1884 Market House reviews
14Very dissatisfied with the store's handling of the situation. I bought a sewing machine that said "brand new" but when I brought it home, the handle wheel was jammed and would not turn at all. I called them and they said no returns, and the vendor was unwilling to take responsibility and so the liability was mine. The vendor said she wasn't going to entertain any refunds. There were other booths where it clearly said, items are antique and sold as is but this machine was labeled "brand new" and is thus misleading and untruthful. Think twice before shopping here. Grandma's House (Chambersburg), similar shopping concept, has been much better at handling customer complaints and expectations.
Awesome antique store it's much bigger than it looks and has wonderful people and a great vibe I will be returning very soon.
I love this place. The staff are super friendly and there is a big variety of stuff in the store. There are 3 floors so there is a lot to look at.
Friendly staff, charming atmosphere, music, rest rooms, little bit for everyone in antiques and current.
Very nice antique shop three levels of all kinds of stuff very friendly Staff Check It out!
Cool place three floors I didn't make all three floors but there was plenty to look at the customer service was great
Love the shop and the front desk ladys amazing place great selection of pokemon cards, yugioh, , for fair prices cant complain thier don't sleep on this place
My experience with the market house was getting hustled by Harry Morningstar. He stole $1,200 from my girlfriend promising her place he took her deposit and then refused to return the money when the place wasn't deemed up to inspection as per the original agreement since this has happened I've also found out that we aren't the first people he's done this to. We are having to spend $400 to sue him and civil court for he still refuses to return money. I gave it a two-star rating because I like antique markets and the lady upfront was nice.however the guy that runs the business is a crook and stole from me and my handicap girlfriend. As a small business starting out it's hard enough without people screwing you over. Let that be a lesson to anybody that deals with Harry Morningstar.
I love this place! Three floors of interesting items to browse and shop. What a great way to spend an afternoon! The ladies who work here are lovely and helpful, which adds to the pleasant experience!
I was visiting several Waynesboro antique stores today for the first time. I live in a different city and traveled in to see what antiques the town had to offer. 1884 has some cute booths and lots to see. However… By far, my most bizarre and unpleasant experience was at 1884 Market House. I went to check out with a candle lamp and the lady at the front dropped part of my lamp on the floor, breaking it. No problem - mistakes happen, right? But they refused to give me any kind of discount and told me I could go to Walmart and buy a replacement for the part THEY broke. Never before have I, the customer, been told to pay for a mistake that a store employee made! I will not be returning.
The tradition goes on in Waynesboro quality, friendly, clean and well organized maybe more shops like shiers and fayetteville flea market should give instructional classes that draw customer's.
Great selection of items. Worth taking a look around and seeing what's there. Friendly staff as well.
This is a must-see in Waynesboro. 1884 is THREE FLOORS of antiques, crafts, art, gifts, jewelry, and everything local. Plan to spend a couple of hours to shop, take selfies on the Skywalk, and grab a bite to eat. Staff is friendly and welcoming!
Lots to see. Never know what you might find. My friend found a beautiful set of dishes. Serving for four. Cost? $30. Go check the place out. If you don't find something when you go, try again.
