Valvoline Instant Oil Change reviews
20 I’ve been going here for several years with 2 cars. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy. Since I don’t put a lot of miles on my car I will sometimes stop there between oil changes. They will check the various oils, top off and if my car isn’t ready for a change they will tell me to come back in a month. They won’t try to sell me a change that isn’t needed. The young woman who runs the computer is very knowledgeable. Her boyfriend is a mechanic with his own business and has done excellent work for me. I once discussed a car that I was considering buying with one of the young men. He didn’t give me advice but suggested that I have a mechanic look at a certain year range of that model. He’d seen problems.
That’s good, dependable service.
Great place to get your oil changed and the staff are usually friendly. Most of the time you can find coupons online. The only reason for not giving five stars is because you cannot make appointments and you often have to wait in line for a while. Would love to see Valvoline offer appointments in the future.
I had my oil changed during the check they notified me my air box was broken and they won't be able to check my filter. I wasn't paying attention before but then I noticed them putting the box back on.
I just purchased the vehicle 3 weeks before and did not see this and haven't been under the hood once. I shook it off as maybe I just didn't notice the hose laying loose with the broken plastic.
After the change I immediately went to AutoZone to ask about the part they said I had to order it and when looking at it said "your lucky you haven't stalled out when coming to idle" which was funny because suddenly the jeep was idling rough as of my oil change.
After reading the reviews of what other people had happen I would bet the employee broke the hose connector when trying to lift the air box.
Don't bother asking me to contact you I highly doubt anything will come of this. Not likely you will replace a $125 part for a $100 dollar oil change. Just a warning to others. I can't prove they broke it. It could have happened in the 3 weeks after I bought the car and NEVER opened the hood after. Then it magically developed symptoms after the oil change.
Used to love this place, when it was oil can Henry's they were great. However, the cameras that used to show you what they were attempting to do, are now gone. The crew tried to upsell me on every service imaginable, none of which I needed. This explains the long wait times. They also vacuumed the the oil out, which does not save you any time when you have to remove the oil filter and skid plate anyway. They were friendly enough, but I don't appreciate the waiting and upselling. Note: I do my own maintenance, and I am a mechanic. I only get oil changes at a quick lube because it is usually quick.
Mike was very attentive, also seems like a very chill dude. Got quick service, answered all my questions. Best valvoline I’ve been to so far!
ALWAYS knowledgeable and friendly. I love that they recommend things I could do for my car while getting the oil changed, but they never pressure me to do them just to make more money, and I appreciate that.
Poor customer service. Was quoted about a 15 minute wait. Left after waiting over an hour.
Drevyen (manager) and Jeryn were just amazing and went above and beyond on a very hot day! I always get good service at Valvoline but seriously the day I was in was next level as far as how great they were to me! You are lucky to have such great folks working for you!
I have been a loyal customer at this shop for many years, always appreciating the quick and amazing customer service from the guys. They have never pressured me into any extra services, which I value. Despite moving to the North side of town, I continued coming here for my basic oil change needs. However, today was a completely different experience.
On a Saturday morning before noon, I joined the line for service, but it became evident that the line was moving extremely slowly. Even though they had only two cars in front of me. I patiently waited but I had a scheduled appointment at 1: 30 pm, and it was clear that I wouldn't make it on time. I approached a woman and asked how much longer it would take to move the line. She apologized and explained they were trying out a new staff member. I explained my time constraints, but her offer to let me skip the oil change and move ahead in the line was not acceptable to me. I insisted on getting my oil change done today since that was the purpose of my visit.
Finally, after 1: 10PM I made it into the service bay, where I met Tyler, who was very polite and skillful in deescalating the situation. He offered me a coupon as a gesture of goodwill. At that point, I mentioned that Manager Shane had told me I needed to change my brake lights, and Tyler was about to attend to that when Manager Shane came over to talk to me.
I expressed my frustration, stating that training new staff on busy Saturdays was not ideal and affected other customers' time and commitments. I felt upset that my day had been ruined, and I was late for my appointment. Unfortunately, Shane responded by arguing with me, which only added to my disappointment. I tried to make it clear that I wasn't there to argue, but simply to get things done efficiently. I also suggested that they inform customers in advance if there might be delays due to training, allowing people to make informed decisions about waiting or rescheduling. He told Tyler not to change my break lights (I think he was very sensitive to my corrective criticism feedback)
It saddened me that one person's lack of customer service skills, and making strategic decisions in busy times and inability to deescalate situations could have such a negative impact on the business. In contrast, I want to give Tyler five stars for his excellent service and attitude. He should be a manager! But I won’t come back here!
P. S.picture taken at 1: 10 PM
And I see I am not only one who’s complaining about the same thing=common denominator.
Best of luck!
I thought the guys were friendly and on point but, It took me an over hour to get my oil changed with 2 cars in front me, and triple the price of doing my own. I will stick to doing it myself. Probably a great place for those that can't do it themselves. Thx anyway fellas.
A very long wait so many other customers waiting ahead of me. The person that I spoke with was friendly and said ther were only 3 workers by they will get to my vehicle asap.
Not very good experience. This happened a while back. First they gave me newspaper to read when I pulled over which makes me feel super friendly. However, what happened afterwards making me very disappointed. I think they try to take my backup tire off the back door of my car to inflate it, but they are not able to and leave the tire cover zipper half way down. I ended up having to zip back when I got home. Then they asked me for additional fee because they said my Toyota RAV4 need special filter. I was laughed by my partner when I shared this story. Later, they showed me the color of my brake liquid and told me that I need to change it in addition to regular oil change. I checked with a mechanics and was told there is no need yet. I will never go back to this location.
Mike Seiber was incredible, he gave me the best oil change and radiator flush, was very thorough and super helpful, ive never had such a great experience at valvoline so thank you Mike, you are amazing!
These guys are AHH-MAZING! Fast, smsrt; kind and professional. No high pressured up sales. Well done boys!
These guys are fairly quick and thorough. They explain what you need to know in order for you to make informed decisions about the services you choose. I've been going to this location for YEARS way back when it first opened as Oil Can Henry's.
Very unprofessional. Over a hundred dollars for an oil change and they stopped topping off oil 2 years ago. 9.99 for a qrt. If you got 5 bucks I'll sale you half a qrt he tells me knowing I'm a qrt down from my oil change 4 weeks ago, but here is the real kicker, it's never leaked or used oil before most likely they never filled it correctly the first time. I'm good I won't be back.
I got in a car crash in front of Valvoline this week. After my car got pushed into the parking lot where Valvoline is, Alejandro came over and asked if I’d like a chair to sit on while I waited for the tow truck.
In such an overwhelmingly and stressful moment when I felt really alone, his kindness brightened my day and I’m really grateful for that.
When I get a new car, I will be bringing it here.
I love this place, the staff are so helpful and explain everything every step of the way. Their customer service and skilled work is some of the best out there. I docked one star because prices are a bit high but the staff experience makes up for it, they are definitely better than taking my truck to the dealership though. So I suggest them for quick efficient work done in a professional and skilled manner!
Great customer service, Miguel the manager was very attentive and showed me extra features on my car I wasn't aware of. Didn't try to upsell but told me what was needed. Appreciate his honesty.
Unpleasant staff make a 15 minute oil change an infuriating experience. Rude staff member tried to sell me on some $150+ oil change because my Toyota doesn't take a conventional oil change according to him. The only upside is that the oil change was quick, but it's only because I wanted to drive off as soon as possible after the nasty and unpleasant treatment from the staff. My light is still on, so it's only a guess if they really changed the oil on my car! I don't recommend this place!
