Vista House is a historic observation deck and viewpoint in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. The view is wide and the scenery is beautiful.

The views were breath taking; even though I didn't get to go inside due to it being locked.

Glad we took the old road and not the highway as the views of the Columbia Gorge from here were just amazing. Despite being busy on a July afternoon we still managed to park ok. Most folks don’t stay for too long.

Great place to get a good view and great photos of the gorge. Parking can be a little tough and limited. Worth a stop when your in the area.

The views of Columbia and its valley are beautiful in every direction other than the building itself.

Even during a Sunday afternoon in July we were able to find parking with little fuss. There's a small museum and cafe in the basement.

First time to be here. The drive up the winding road is worth it. Got to enjoy the view of the ginormous and mighty Columbia River and other great views up on the top.

Could not go inside. Took someone who had never been there. Looks like there's some construction going on.

Beautiful place to see the views - bbbbbbut not sure what you'll get because of 'people'.

People filming tiktoks with speakers blasting music and blocking stairs / views.

Cars parking where they are not supposed to and blocking people, reving engines, and others driving by speeding past where people walk.

Teenagers drinking and setting off illegal fireworks - it isn't the 4th of July either. Does anybody remember the huge fires previously? Seriously upsetting and freaking people out. They didn't care that people were upset about it. A few people were calling police, but I'm not sure if anyone came to stop it. We didn't see any while there.

There needs to be some type of respect for the area or a security guard, maybe? But sadly, disrespectful people are ruining it for others.

I think the view is amazing and worth a go, but be careful it might not be a peaceful place to view. There are other pulloffs in the road to catch a sunset, luckily.

A great overlook high above the Columbia River. Parking was surprisingly adequate. The overlook building was clean and well maintained but had some work in progress. The site was well staffed and limited exhibits were interesting.

Very beautiful structure with breathtaking views of the Columbia river gorge, a definite must stop. Very nice staff sharing the history of the building with you as you enter. There is a coffee shop and a gift shop downstairs. Also be sure to drive the historic highway.

Absolutely spectacular. The views from this location are amazing, one of the best in Portland. Mountains, water scenic highway all in one location. The Vista building itself is a timeless treasure. When you go downstairs it shows the history of the area along with a gift shop. You have the option to walk upstairs or if you a disability security will let you ride the elevator. From the balcony you get to lookout over the area. On the backside of the building are stairs that allow you to sit and view as well.

A beautiful stop along the I-84 freeway to stretch your legs, walk around, and grab a coffee and snack inside the historic building. The views of the Columbia River Gorge are spectacular and well worth the 10 minute drive from the freeway.

Was a beautiful place. The view is incredible. It's totally worth going to see. The view alone is a sight. For first-time visitors, it's a must-see. Great view to see the state of Washington across the Columbia River.
