Umpqua Lighthouse State Park reviews
33This one of the best lighthouse tours I've been on. The guide was Jerry and his knowledge of the history and workings was terrific.
This is a great part of Oregon history, and is easily accessed, right off of state highway 101.
You can view the lighthouse, which is iconic, and there is tours at certain times of the year.
Not sure what those times are, but I know it's done, because I read it on a poster board they have there.
Aso, you can't ask for better scenery, what with tall pines surrounding you, and a great view of the ocean, and they even have one of those two eyed telescopes you put a quarter in so you can view the beach up close.
There is direct access to the beach, if you drive down into the park itself, but the lighthouse is right there off the highway, and a great place to stop, and stretch your legs, if you've been traveling for a long spell.
Come here yearly in the fall. Love the beach and extremes in weather. Centrally located do you can go North up to Dunes Overlook and Florence, Yachats, Waldport, Newport or South to Aunset Bay Gardens, Bandon, Port Orford, Humbug Mtn, Gold Beach or Brookings.
Next time there's a full moon. It's worth taking a drive to the light house. Watching the colors of the light house as it turns with the full moon lighting up the ocean is stunning.
What a charming lighthouse! My fiance took me there for a private tour. It was a spectacular place to get engaged. I love learning about Oregon history, and the personable tour was a nice touch.
This was a fun visit. The gift shop was awesome and the staff was very helpful and kind. The grounds were very well kept. Small lighthouse. We opted not to check out the small museum but will next time. Gorgeous area.
Really interesting tour of the lighthouse, as a resident of Winchester Bay, I really enjoyed finding out the history of the lighthouse and the Coast guard here. Recommend it. Love to come sit here and watch the sunset. Beautiful view.
Had a great stay here. Hosts don’t bother you but keep the campground very clean. Nice trail to lake Marie which is so beautiful.
Quiet little Park tucked away along the Oregon coast. Well at least when all the kiddies are back in school
Most unique & visually pleasing light house on Coast at night with the red & white beacon. Also great ocean view.
A family favorite Super close to the dunes and beach.a nice quiet break from the dunes.totally sheltered from the wind.a great place for a picnic on a nice day! Great hiking trail around the lake too.
Well kept facilities, and an overall excellent campground. Sites are fairly close together, but not too bad at all. My gripe is that there are only 8 overflow parking spots in a 54 site park? $7 fee for overflow
Wonderful place to see whales with lots of helpful and interesting information posted. The lighthouse is also beautiful.
Lighthouses are silent gaurdians of the night. I can not help myself when traveling up and down the coast and have to stop when I see one. This one is well preserved by the USCG. They have done a wonderful job with this beautiful structure. There is also a campground on the property. I did not stay here but it would be nice to see this lighthouse in action during the dark of night.
I though small would be better. But this park just failed to deliver.
Only one shower station. And only by the tent campers
Arrived late in the day so could not do a tour. Okay as far as lighthouses go, Oregon's first lighthouse.
Meh. Not an impressive lighthouse. Next to bland government housing. Good lookout spot though. Gift shop staff was rude.
If you appreciate lighthouses, this is a must see. Beautiful view of the ocean. Great camping. Museum.
This lighthouse was a let down. It is surrounded by military housing. I feel sorry for the family members who have to deal with all the tourist.
Excellent place to watch the sunset. The lighthouse is run by the Coast Guard which is on their compound.
