I went in with a lot of pain in my intestines have lumps that I could feel threw my clothes. And they made me wait over two hours in the waiting room. Waited so long I ended up going to another hospital. While I was there a patient came in with a confirmed case of covid 19 and they sat him down in the waiting room "witch isn't a big deal I'm in the emergency room " but when he got helped they never came and cleaned the chairs that him and his family members sat in. They didn't clean the chairs he sat in to talk to the receptionist or in the waiting lobby and other people sat in the same chair that they didn't disinfect bottom line is that place needs to be cleaned thoroughly

Recently had surgery here. These people work as a team. Everything went above my expectations from preop to post op. Spotless hospital. Attentive, personable nurses and staff. Employees exude professionalism and compassion.

HORRIBLE hospital. I know personally a few people who’ve almost died in there due to how ignorant the staff here are. In case of any emergencies, I would hold off going to this hospital for anything serious.

I am an Oregon resident living in McMinnville. I am scheduled to have surgery at your facility on January 22,2021

To understand the issues, I am starting at the beginning. On November 30,2020 I was scheduled for an Upper GI test. I went to the appointment, checked in with admitting, and waited for them. Upon providing my photo ID and insurance card, I was immediately told that they were not familiar with my health insurance. The representative then spoke with her claim’s manager Amber Deardon who told them my insurance was not accepted as the hospital did not have a contract with The Health Plan, which is a self-funded plan, thru PHCS network. I was informed that I would have to pay for the test myself if I wanted to continue. I had no choice but to sign the form as this test was medically necessary.

This same day I called my insurance company and was given information that clearly showed the representative misspoke. I then went back in person and met with Amber to inform her of what I was told as I knew the health issue I am having would result in surgery. Amber informed me that the hospital does not have to accept my insurance. She went on that I have a horrible plan, that they do not pay their claims. I simply said I spoke with my insurance company and they informed me that my plan is a self-funded plan, it is designed for large corporations that have employees spread thurout the United States, and that I can receive medical care at any hospital in the United States. It was explained to me that they pay on the State Medicare rates. Amber told me that if all hospitals accepted these plans, then they would be broke. I was in tears at this point as I knew I was scheduled for surgery. Amber told me that I would have to come in as a private pay with at least 50% of the cost, not what the insurance allows but the full price. She said I would be given a cash discount, but 50% down payment would be required. At this point the conversation ended and I left and went home to continue making other calls. I was assured by my insurance that the surgery was covered, and that they will pay the charges once billed, and I was ok.

Fast forward to January 4,2021 Amber called me. She asked for me to send her a copy (front & back) of my insurance card as she was seeing what she could do, as she sees I am scheduled for surgery. On January 8th I was scheduled for pre-op at the surgeon’s office, and then the hospital. I went to the hospital, and Amber came out and told me that my insurance was not contracted and that I had to pay a cash price of at least 24,000 to have the surgery. I told her that is not true, this is not what the insurance company has said, in fact I had just received a letter showing that they approved the surgery

I am being discriminated by your hospital due to my insurance. The insurance I have does not require a contract with the hospital.i have been discriminated because of my insurance. Amber said to me that if I was brought in through the ER then they would have no choice but to cover me. This surgery is for my health and is needing to be done.
This tells me that anyone in McMinnville, the older residents, "retirees" cannot have hospital care if there is Medicare, that is what Amber was saying as she said the hospitals will go broke, and how can they survive.

I was discriminated against, and I am not going to be quiet over this. My health is too important to me.

Sincerely,

Ellen Salazar

The wait in the E. R is horrendous.even after they call you back it'll still take an hour to see a doctor. I was told I had abnormal pap smear test results and was told to come back in 6 years or I could wait longer give it maybe 10 years.they have nothing but idiots working there who put your health at risk every single day.disgusting!

They sent my bill to debt collectors without ever asking me to pay, and they failed to include my insurance information so my insurance was never charged, even though I know for a fact they had my insurance information and even scanned my insurance card. Having to go through the debt collector to sort all of this out has been a huge pain that could have been avoided if they just would have asked me to pay to begin with.

I am a surrogate I have been going to this hospital since the start of it. I have to get blood work done and I also have to get the lining of my uterus checked and my egg follicles. Now I've never had a problem with my egg follicles coming back wrong, however the numerous times I have gone in to get my lining check they always get it wrong! I know it's wrong because I go to my fertility clinic and my linings perfectly thick enough. This is a big bill and I'll waste of my time you guys need to make it clear that you do not know what you're doing when it comes to that so that people don't waste their time.

I could not be happier. I have used several of this hospital's services. They, by far, have made me feel informed, cared for, listened to, and taken very good care of here. I have had major surgery, mammograms, lab work, x-rays, cat-scan, ultrasound, MRI, radiation, ob-gyn, and going in for another surgery. I am very grateful for the way they run this place. All I see is compassion, efficiency, professionalism. I truly believe the majority of healthcare providers and care takers there are happy to work there. I have not had a negative experience yet. In addition, with the way insurance is run in today's world, this hospital has explained clearly and accurately all billing and what to expect. I have insurance, good insurance by today's standard, but still enormous out of pocket expenses. They understand that and were willing to help me out with a payment plan. Thank you for hiring the right people and running a clean organization. Very proud that you all unionized. Although I understand the financial advantage of travel nurses, it never feels comforting to the patient. I want someone vested and well hursed in your policies and procedures. Plus, it is nice to see familiar faces and know that they care and are cared for which makes all run better. I believe the current trend of traveling providers has the potential for HUGE risk and liability. Having appreciated employees makes a huge difference in the quality of care and patient experience. Thank you

We had a wonderful experience when our daughter had a freak accident regarding her foot. The team was amazing and incredibly kind and fun to hang out with. We loved doctor Cronin and he was brilliant and made it so much less stressful. Our nurses were so sweet and gentle and all the guys who helped made our daughter laugh and not be so scared. The x-ray guys were awesome and the security gal made everything better with a giant stuffed animal for our hurting little girl. Thank you so much Willamette ER for being awesome!

Upon needing an ultrasound I asked how much it would cost, I was told $424, which I gladly paid at the time. I was told that this would be the only cost for the whole procedure. Four months later I was then charged $108 without any of my approval. Within a week of that I received a refund for that same $108; again without any calls from the hospital as to what was happening. I now have a bill for $108 from Mcminnville hospital. They just can’t seem to keep their numbers straight! When they mess up they don’t really care; an I’m still expected to pay this $108 that I initially was never told I had to pay. If you go inside the hospital and ask for anyone in the billing department to help, you will be told that no billing is done on site, this is a lie and a deterrent for them. Beware when dealing with Mcminnville hospital or any office within it!

The doctors in ER, the nurses in ICU, and technical medical staff in medical radiation were great, always answering my questions, concerned about my symptoms, doing everything to make me comfortable and going the extra mile. I love this hospital.

Got harrased by their very young security gaurd and was told to leave! Was parked 10 min hesitant to go in as I have no insurance. Had to leave and didn't have enough gas to make it to another ER. Seems like he would have asked if needed help.and is it illegal to sit in your car before you go in?

My mother came into WCMC via ambulance, around 7: 30pm, I got to the hospital at 8-815pm and they were planning on taking her for x-rays, they took her back for x-rays at 830, and by 11: 50pm we have just seen Dr. Jacobson (hes super nice just really slow and doesn't show a sense of urgency) we asked 3 times for an ice pack, and pain meds, when the dr finally came in he offered pain meds saying that the first round she got was quick acting but doesn't last more than an hr (so why did we have to ask multiple times in 3 hours) I highly recommend driving to Newberg for any kind of medical help.

Wish I had another option. From grumpy Connie at the ER intake to the lab tech who was bossy and opinionated I have had another irratating visit to the hospital in McMinnville. I called and left a message on Wed.for someone to call me back concerning costs of test. I heard nothing back by Sun.when I went in. Then I got nothing but excusses. Do your job.

The doctor and one of the nurses were very helpful. The remainder of the nurses seemed irritated because they had to do their job.

I am writing this review at one A. M.at another hospital. That’s how aggravated I am about Willamette Valley Medical Center.

I’ve been the the ER twice in the last three years. Once for my self three years ago, and then brought my wife tonight for some medical help.

When I went, it was Saturday night. I was in and out quick. Hardly any checking. I went in for some intense pain in my ears that literally had me moaning in pain. They checked my ears and said they didn’t see anything, but was probably just an ear infection and to go see my doctor on Monday. 8 hours later (Sunday morning), the pain was worse and driving me insane. I went to immediate care and the doctor there told me I had a horrible ear infection and couldn’t believe it when I told them what the ER doctor had told me.

Now tonight, I bring my wife to the ER. They quick diagnose her. They don’t run any scans or even touch her to diagnose the pain she was having in her back. They give her some medication and tell her the same thing they told me, see your doctor on Monday, then they send her home with me. When I get my wife home, she’s now in so much pain she can’t move to leave the front seat of our car. I decide to take her to the Newberg hospital out of desperation.

Now I’m sitting here getting ready to have my wife discharged. Magically, she’s not in pain any more. Or maybe it’s because the doctors here actually physically checked her out and diagnosed the correct medicine this time around. You be the judge.

Oh yeah, one more strike against Willamette Valley Medical Center. Tonight the NEWBERG hospital called over for my wife’s records to make sure they didn’t overdose her on medication from what the McMinnville hospital gave her 3 hours ago. It took McMinnville two hours to get the paperwork to the NEWBERG hospital. Seriously. I have no experience on working at a hospital, but that just seems stupid. We were just there and they decide to take their sweet time sending over records.

In case you can’t tell, I’m very aggravated at the McMinnville Hospital.

I will never go back to the McMinnville Hospital.

I got to my appointment on time and got checked in. Then i sat down to read a magazine. I no sooner sat down then my name was called to come back and see the doctor Philip b. Zald. MD.the nurse who took me back to the exam room was very friendly. She ask me all the medical questions im sure was routine to her. Seh then said the doctor would be in to see me shortly.
The doctor came in and was very polite yet professional. He examined my mouth to see if a dark spot that i saw him before for had gotton any bigger. I got a clean bill of health and he shook my hand and said good bye. I was in and out in about 1, half an hour. The doctor is a Ear, Nose and Throat doctor. I highly recommend comeing to see him if you have problems with you ear nose or throat!
