Very compassionate staff! My dog needed emergency surgery and they kept me informed every step of the way. I would highly recommend them for care and glad they were open 24 hours a day to answer any questions about post surgery care.

I was visiting from out of town when my dog became Ill. I took her to this emergency vet because it was closest to where I was staying.
They were so kind and professional, and didn’t give up until they had come up with a diagnosis and plan for treatment. She had an infection behind her eye which could have resulted in loss of site. I feel very fortunate they were able to save her eye site and clear the infection. I would with out hesitation recommend them to anyone with a sick or injured pet.

I recommend Dr. Taylor 100%. The other staff was friendly as well. There were some things that were frustrating (more procedural difficulties), but every interaction with Dr. Taylor made everything else ok. I feel like our dog had the best care possible in Bend due to having him as her surgeon. Our small terrier was attacked by a large dog while we were traveling at the coast. The first 24 hours were in an ER Vet in Corvallis, and when they finally got to her and saw that she had severe wounds and she likely would need surgery they didn't specialize in, they arranged for VRCCO to take over as we wanted to get home to Bend. We transported her 3 hours straight to VRCCO in the middle of the night. It then took a couple of hours to have her assessed with the night staff (they were busy), and by the next day we had received communication, but were still waiting to hear when she would go into surgery. At this point, it had been 36 hours since she was taken into care in the first place. We felt very confused having heard that she had severe injuries and potential fluid in her chest cavity, but her injuries hadn't been addressed yet—she was "stable" and not as dire as the other animals coming in. We were worried the new Dr. (she had had 4 different Dr.s at this point between the two clinics) hadn't received the entire history or knew how long she had really been pending care. I called VRCCO, and the woman who took my message (I believe Cathy) was extremely gracious and interpreted my concerns well. Within a short time, Dr. Taylor called back. He heard our concerns, but most importantly, as soon as he initiated care with our dog, he was completely devoted and effective at understanding her status, diagnosing the full problem, and making a plan to take care of it. He is an excellent communicator—he presented a very logical explanation, taking me through the steps of what the problems were, how he could address them, and what the next steps were. We felt like all of the important information was finally in the right hands, and that's a really good feeling when you're in an emergency care situation.

We were referred here by our primary vet as Chauncey was experiencing acute tail pain with no improvement after a few weeks. We really appreciated the personalized care and overall attentiveness of the staff. Starting from the initial discussion with the vet tech at drop off, and then with the doctor as they reviewed our pup's evaluation results and next steps. We really appreciated the time you spent with us and truly felt listened too. Shout out to the tech (didn't catch her name!) and Dr Perry for the care, and Brina at the front desk for loving on Chauncey.

We had an excellent experience at VRCCC - the vet and staff were so communicative and thorough, and we felt very well taken care of. Dr. Bridget O'Connor was amazing and so nice.

Everyone was very caring and communicative! It was nice knowing my pup was in good hands, and that I could call for an update whenever I wanted to. Thank you!

Very efficient and timely. The cost for an emergency visit was very reasonable. If we weren't in Prineville we would consider using this Vetenarian on a regular basis.

Everyone at VRCCO was very professional, friendly, and transparent. They made a stressful experience as smooth as it could be. The friendly vibe, the clear communication and the professionalism were much appreciated. Luckily, our wait time was not very long. But even if it has, the waiting room and outdoor area are comfortable and they provide snacks, coffee and drinks. For the people who did have to wait longer, the staff was communicative. One of the reception staff- (agal with green hair whose name I can't recall) was great. The vet who was on the evening we went also great. I felt like all the staff were kind and attentive.

We’ve had mostly positive experiences here, but our most recent left me a bit frustrated. We have a cat who has had several urinary issues in the past couple months, and have taken him here 4 times, all for what we thought were emergencies. Our first time, we were seen quickly and were given several different options with varying prices of how we could treat our cat. We opted for the least expensive and went to our primary vet the following day to further treat him. The second visit our boy was showing signs of another blockage, and this time they only offered us one option that ended up costing us over $3000. We paid for a 48 hr hospitalization and assumed that meant 48hrs, but we ended up having to pay a day fee since we moved our work schedules to pick him up 48 hours later when they wanted us to pick him up earlier than that. The third visit, we brought him in because he was showing signs of another urinary issue and thankfully he wasn’t blocked but just inflamed and they sent us home with meds to help treat that. Our most recent visit was only a couple days later. I called to ask if we should bring him in because he was laying down and peeing in his bed, and after putting me on hold to consult someone, they advised that it was likely the safest option. Upon arrival, they took him in quickly and gathered history and about 20 minutes later the doctor told me he was okay and that they’d be sending us home. Advised to avoid unnecessary vet visits in order to reduce stress—I completely agree with that however I would not have brought him in if they had told me otherwise. We’ve done everything in our power to reduce the likelihood of further urinary issues (reducing stress, increasing activity and decreasing food—he’s a bit of a chonk—and increasing water intake). This whole situation has made us extra nervous about any odd behavior from our cat, but we’d never want to cause him further stress by unnecessarily bringing him in. I felt misguided this last time, and partially like I was being blamed for causing him stress on this visit. Hoping I never have to bring him in again—we want our boy urinary blockage free forever! —but that communication is improved on our next potential visit. I’d do anything for our cats, I just wish I wasn’t told to bring him in only to be told later that I shouldn’t have.

Awesome vet hospital with specialists in many fields. Their pet blood donation program ROCKS! 3 of my 4 qualified pets to donate have, in fact, donated.

Dr. Vaughn was thorough and kind during the entire visit we had today. He covered all the bases for our kitty and made sure that we knew all of our options. I am so grateful that our cat received his care.

The staff was extremely kind and friendly. They took good care of the kitten I brought in and were very thorough when talking me through what they found and next steps. Rosemary answered all of my questions and Marie was very helpful! There was another staff member, I unfortunately didn't catch her name, who talked with me about fostering cats and how she has taken care of dogs on hospice. Everyone there clearly cares deeply about animals!

I really appreciate the staff for being very communicative with all the steps they were going to take with my dog in order to get him back to good health. They were great about checking in, explaining the situation, allowing me to ask questions, & allowing me to give approval before moving on to another procedure. I really appreciated the front desk team. They were very kind, it was great chatting with them & they brought my spirits up. Chloe took my initial call and helped me at the front desk when I first arrived. She is really sweet and made me feel better about the situation. Towards the end of my first visit & throughout my second visit, Trinity has been very kind & helpful. It was really relieving to see a familiar face from the night before. It was really nice to talk to her & she is very communicative & positive. I cannot remember the doctors I worked with, but they was also amazing, reassuring, & communicative. I was here on Saturday, July 1st from 6am-8am, so whoever the doctor on staff and the emergency doctor were at the time, they were great!

A coworker recommended VRCCO from his past experiences there and his glowing review was spot-on! Everyone was friendly and genuinely cared about all the animals in their care and I'm pleased to hear another location will be opening soon, too! Our entire experience was great. I appreciated each team member's level of caring and will recommend VRCCO to anyone in need of immediate veterinary care. Time estimates were accurate and communication was clear and intelligible to non-veterinarians. I felt comfortable asking questions knowing that thoughtful and intelligible explanations would be given, and even though our dog has some separation anxiety, he was well tended-to and honestly, well-loved during his short stay. I cannot say enough good things about everyone there, and am so thankful to have been referred here! Thank you all:) Dr. Traylor was warm and friendly and I felt that our dog was in great hands when he went back for his procedure. After care was explained thoughtfully and in detail, and I wish I remembered the names of all the staff we interacted with who were sweet and kind to both our dogs as we waited together. Everyone we interacted with seemed like they are in exactly the right line of work:) We had a great experience and we can't thank you enough!
