow was almost all gone. Fantastic backpacking trip that was so refreshingly rejuvenating. I think summer time would be awful with mosquitos. The lakes here aren't that deep.
