My little doggo started peeing red in Newport on a Saturday and this hospital was my only option. They charge 98 to admit your pet and will charge up to 1000 (worst case) to stabilize an animal with bleeding wounds etc.

I want to be very clear EVERY SINGLE PRICE AND POTENTIAL COST WAS VERY CLEAR. THEY WERE VERY UPFRONT AND ASKED ME BEFORE PROCEEDING.

A little tip.if your pet is having urine issues and you drive to the vet. DO NOT LET THEM PEE until the doctor can examine them. If you let them pee before the doctor can get a sample you may have to wait 5 hours before they can get another sample in order to do required tests.

My dog had a bacterial UTI and the vet performed a few tests to prove that. He went home with antibiotics and pain pills and was much happier the next day. Willa merge has called daily to check up on him and we found their care to be extremely good. I don’t have much emergency vet experience but 350 dollars for diagnosis, multiple tests, treatment, and drugs seems very fair. The two attached invoices include their high low estimate and the one with red is the final invoice.

If any of my pets have issues again and a normal vet isn’t available, I will absolutely come back.

I had to bring my dog here in the middle of the night from Eugene, and not only did they make sure we got the attention we needed, they didn’t charge us for looking at her. AND they got her in the next day. Regardless of the drive, I’d go here in a heartbeat every single time. It’s where I send all my clients on emergency as well.

Thank you VCA.

I 100% recommend this place. It is a little more pricey than other vets but you do get great service at anytime! 24/7 service. I started taking my pet Dixie back in December with seizures. They gave her the best care possible. Did everything they could to help her. Unfortunately my Dixie was ready to rest and had to be euthanized last week. The staff were amazing and supportive through the whole process. They are compassionate and truly caring and understand the parents emotions. From every phone call, from the process, even when picking up the ashes they were respectful, compassionate, caring. I can’t express how I appreciate them all ️ Thank You all for caring for my Dixie, you are amazing!

I appreciate the staff for being so friendly and taking in my cat fairly quickly considering she was throwing up and needed to be seen as soon as possible. However, my overall experience was not a positive one.

I felt like transparency was a big issue as I was unaware of how much everything would cost. I am new to Oregon and my cat needed medical attention, so I made an appointment because this place seemed to be one of the few taking in new patients right now. I understand that COVID affects business, but the communication and overall process was not productive. I wish I had been told how much everything would cost (or at least a rough estimate) initially when I reported what issues my cat was having to make an appointment. Granted, my cat gets very nervous at the vet and had to be put under sedation which did make the price go up so I understand that. The exam is fairly priced, but the X-rays, bloodwork, and other necessary injections were extremely expensive which made me upset because in the past, I have not had to pay that much. After finding out how much the total was, I got upset and started to get emotional because I could not afford it, but wanted to do everything I could to help my cat. I was able to get her an exam and some medication, but the necessities to find out what was wrong were totally out of range for me.

On top of this, while I was given an itemized receipt and allowed to confirm the services before they proceeded, I felt extremely rushed into making a decision even though I told the staff that it was important for me to consult my partner first. Again, I understand that it is a busy time, but it was completely unfair to have me make such a large financial decision so quickly and while my cat was in distress. I felt pressured to sign the paperwork without having the opportunity to ask questions or get the further clarification that I needed - not to mention I was still very upset during this and was not in the right mental headspace to make a decision like that which was fairly obvious considering that I was crying.

Overall, I am grateful that my cat is okay and was taken in, but I am extremely disappointed in the service I received and the fact that I felt coerced to pay a lot of money that I did not intend to for really no answers as to why my cat was sick.

I'm usually not the type to ever write a review, but I've been working customer service for over 15 years now, and whoever that nurse, or assistant was, should NOT be working a job that is supposed to make people feel comfortable bringing in their beloved pets in there to be put down. That girl did the complete opposite to me.

First off, $160 to put a rat down? Every place I've been to charged me no more than $60. Whatever. The place is a rip off I thought right off the bat.
And I never went to exotic vets or anything, just normal 24/7 pet hospitals, so, ya like I said, a RIP off.

The first nurse/assistant, whoever she was, was very sweet and went over my info with me, no biggie. I felt fine with her. Then the other nurse/assistant, whatever she was, came in. I got the vibe she was not a fan of rats what so ever. Usually when I have put down rats in the past, they ask if I need more time with my rat one last time and what not. I didn't even get a chance to hold my rat one last time because I had no warning when they were actually going to take her and that would be the last time I would ever see my rat alive.

She stood there awkwardly while I was trying to get myself together, and I was trying to at least pet my rat while my rat was in a carrier, to try to get some kind of last minute interaction with my rat. Instead of that nurse asking if I needed any more time and what not, she kept standing there and just staring. So, of course that made me anxious and felt rushed so I told her just to hurry up and just take my rat then. So she did, acted all weird grabbing the carrier from me. Which by the way, you couldn't even see my rat through the carrier so, not sure what that was about.

She comes back and hands me the carrier with my rat passed away in it and just hands her to me and says if I needed more time to stay in the room to feel safe enough to drive that would be fine, then just immediately turned around, and that was it. I didn't want to stay another minute in there how awkward it was and how horrible that made me feel. I left the room and there was no one at all to be seen at the front desk or anywhere else. Didn't feel comforted what so ever in that place. I just had to put down my best friend, and you're going to be like that? I felt horrible knowing I put my loved one in your guys' hands. My poor rat already was suffering enough, and that place made everything to me feel WORSE.

FYI, if you don't like EVERY animal, do NOT work in a place that involves animals. Maybe she is just an awkward person to begin with, not my problem. Have better customer service skills before you work at a place where I am "supposed" to trust in whatever you do with my animals. I am more upset about bringing my rat there than my rat actually passing away at this point. So, ya.thanks for making my experience with death worse.

Yesterday we took our dog in because we thought she had salmon poisoning. The doctor told me they would run a fecal as well as some blood to make sure her systems were ok. I agreed to that. A couple hours later they had called us to say that all the test were negative and that her blood looked great. We were told we could come get her and they were going to send us home meds for salmon poisoning as the vet thought that is what she likely had. I was shocked to be told that our bill was $625! We were given five different prescriptions for what was estimated to be a bacterial infection which costed $200 and $300 in testing leading to an inconclusive report. Our previous vet in TN would give us a heads up on expensive costs before doing them. That was WAY more than we had anticipated and a bit of a bummer since we really didn’t get answers as to for sure why she is sick. I believe they ran way too much unnecessary blood work and felt a bit taken advantage of. I highly suggest to see a different vet if in need, or be sure to ask for all costs upfront.

Although my former dog was well cared for, it’s the new puppy that raises WVH to new heights of service. They have made him so welcome that he hates to leave! They help me with problems large and small, medical, behavioral, and all puppy oriented. I live the “Puppy Package” of serving CEOs including exams and puppy shots. We’re ready for puppy kindergarten because of the service. Thank you all the Catherines and Sarah!

Dr Porter was great. Her male assistant [I wish I could remember his name] was great. The front staff were great.

We were very impressed with all of the staff for their efforts with Jax. Even though we lost him I feel we were treated extremely well and more importantly Jax was treated with kindness and professionalism. Thanks for being there when we needed you.

Brought my cat in for an emergency late on a weekend evening, all of the staff were prompt, caring and respectful. They were mindful of my cat's needs and also of my needs as an owner. I highly recommend for emergency care needs and I am so happy with them I intend to switch care for all of our vet needs.

The staff is really helpful and was attentive and gentle during a difficult time of making the choice to put my dog down. They do expext payment at time of service so care credit is welcome as well as other cash/credit forms of payment. Overall a good establishment.

I have been taking my two Boxers here for the last year and they are so happy. The staff treat them as if they're their doggos. Dr. Porter has helped me tremendously with every silly mom dog question there is!

My husband and our dog Goose were atttacked by a pit bull. We arrived around one in the morning and was greeted right away. They took such good care of my baby! It was so late but they worked hard to help our boy. It was a scary experience but being in the hands of Dr. Annie made us feel a lot better! Thank you for doing everything you could to help our baby.

I was very impressed at the emergency services provided especially since my furbaby Bud just got Nettured at Heartland Spay and Snip, the nurse was very sweet and the process was quick, Bud also flirted with her, even though they are expensive, they are worth the emergency price to pay to have too care for furbabies:) thank you again from me and Bud:)
