West Salem Family Practice is the greatest. I’ll start with Dr. Heidi Thomas, she is the best! She is not one of the best, she is, hands down, the very best Doctor a person could have. She is thorough, and when she feels your need is beyond her scope of expertise, she is quick to refer you for tests, or a specialist if needed.
Her assistant, Adri, is that good as well. Truly a fantastic team. Honestly, I am so glad I was able to find this clinic and it’s one of Salems best kept secrets. Actually, the staff at WSFP are phenomenal as well. From the receptionists to the phlebotomists they are all great. No matter who you talk to when you call, they are personable, yet professional, and every call it is dealt with in a timely manner. Absolutely, I have and will continue to recommend other folks to the clinic. Yep, they are that good!

Dr. Scherlie is excellent provider. He is thorough, never feels rushed, provide recommendations on specialized providers when needed, explains details to really understand any questions or care provided. Staff at West Salem are also helpful and efficient.

I’ve had a positive experience with Dr. Beam and the healthcare staff at WSFP. They’re skilled and professional healthcare providers. I recommend them so you can have the same benefit from the high level of care and professionalism.

I saw Dr. Scott Bean and explained to him my concerns and he just ignored it. He was very arrogant about it and refuses to listen to my opinions. I was treated very poorly and left the clinic feeling unheard and not respected. He is a very young PCP that is not well-grounded in basic medical science. Does not think about logistics, so it is very hard to trust him with his medical advice. Please save yourself some time by not going to see him for your primary care.

Dr. Scott Bean does not know how to treat patients. He clearly lacks education and experience. Saw him a couple of times for type 2 diabetes with an a1c of 15 and blood sugar over 360 and all he did was put me on metformin. I told him to start me on insulin but he refused and says
"trust me, patients that are on metformin, their a1c will go down in a couple of months, you will be fine. " Please seek help from an endocrinologist instead.

Never had a bad experience coming into this office every single person has been kind and helpful. I truly enjoy going to see each and every person.

I have been going here since I was born practically. I love this practice. Sometimes there is a little wait time but that does not happen often. I appreciate my doctor is helping others so I don't mind. I love being able to see my doctor or able to see the nurse practioner too when I need to be seen sooner. They also offer same-day appointments which is very helpful. I definitely recommend this practice and will be sad when my doctor retires! Can't say enough good things!

This clinic requires an application to “apply” as a patient. They then use your health as a reason to say if they can provide care for you under the reasoning that family practice doctors at this location will or wount be able to “support you. ” I was also told it takes nearly two weeks to review these applications, I was then called less than 24 hours later and denied. Based on what I included in my health application, I can assume they used to determine the providers willingness to support. Additionally, they only see “males and females” hope you fall into one of these categories (based on the application you can only fall into either category). My family and I all together shocked at their practice.

Helpful, compassionate care. I felt heard and was given some steps to begin addressing my concerns.
