12Can’t speak for the golf course but the food and service at The Farmer’s Table were phenomenal. That restaurant is worth a membership right there. We’re definitely foodies, and we were blown away by the food. Went for our anniversary last night with friends, tomahawk for 2, filet, scallops & pork chop were all superb, as were the desserts. We will definitely be back!
Name change and price increases haven't changed the course. It's still the same old Scenic Valley. Cart paths are rough, and the bunkers are full of rocks. Beer at $30 a six pack must be paying for the new clubhouse. You can't put lipstick on a pig.
Review as of the new 1791 club. Clubhouse and dining was excellent following the round (dining with a “member”). Membership options are reasonably priced, but offer very little than access to the restaurant and some golf - which candidly, isn’t a great golfing experience. Doesn’t seem like investment in the course, but the clubhouse experience only. It’s far from a 60 dollar a round course. Greens are fairly nice, but bunkers, fairways, and overall course maintenance isn’t great. For dining, a lovely venue, just not much of an offering as far as golf goes. Your membership is giving you a mediocre golf course and access to decent dining.
$7 for a hot dog at the turn? Atrocious. Course was in good shape but plenty of other courses I’d rather play for the price point.
Honest review of the golf course. For the money the course is fine $45-$50 range. Played today for the first time in years since prior name and ownership change. I had hoped some changes were made on the course but it is clear most of the money went into the clubhouse.
The greens may be the best part of the course. They roll somewhat smooth but are dreadfully slow. I had the displeasure of playing out of two green side bunkers today which were filled with hornets nest and rocks. Holes on the front nine don't allow Driver to be hit often enough with all the short doglegs and the back nine is just as unremarkable. Overall the course feels very cramped be sure to keep your head up and ears open on some of these holes out there. The layout is very hilly and if you struggle with side hill lies this is not the place for you.
Great course with a very different layout compared to most courses in the Pittsburgh area.
The course was in nice shape considering the lack of rainfall. Regardless the game was great, with fast greens, great company, and detailed service in the restaurant. The many amenities will keep this course on track for continued growth and development. A fine course!
The course is in fantastic shape. The golf carts can be annoying at times with the high pitched ding reminders. The clubhouse is very nice and has a relaxing atmosphere.
Came here tonight for a dinner with family, service was spotty at best, other families and mine had to get up and ask to get our orders taken due to servers sitting there talking and not acknowledging us. Bull was around 400 dollars and burgers we all ordered were differently priced and when we asked and got an answer which by itself was fine we then understood but the staff was abrasive about it and proceeded to blame the computer for the issue. I like the food but as far as customer service is concerned it’s abysmal
This place is fabulous. There is nothing else like it in the south hills. They have a true culinary team.
Course was in great shape for fall and enjoy playing it. Hope to be able to have time for the food next time as well as it looks to be fantastic.
Has potential. Tee boxes were horrendously chopped up. Fairways need more drainage. Cart paths are intermittently remnant of Pennsylvanian highways. Lots of focus on the membership amenities and the clubhouse. The course needs some love too.
