ACME Markets reviews
13I mean, it's a market. The deli worker had a bit of an attitude, but it was in the evening so perhaps she'd had a long day.
BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED THERE BUT ACME IS HIGHLY PRICEY ALWAYS HAVE BEEN, IF YOU ASK ANYBODY, WHAT IS THE HIGHEST PRICE MARKET? THEY WOULD SAY, ACME, BUT TO ME THEY HAVE QUALITY HEALTHY LOOKING MEATS, SEAFOOD AND FRESH FRUIT EVERY TIME I VISIT THEM AND EVERYBODY SEEMS SO PLEASANT, SO I DON'T MIND PAYING FOR FRESHNESS, CURIOUS, HELPFUL AND GRADE A FOODS FOR MY FAMILY!
This is a good supermarket and it's clean and busy and you know the turnover products so they do a good job keeping it up.
Acme is excellent if you like pre rotted fruits and vegetables and tasteless fruit you can't find a better place
Their front end manager at night is a sweetheart extremely helpful one of the best employees there!
Zero stars for the bakery. Last week I ordered the Pink Roses full sheet cake in red velvet for a pink-themed party. The day before pickup I received a call that they do not have red velvet. OK so we changed flavors. Upon pick up the cake was NOT PINK. It was decorated in blue, yellow and red. We were told the decorator wasn't working that day so it couldn't be changed. So much for our pink-themed party. Never again, ACME. Never again
I bought two items here. The cashier glared at me in a menacing manner but didn’t say a word. I felt like the employee’s behavior was racially motivated. I’ll never shop here again.
I was surprised that as a tourist I was not allowed to buy beer, because my ID was not American. I understand that the language is different, but the numbers are the same, the important thing is the year (1988!) old enough to buy a few simple beers.but my frustration was not that, it was the discriminatory treatment with which they treated me, assuming that because it was in Spanish language that it was Mexican… and then I ask, only if you are American you can buy a few beers in a supermarket?
Very nice grocery store. For the most part friendly, well stocked, and fast service. My only complaint is that I felt like I was being followed and watched by employees the whole time I was there. I'm not sure if they have had a lot of thefts lately but they were not even trying to hide it. It made me a little uncomfortable.
I recommend only shopping here later in the day when it’s empty. Self checkout is not great. The machines are always broken in some new way and there’s rarely a worker nearby to help. I’ve stood there waiting/holding up the line and have walked around the store looking for help from anyone several times. It’s very stressful. It could also use a sign indicating where to stand in line because people will just crowd up and jump in front of you. Also, very stressful. The selection is always decent though.
By far the best supermarket in Philadelphia is acme market. A far from the fact that the employees are very standoffish at this particular location
Great neighborhood staple grocery store. Clean, organized, with well-stocked shelves. Nice variety of fresh produce. Not a lot of check-out personnel, so a bit of a wait. Didn't see a self-check-out option. Friendly staff overall. Except for a very grumpy woman at the deli counter. I'll definitely shop here again.
Wow. Expensive. It's South St.though. If you're grocery shopping on South St.then I guess money shouldn't be an issue or you're a tourist.
