The monument to the 3rd Indiana Cavalry Regiment is located just north of the railroad cut where the regiment was positioned on the morning of July 1st 1863. The monument was dedicated by the state of Indiana in 1885. The front of the monument reads:

This monument is dedicated to the 3rd Indiana Calvary, 1st Brigade. It is one of several monuments in this area. Part of beginning of the battle near the railroad cut on July 1st.
