Academy of Music, Philadelphia PA

Great performance. We were sitting in the upper level and was disappointed with our seating. Very uncomfortable. The performance made up for it.

There were a lot of stairs to climb. I thought the tickets I purchased were on a lower level not the highest last row seats.

Seating sometimes tight. Productions beyond your wildest imagination! Beautiful venue, friendly staff.

Beautiful venue. But seats are small and not the most comfortable. Also, there are a lot of seats with obstructed view due to ornate pillars. Depending on where you sit, it may just be slightly obstructed, or directly in the center of your view. Just know this if getting the cheaper obstructed view seats. The sound is good and staff is very courteous.

The view from the sides of the amphitheater leaves a lot to be desired but the building, the beautiful theater and the chandelier are spectacular

I have attended several shows at the Academy of Music. Had a good time at every one, from comedy to Broadway productions. Wonderful ambiance in an old style theater.

Beautiful old theater with stadium seating! Stairs are steep and plentiful. Seats are very cramped and steeply pitched. It's an old theatre but beautifully maintained. Acoustics are good as well as the sight lines.

We saw Wicked and it was awesome. The facility is very good but we were cramped in the upper gallery.

Would probably have veen great, but the tickets were duplicates we got tossed after first act of Wicked. Plus seats were super tight. Old theater bad views unless you are rich.

This place is beautiful BUT I would advise NOT to buy Amphitheater seats, at least not the seats on the side, closer to the stage. The view is extremely obstructed. The amphitheater row is so high up and steep that in order to see the play from your seat you have to lean forward and try to see between the people sitting in front of you and through the lighting hanging from the ceiling. Oh and the railing is too high. Almost everyone sitting behind me ended up moving up to a closer seat or standing to be able to see. The design of this theater is super old therefore not made properly so that every seat in the house has a good view. I knew picking amphitheater seats would mean that I'd be higher up but little did I imagine how obstructed it would be. I could only see half the stage and that was with me sitting uncomfortable throughout the whole play. I would suggest spending a little more and perhaps not sitting past the balcony seats. And if you do sit higher up, try doing center seats and not the sides.

This is a fantastic Place Not only is the facility and the building incredibly beautiful but the plays are top notch.
