I had my first visit to this office today. I had not had a cleaning since 2009 and have a lot of dentist anxiety. The staff at this location were nothing but lovely and supportive. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Mikayla was the hygienist who cleaned my teeth. She was very sweet and accommodating to my anxiety. She did a stellar job at checking on me, explaining to me what she was telling the assistant and what the "code words" meant. She offered me a numbing gel when I told her I was experiencing pain. Super lovely and sweet lady - would highly recommend scheduling with her!

THANK YOU FOR BEING SO SWEET, QUICK AND TAKING AWAY MY FEAR OF THE DENTIST! This is my fifth visit to the Jefferson office. I am deathly afraid of dentists. I came here up until my visit before last-crying, anxious and hardly prepared to be worked on. I was locked in my childhood dentist trauma. But these last two visits my trust finally sunk in. I COULD RELAX. I’ve had a lot of work done here. And have quite a bit more to do. I am so happy to have found Dr. Peterson’s HEALING HANDS and ALWAYS CHEERFUL and LOVELY STAFF!

I was mostly really enjoying this office and my visits there until Dr. Jaferian left me in tears during my last one. I came in with awful pain in my teeth and gums, she gave me an at-home remedy that only made my bruxism worse. On the second visit she told me that she did NOT give me that remedy and that I should be doing something else. I was upset because it's not like I made up that remedy in my head, I got it from her. She got defensive, rude, and implied that I was making up the pain. She then asked me if I wanted a second opinion and stormed out of the room. Dr. Peters came in and was calm and helpful. It was such a weird, unnecessarily dramatic experience. Not to mention I was in pain so that didn't help the situation. The office staff and the dental assistants, on the other hand, are really lovely and helpful. I just wouldn't recommend Dr. Jaferian to anyone.

This office has always seen me promptly, and the staff are very efficient and welcoming. I have had nothing but good experiences at what is usually a stressful time. Currently, full COVID precautions are in effect, including sanitizer at the door, plastic barriers at reception, well-spaced chairs for waiting, and a pre-dentistry antiviral mouthwash.

Just started going to a new dentist and my new dentist was blown away that my old dentist at Willamette Dental said coming in only once a year was ok. He’s been in the field 25+ years and has never heard that recommendation. Would never recommend Willamette to anyone

I don't usually review dentists or doctors or anything like that, but these guys were so great I just had to post something.

I'm fifty-five and though I take very good care of my teeth, I've had a lot of fillings and caps over the years. I also grew up in the seventies when dental care wasn't quite as comfortable as it is now, so I harbor a fair amount of anxiety with regard to dental visits. So, when I had my first appointment with Willamette Dental, for a a cleaning and appraisal of a tooth with a lost filling, I was not super stoked about the whole process. But when I got there, everyone was so efficient and kind. They had all their COVID protocols in place and easy to understand, and the receptionist was super nice and friendly. Things are so weird these days with the virus and everyone so angsty, I always appreciate a friendly face and a warm demeanor.

The dental hygienist that saw me was so patient and thorough, I don't think my teeth have ever been so clean! And when the doc came in she was very kind and patient and explained everything to me clearly. Upon leaving I made an apt to have the lost filling replaced.

Two weeks or so later, I went in to have the filling done and once again everyone was lovely. And filling was done in a flash! Seriously, like 40 minutes! All the staff members worked together as a team and took turns numbing me up (very painlessly) and doing the drilling, and then filling the tooth. They all worked so well together and as a bartender and long time service professional, I love to see a great team all helping each other to make their customer - or in this case, patient - happy.

So, if you need to go to the dentist and it's not your favorite thing, go to Willamette. They'll take good care of you. And if going to the dentist IS your thing, hey, have it. These guys won't disappoint.:)

I have gone to this office for about three years. The front office staff are knowledgeable about insurance and pricing. They have modern technology and xray machines. It's very clean and runs on time. They staff are professional and friendly. They do a really good job of explaining themselves as they work. I appreciate the report card summary they handed me at the end of the visit so that I know what to focus on. Thank you Juan, Mimi, Dr. Metz and the nice lady up front!

I rarely leave reviews but. I was told they will no longer clean my teeth twice a year after going to them for three years. I have seen a dentist twice a year for the past 20 years. But they will continue to collect my insurance premiums but only provided half an expected service. They also told my wife this and will not see my children twice a year. Now looking into other dental insurance options to find d a better provider.

What kind of Dentist place the make so much $$$ from ripping off their clients insurance companies, but can't provide coffee for their clients. Cheap and poor customer service.

My husband arrived over an hour early for his emergency appointment & they failed to check him in. He was in extreme pain & when everyone was being called back but him we asked & found out they never checked him in. Not the time to forget about a patient after he has been suffering over 24 hours with a toothache!

Great staff. Friendly and welcoming. It is extremely easy to make an appointment via phone call. Then when you get in, they are quick to get you through your appointment.

Scheduling is a nightmare. Went in for a routine checkup over a month ago, found that I needed a root canal (no pain at the time) so went ahead and scheduled the initial pulpectomy later that week with the actual root canal three weeks later. Was not told there would be any complications from the pulpectomy, but immediately suffered sever pain that required emergency intervention. Worse pain of my life, had to drive to the outskirts of Vancouver for an emergency appointment where they prescribed me opioids which did nothing for the pain and sent me on my way. I had to call three times begging to have them see me before they were able to find a cancelation a week later for the actual root canal. Temporary filling in, the buildup was scheduled for over a month later. Fast forward to a week before my appointment, I'm sick and coughing so I called to reschedule, the earliest available appointment is yet another month away. Called Gentle Dental and they can do the work the next week. Guess Willamette Dental doesn't want my business.
Also, asked multiple times before starting the first procedure what the cost would be. Didn't get a price until right before going into the pulpectomy. When I walked out of that procedure suddenly the price was double for everything. Apparently their staff quoted me the wrong insurance rate.
They're friendly but incompetent. Not going back. Probably doing them a favor for being able to schedule their other patients.

Update:
Spoke to the office manager, she apologized for my experience but not sure if they're going to take any actions to correct this in the future. Another point of concern: my new dentist told me the x-rays they received from Willamette Dental were woefully inadequate, took a new set, and are now filling 6 additional cavities they found. Willamette found 1 cavity, filled it, and was going to send me on my way for 6 months. I've either received substandard care from your office or my current dentist is being overly cautious - I'm inclined to believe the former given my experience. Not necessarily accusing you of negligence at this point, but I'm curious to hear your response.
