Wheeler on the Bay Lodge

One of the first things I confirm when staying at a lodge, hotel or VRBO are the beds. Wheeler at the Bay by far had the best and most comfortable beds! The rooms were so clean and well prepared. There is a lot of time and pride put into the preparation of the rooms. Martha and Gordon are just wonderful and so hospitable! Location is perfect for fishing, crabbing or watching the sunset with a glass of wine! We will be back and we are excited to share with friends and family!

We've stayed in quite a few hotels and AirBnBs on the Oregon coast and this one is by far the best! The owners, Martha & Gordon, are both super friendly and help you out with anything under the sun. Our room was very clean and well maintained. The view out of the front deck overlooking the Nehalem River and the whole bay is out of this world - I think I spent 6 hours just sitting there and relaxing, you literally can't find a better spot. They also let you kayaks for free and this is a super awesome place to kayak. We will come back again!

This is such a great place to stay! I would highly recommend it. We stayed in the Otter Room and it was so cute and very modern. The owner was very nice too!

We were delighted by our experience. The room was clean and comfortable. We loved the beautiful view of the bay with colorful flowers and fantastic birdwatching. The owners were incredibly warm and helpful, offering kayaks, a huge curated movie library, charcoal for grilling, great local recommendations and snacks galore. A perfect spot for a peaceful weekend.

Great location, very decently priced. Loved the dock by the lake, perfect for drinking coffee in the morning. Owners were super nice and everything was so cute and clean. Slept in the most comfortable bed ever. Would definitely stay again.

Just what I need to release stress with jacuzzi in my room. Omg I can't wait to go back. They have a place to park my boat and a dock to leave the boat overnight to go Crabing next morning.a perfect gift for yourself or your family who deserve the best.

Quiet town at the beginning of the week. Great place to kayak in the early morning when the water is calm

This is a hidden gem on the coast. So many great things to say about this place. Firstly, location! The bay is gorgeous and peaceful, the little town of wheeler is charming and quaint. Martha was incredibly organized and helpful, a great communicator and very accommodating when I needed to make last minute changes to our room. The beds were comfy, room was very clean and had lots of little touches, she gave us a basket of goodies to take back to our room, which we enjoyed. She has an adorable dog who greeted us when we arrived. We will definitely be back!

The cleanest motel and room I have ever stayed in (this includes high end hotel rooms). The view and accommodations are great, as well as selections for breakfast and snacks. Martha takes great care of this lodge and look out for Birdie, the sweetest dog who will come over for head scratches and belly rubs.

Such a sweet find. Was so nice to be away from the more touristy beach areas. So much more for the money, too. And I'll take this river view any day! Watched seals, eagles, herons and many other birds, all right by the dock. Sadly, ran out of time so didn't get to kayak but would have been a beautiful paddle, and so convenient. The owners are fantastic, so fun and interesting to talk with. The place is immaculate, not a detail forgotten, and impeccably clean. Many things nearby to do- good food, shops, and right at the train stop for the scenic coastal ride. We loved everything about this place and will definitely be back!

This little gem is worth every penny. The room was amazing, (we stayed in #9), the semi private deck was very cozy and the Nehalem River is nearly under your feet. We played some board games, (best variety offered by your hostess, Martha.) and soaked in the double person jacuzzi before drifting off to sleep listening to the splash of the bay. The kitchen was well stocked and every detail was observed. We can't wait to stay again!

Amazing! Great place to take kids to fish and get away. The rooms are amazing and beautiful.

Wonderful find for an overnight. Nicely decorated and fun, with plenty of grills and right on the water. Staff was so friendly and nice and helpful if you forget anything. A great place to call home for the night. We will definitely stay here again.

I almost never leave reviews. This place blew me away with pure joy. The most wholesome experience that I've had at a hotel/lodge/resort, in a really long time.

We picked this place on a whim because we could not find many places available for a spontaneous weekend get away. I am SO glad we booked a room here. The customer service was AMAZING. They give you snacks, drinks, breakfast, popcorn, and SO many movies to pick from. The view is WONDERFUL. Room was so clean and the bed was very comfortable. Only down fall was we were unable to use the jetted tub because the water pressure was to low to fill up the tub in a timely manner. However everything else made up for that and it is still a win for me! We will be back!
