Vietnam Restaurant reviews
19Several weeks ago I invited a group of friends to enjoy Vietnamese food. We were so excited until we had to wait for 45 mins to get our food. It was so so so long and the food is not warm enough. In addition, it's not Vietnamese taste. Not authentic at all. We were so disappointed with this experience, and will not come back.
Weeeeellllllll. Wish it was better. We got Kung Pao beef, Kung Pao shrimp and two spring rolls. The spring rolls were deep fried in oil that was not hot enough, therefore, they were like oil sponges. Not good! The main dishes were mainly made with the cheapest ingredients possible - onion, carrot, and celery. I found one bamboo shoot. No Chinese vegetables whatsoever. The shrimp and beef were just ok quality. The sauce was actually ok. Overall rating 3 out of 5. I can make better Kung Pao beef at home. Lots of room for improvement, they could easily do better.
We arrived at 07: 30 and they didn't want to attend, there was space in the place. I think the owners should be more attentive.
Sat for 20 minutes to have someone take our order then 20 more to get cold potstickers and 30 more minutes for no food. Several groups came in and left after we sat dow. Asked for it to go and they said that we "already got the food". Walked away from us and then frantically asked us to pay up for the potstickers as we were heading to leave, money in hand intending to pay. Should gave read the previous reviews cause apparently this happens all the time.
Potstickers were nice. Too bad we waited for an hour and then didn't get any food ever. Was it the baby? He was a little loud at the start. Maybe because we were in the corner. Doesn't matter. No excuse is enough.
First time visit! After trying a few Vietnam & Thai locations crossing the country I was excited to find shrimp wraps & peanut sauce.
Everything we ordered was delicious. The staff were welcoming, attentive & very helpful. The cost was on average, especially for the large amount of food provided. (Two of us were not able to finish the meal.)
The quality of food is definitely a need-come-back level. Our family eats here several times a year when we just need phó. Best Vietnamese food in Eugene for the price point! Service is good but they are short staffed in front of house, atmosphere is typical family Asian restaurant. But the food! OH!
Footnote, they also have Jian dui.adefinite need to try! I have them most everytime I eat here.
**** Update****
Still great food but yesterday (Aug 15,2023) met a friend here for lunch and it was like walking into a steam bath. HVAC and ventilation system obviously not working. 100+ degrees outside and it was just as hot inside with very high humidity from the kitchen. Those poor cooks and servers must be really suffering. We stayed and ate in a hurry as the food is worth the steam bath. Hope They fix it soon.

Best Won Ton soup ever! Very reasonable prices and comfortable, clean, casual environment. Plexiglass between booths which is nice. My first visit and the won ton soup were excellent so I will be back to try everything on the menu. I got an extra take out order of won ton soup as well it was so good!
This has got to be the worst bún I’ve ever had. It was warm rice noodles served with like breaded fried beef on top and steamed carrots and zucchini. It’s supposed to be a cold dish with cold veggies and I’m not sure in the 25 years I’ve been eating bún that anyone has ever breaded and fried the meat and had the balls to still call it bún.
What the heck am I eating? I didn’t order Chinese food. For a place called “Vietnam restaurant” it sure tastes like it has absolutely no roots to Vietnam.
Vietnam isn't a fancy restaurant, but the food is fantastic! Recently, I tried the curried beef. It was so good! I can't wait to go back for more.
This place literally sucks i am i livid, i came to this restaurant today around 7 with my family, they saw us sitting there for 30 minutes and i kid you not there were more people coming in and they served them as soon as they got there and couldn’t serve us for 30 minutes straight.and i know they saw us but no one came.we thought maybe they were busy so let’s not pressure them.when we finally got frustrated my sister went to go ask them and a female employee came over.no drinks nothing she just took our food order and they didn’t even get my dads plate of food when we specifically said 2 orders of the fried rice, this was then about 30 minutes before they close and we asked them to make the rice and they dodged our question many times and then they finally said “oh they’re putting the food away” 30 MINUTES.you’re supposed to clean up AFTER you close like what the.i feel so bad now i couldn’t even eat peacefully because my dad was just watching.we’ve never had an issue coming her until this one female employee served us.never ever coming back i actually hate her
Food is really good, do recommend if you can put up with the staff. The waitress had twice forgot about me and my food when I take it to go, mean while other people are getting their food on time even when they take their food to go. Not sure if there is favoritism but the waitress is really rude.
I just went with my family yesterday, since we had a long day and we didn't have time to cook, to begin with, when we arrived, it took about an hour and they didn't take our order until we asked them and I think they had forgotten, they didn't offer us drinks and when they finally brought us our food they forgot a dish that they didn't prepare and when we asked for it they said that they had already saved all the ingredients and to finish when we paid they charged us $76 dollars for 5 dishes that their cost was $65 and they told us that they charged us 5 dollars for a portion of shrimp that we ordered instead of a portion of duck since we don't like it, what a bad experience we had, the truth is that even my hunger was taken away, and that's why they don't deserve any stars, I only put it there to be able to give my review, I will never go there again, apart from the waitress was with a genius from hell slamming the plates when she lifted them from the tables, I hope someone who was there yesterday can give their opinion too.
Best pho in town if I'm not making it myself. Their pot stickers are delicious and love their cafe sua da.
Viet food is delicious. I want to wat other things on the menu, but I come here for the pho most times.
Food was not as good as other places in Eugene. Very few vegetables/tofu in vegetable only dishes. The service was not friendly and water was not filled despite not being seemingly busy. Constant loud sounds of plates being cleared from tables while dining. The bathroom had not been cleaned and was not usable.
Pho was good enough, but not the greatest. Waitress seemed overwhelmed and tables were not bussed. Was a bit grimy, but not gross. Cost was o.k. For what you got.
Great pho. To go order was very skimpy on the meat, no fortune cookies.and had to go back to ask for hot sauce.
Pho is on point, but it's also such a basic dish. You need to try other noodle dishes like bun bo hue, duck egg noodles, or my favorite hard to find Bun rieu.
Their bum rieu is good, but it's the egg and pork version, which is very safe for anyone wanting to try something new. But the classic way this dish is made, is with crab and egg. They were missing shrimp paste too. This is where they lose a star for me. Wanted that authentic dish behind the name.
Still, a visit worth the bite.
Vietnam Restaurant was a solid find for pho after a grueling vacation day.
The place is a little bare bones in terms of decor, but it doesn't need to be fancy to be good.
We got both got pho, one with meatballs and thinly sliced beef and the other with everything along with the spring rolls.
The spring rolls were great as was the peanut sauce and I was delighted that they cut the spring rolls into pieces. It makes it much easier to scoop up as much sauce as possible.
The pho was also great. The broth was flavorful with just the right amount of fat and the meats were perfectly tender. The noodles were also cooked very well. Overall a solid choice.
