The worst rental experience I have had. If you move here, pray you won’t need emergency maintenance because they never respond. I have called emergency maintenance for multiple maintenance emergencies and they never show up. I called them twice for my bathroom sink…never showed up and they also never follow up. The heat has gone off MULTIPLE times this winter. On one occasion the heat was off for 3 days in the coldest weather. The elevators are always broken. We moved in by stairs because the elevators were broken on our move-in day. To this day the elevators still break almost every week. Cars always parking in undesignated spots. Overall horrible management and organization.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! We must have different ideas of what LUXURY means. The gnat infestation is horrible, the laundry room smells of mold and mildew, the yoga room has been locked for months and when asked, no one in the office knows anything. To top it off, NONE of the elevators are working. NONE! I had to carry all my luggage and groceries up 6 flights of stairs and of course no one is answering the phone in the office. I’ve requested a copy of the elevator certificate several times and have been completely ignored. To top it all off, they keep increasing the rent. They only care about the Estate building which has been newly renovated while the Manor building is left to rot. Any positive review is most likely from someone in the Estate building or they were paid to write it. Moving here was the worst decision I’ve ever made. I’ll be contacting the Attorney General and anyone else who will listen about the many violations in this place. STAY AWAY!

Myself and other tenants have been out of hot water for over a month. I have spoken to the office over and over again, and keep getting the response that "they are coming tomorrow to work on it" and that "we are waiting on a part". In case you were thinking about moving here, I would not choose this apartment complex again.ever.

I hate living here and can not wait until our lease is up there are 3 elevators and two of them have been broke since like November/December I have a child in the stroller and I’m on the 7th floor so I have to take a elevator in the morning my son keeps missing his bus because there is so many people trying to get on to go to work or school and we also share the elevator with the cleaning people it’s ridiculous it takes about 5-10 minutes just to get downstairs also my sink keeps breaking it broke on thanksgiving, on Christmas, and it’s broke again I called Monday and no one came out I am still dumping buckets of water no one cares but they made sure to notify me about rent they only care about the money more elsewhere

DO NOT RENT HERE! I am a disabled man and living with my son. Any good review is old, a lie, or from the Estate building. Students are given the nicer amenities while families are screwed over and places in the rotting old NOT RENOVATED Manor building. They are not equipped for disabled people, the elevators do not work most of the time, they lie to you about fixing things, rodents are everywhere. There is NO SECURITY, and maintenance is useless. They will try to trick you. Moving here is a mistake! You have been warned.

I normally don’t write bad reviews as I attempt to resolve issues directly with companies. Also, I’m in this field and empathize but, I also understand the power of proactively communicating with tenants when issues arise. This does not happen here and in speaking with other tenants, this is where a lot of the anger and frustration comes in. I will say this and give credit. Within my apartment, I have minimal complaints. They are normally handled in a timely manner. I’ve lived here since 2019 and have been through three property management companies and two owners. No building is perfect but, this place has gone down, exponentially.

The only working elevator (s) in the Manor building are down at least once a month. There are a couple down now. One elevator feels and sounds like a roller coaster. I’ll never get on it again! On Christmas Day we woke up to having no elevators in services. This is an eight story building and we have children, sickly people, and elderly people here. People are always getting stuck in them.

Concierge is supposed to be on site throughout the day. There is no one currently at the desk. This happens all the time. I had packages delivered for the holidays and could not get them because there was no one to retrieve them. We woke up Thanksgiving Day to no heat and hot water. When I left at 3pm, there was still no heat or hot water.

Someone set a fire in the trash room twice and we were never notified. I’ve asked for information regarding this and was told it was under investigation and they could not divulge any information. I also asked for contact information for the Property Manager and someone above them and was told I could not have that information.

There is exposed mildew and mold throughout the building.

One of the doors to the property has cracked glass in it and being reinforced by caution tape. It’s been broken for a couple of months and we have yet to be notified of the resolve.

Doors/Locks here are often broken which presents a security risk.

While I understand that in some cases, some issues are out of landlord/management’s control but, they can at least provide the services they’re being paid for. They’re paid to provide working and accessible amenities, a safe building, proactive communication, etc, They’ve failed in all these areas.

I am frustrated, stressed out, and unfortunately anxious living here. You literally never know what will happen on the day to day basis. Their answer is always, they’re sorry and the building will be renovated. Upgrading the building won’t fix issues, there are issues with the landlord and management’s lack of care and concern for the building and people who live here! The lack shows in the way they treat tenants and constantly put bandages on problems. I can assure you this is not a luxury building. Old York Holdings and AJH are terrible at what they do. I will NOT be renewing my lease this year. I’ve only given you a glimpse of what has transpired in the last few months. I have multiple concerns and personal experiences that validate every single negative comment on here. The positive reviews are likely from those who live in the other building or possibly fake because everyone I’ve ever spoken with has a complaint. I wish I could leave like tomorrow but, won’t breach contract. I wish they cared about breaching the contract as much as I do.

THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE. DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS BUILDING. Not enough parking for tenants and there is no off street parking and they have tenants vehicles towed regularly. Cockroaches and bedbugs are everywhere and the staff will do little to nothing to help you. Also black mold is present and visible in the lower floors. Elevators break down regularly and if you live on one of the higher floors you will be forced to climb many many flights of stairs. The building is supposed to be non smoking but cigarette smoke can be smelled on every floor and the police are there several times a week.

Another package was not found and lost in this house. Last week I could not receive my package for more than 5 days. DO NOT HIDE THE package IN THE ROOM IF YOU HAVE NO ONE SITTING AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE! You keep my possessions in a locked mail room and I can't pick them up at my convenience. I keep seeing the note “I’ll be back in 15 minutes”, but not in 15 minutes, not in an hour or 2 hours, no one is sitting there. I'm tired and I'm disappointed. This is rudeness!

Have not had hot water in 2 months going on 2 and half. Issue does not even seem to be a top concern for them.

Third time trying to say they’re under new management since the fire Marshall shut them down in 2015. They’re still owned by the same slumlord corporation and have fixed nothing.

The fact that they’ll incentivize you to post a positive review when you sign your lease is all you need to know about these greedy scam artists. They do not care about you. Run.

When AJH management took over not too long ago a lot of things changed. They keep the grounds very clean, before there was always all this trash. My requests I put in are always done fast, and gabby from the leasing office always follows up with me. The new team is just all around great! I don’t plan on moving out anytime soon!

I lived here 2 years
UPDATE: The new management made everything worse. For the online rent payment website I had to use a wrong address to pay my rent, and I can't pay my utility bills online. In the year 2021 I have to write out a check and send it to you? On the bill it says "go paperless" so I signed up for a dumb website for no reason (all you can do is view your bill). It's paperless for them, not you. Why is there 2 websites anyway? I use to be able to pay my utilities and rent on the same website. I can't wait to move out of here. I really didn't think the management of this building could get worse, then it did.

Fix the water leak on the 7th floor and I’ll change my review. I have emailed you twice (no response, thanks) and told you once in person. It smells because of it.

The management at 100 Old York is great I ran into a few problems and they helped in everyway they could. I don't just feel like another tenant but that they do actually care about the people they rent to!

It's Thanksgiving with no heat or hot water AGAIN. Calling doesn't help. Whenever there is a problem, we have to call the city to make them fix it. DON'T RENT HERE. It's a dump.

Don‘t move here! They don‘t have enough parking spots and we keep getting towed. $315 each time. Plus, 2 people died from the heat in the upper floors. It‘s 86 degrees in my apt. They no longer have security, so anyone can just come in and kill us or rob us. This place is a nightmare you can‘t wake up from. I am getting a lawyer!

I’ve lived at 100york going on 2 years now and I’ve only had good experiences here. My maintenance requests are always addressed promptly and taken care of. The amenities are a plus too! When I call the office everyone is very nice and always makes sure my issues are resolved, especially Gabby at the front desk. She’s always pleasant and helps me with my concerns. I would recommend this place to anyone!
