My friend and I had a wonderful time at the ranch for a weekend getaway from city life. It was a really nice eating a delicious pioneer breakfast with all the other B&B guests. The hosts were fabulous storytellers at breakfast. Having a hot shower and a really comfortable bed at night made our John Day Fossil Beds road trip even better. We also did the 1-hour horseback ride.

We didn't end up staying because my car broke down on our drive over, but I'm giving them five stars for the customer service and for being so accommodating and helpful. I'm not sure when I'll be back to the area, but when I am, I'll absolutely be staying here!

This guest ranch is a delight, as are the owners. Kara and Brian were superb hosts. They made sure we knew all the sites and happenings in the area, and were extremely gracious and accommodating. The setting was beautiful, serene, and quite private. The daily breakfasts were fantastic. My husband and I stayed 3 nights and hated to leave. We highly recommend!

The serene views at this ranch are to die for. If you’re looking to be away from noise, but still have Wi-Fi, this place is great. The breakfast in the morning was very great. I wish I was there in a clear sky day to see the stars. I’m sure that would have been a spectacular sight since there is no light pollution at the ranch.

If you want to rewind and reel in your family this is the place to go. Genuine kindness, hospitality, and sprinkle of heart- n- soul is what you'll encounter at this hidden diamond.

You its not often i leave 5 star reviews, but we had such an incredible time here.this is one of my favorite family memories we've ever made.this is a real ranch, not a dude ranch where people wear pretend costumes and make baked beans over a fire and sing songs around the campfire. This place is in the middle of nowhere, with probably the nicest family you will ever meet in your entire life.we came from portland, with our three kids age 6-13.we booked horse rides each day, other than one day off where we went hiking and also dug our own fossils (highly recommend!) to bring home with us.my kids had never really ridden (i'm the only rider in our family, but it was 20 years ago) and all my kids were on horseback riding well on day 1.horses were exceptionally well trained.we went to check on the baby calfs in all the pastures each day on horseback, they took us up to a ridge and saw an old native grinding stone, watched the sunset.breakfast was amazing (cooked fresh for us! From scratch!), and there was also a kitchen on the property that we could use to make our own meals which we did take advantage of, as i was on a strict elimination diet while there.did i mention how amazing this family was? One evening they taught our kids to rope.definitely stay here, you will NOT regret it.

Went away to spend a few days writing for work, and a regular guest of the Wilson's Ranch Retreat referred the place to me. What a dream!

Just the nicest staff, clean and super comfortable rooms. Private bathrooms, soft beds, and just an amazing breakfast served at a table outside with the expanse of the valley around us as a view.

I cannot say enough good things about the place. If I only had a few more days to stay! I kept wine in the fridge, big extra kitchen fully stocked if I wanted to make my own meal, outdoor tables and BBQ for relaxing! Horses, trails, moves, etc. So well run and I will say it again.the staff from check in to check out was the best!

We had an amazing time with the kids on the ranch: sunset horseback riding through the acres of golden valleys and warm B/B hospitality!

This is a perfect place to really unwind. Stunning scenery. Wonderful hosts. Huge breakfast feasts. Healthy and well trained horses. Zero traffic! It's remote in the best sense. We enjoyed a perfect mother/daughter vacation.

Atmosphere, food, horses & cows, oh my.you can find two out of three of those in lots of places; the people who run this ranch operation are second to none. Kara, Brian and the rest of the Wilson ranch team are wonderful people who will treat you like family. FIVE STARS, REALLY.

This ranch is a wonderful gem. The accommodations were comfortable; there is nice outdoor space, with beautiful views, for each unit; and there is a kitchen area along with picnic tables and BBQs. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast filled us up for most of the day. We woke up early each day, went fossil digging, and came back in time for the delicious breakfast at 8 a.m. This is a great location and there is plenty to see and do within driving distance every day and the staff will give you information about things to see and do in the area at breakfast.

Rustic, country style bed and breakfast. Clean and small town hospitality. Horse riding is a must at this working ranch!

I only just got here and the hospitality is just amazing. It's so quiet and lovely. The farmhouse is adorable and you can tell that a lot of love goes into making this a special place. Add on the charcuterie plate and any of the other special add-ons you will not be disappointed. This is a working ranch and you will be exposed to some amazingly hard working people. I can't wait for the horse ride tomorrow.

Very comfortable western style bed and breakfast. Reasonably priced rooms and friendly staff. Outdoor barbecues and smokers available. Nice mountain views. Overall a great place to stay, located just outside of Fossil Oregon.

We had a wonderful, three-night stay in January 2021 at Wilson Ranches Retreat. We had a warm reception from the family. Dima, made sure we had everything we needed when we arrived. Kara greeted us at breakfast in the morning and was a wealth of knowledge about the area, it’s history, where to eat, and most importantly to us, where to explore! We took Kara up on nearly all of her suggestions and were not disappointed. Kara and everyone at the ranch were delightfully hospitable
and helpful. We learned a lot about Central Oregon in our short visit, and most of the credit is due to our interactions with Kara.

We stayed in the Homestead Room; which had more beds than we needed, but we LOVED the natural wood fireplace. This room would be ideal for a family. Breakfast was delicious and filling and varied each morning. We needed that fuel for all of our long days cycling. We had all the fresh coffee we desired, even before breakfast. We were comfortable in our room. They have a kitchen just for guests; which we used a lot. Everyone who worked at the ranch was friendly to us and observed the proper pandemic protocols. Cyclists are welcome!

The ranch itself is gorgeous. I highly recommend exploring the canyon down Butte Creek Road to its terminus.
