I visited this establishment several times. The first time I had 1500 down they told me I needed at least 2000, so I came back with 2000 and they had me test drive several cars saying they could work with the 2000. Then put me in multiple cars out of my price range after that we clarified I only had 2000 dollars down and I asked what cars could I get with that. They showed me a low mile Hyundai and said I only need 2000 dollars down for this one and then after test driving they raised the price 800 dollars and said they do not have any cars in the lot for 2000 dollars down despite what they told me the last two times I was here. This place is trying to take advantage of young people and does not follow through on their word.

Do not shop here!
The Active Auto teams advises customers to commit check fraud in order to get a higher down payment. Very bad business model, and this place should be shut down!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
I accompanied my friend to Active Auto on 3 separate occasions to purchase his first vehicle, and what a waste of time!
The first time we went there with $1000 down hoping to get him a new car, we knew it might be a little tricky because he has a new credit history and minimal job history. Ira was our initial sales rep… completely clueless and uninformed about almost every car in the lot.
We didn’t get the chance to run credit this first visit because it was later in the evening but we described to Ira the situation and he said to come back next week once he had 3 paystubs, and assured us he would be able to make something work. We come back the following week for our 2nd visit to Active Auto, we had Ira again and he ran credit and said he needed $2000 down to make any kind of deal. We had an allotted $1500 at this point for the down payment. Ira then informed us that we can actually write bad check for the title and tags to the state… giving us directions on how to commit fraud, insuring us that the state would not cash the check for 2 weeks, lol what a joke! We knew that was obviously not an option because we were not desperate enough to commit fraud despite our ‘sales rep’ reassuring us. We told Ira that we wanted to save more money because we were not writing a check for money that wasn’t there, and let us know that the pre approval was good until the end of the month, and to stop back in when we had $2000 saved up because that’s what is needed as a down payment for a car. So we left and came back 2 weeks later to Active Auto Sales for a 3rd and final time, with the down payment that they told us was needed. We had a different sales rep named John, seemed like a nice guy but also pretty uninformed. He told us to pick a car (we hadn’t made any selections as the bank only approved certain ones). We then proceeded to test drive 2 cars that were significantly out of price range. After clarifying THERE IS ONLY A $2000 DOWNPAYMENT, they said there was minimal choices on the lot but they did have something that we could test drive that would work for our financials. We test drive a 2014 Elentra, enjoy the car and decide to move forward…. And that’s when we were told there would be $2800 down despite him telling us minutes earlier that this was within our budget. The team at Active Auto Sales including the owner then proceeded to tell me to write a bad check for the $800 that was not there… advising customers to commit fraud, and it seems the whole team at Active Auto is familiar with these practices. These people do not follow through on their word and are attempting to take advantage of young people. This establishment should be shut down!
Who in their right mind gives young adults instructions to write bad checks committing fraud!

Not to mention the racism conducted here, Ira said to my friend multiple times ‘think of me as your white adopted step dad’, it makes perfect sense too because that’s exactly what you would think of someone that tell you to commit fraud!

Horrible business model, taking advantage of young people.
Business is full of liars and thieves, nobody follows through on their word.
This is a very shady car dealership and it’s a miracle that they have been in business this long!

I've never been here or been to this state but it's charging me money off my debit card this place is that like hundreds of dollars that I can't afford to just give to somebody so I think it's pretty sad that they've been charging me money

Have known Ira for years, accommodating, knowledgeable.
I have referred many friends and family to him at Active. All have said a great experience dealing with Ira in helping pick out the perfect car.

Not a great experience with Ira. We've been shopping around to a few different dealers and doing our research on cars to get something safe and affordable. Ira told us basically zero about any of the cars we looked at except "It's a civic how can you go wrong" We inquired about the recalls on it (about 10) and he responded with "we can check" which he never did and never mentioned it again. Other dealers looked into that and let us know if they fixed the recalls or anything else about them. Ira - zero info. Told us nothing about any of the cars except 'this is nice'
We did our own research on any car we wanted to buy so it took time deciding. I don't know why Ira calls himself a salesman as he does no selling - other than filling our paperwork, his selling approach is lazy. Other dealers we've been to were informative and knew things about the cars on their lot. Ira seemed to know nothing about them. Just thinks if he jokes with you, you'll love him and buy a car.

It was obvious Ira was annoyed we didn't buy something on our first visit so he lost interest

Then he tells me as I was pulling out of the lot with no new car that my trade in didn't matter, same deal either way, "it's a wash for us" he said. So doesn't matter if you trade in or not, price is the same? Makes no sense. Yes, I had a small amt still due on my car but the remainder should be towards the price of the car. Even when I spoke to Dan (very nice, wish he was our sales person) he told me he didn't understand that either, made no sense to him as well. So then I call Ira, tell him we wanted to come in and decide on a car and he tells me our offer expired and we have to do the entire process all over again and see if it will work and if we still qualify. SERIOUSLY?

Dan also mentioned that they can do a better deal with us for lower monthly payments and they told Ira but Ira never told us. Was that even true or was that Dan wanting to make the deal that Ira didn't care about.

Ira is probably a nice guy at a party, but do your own research on cars, recalls and other very important information.

Ira was very nice and helped me so much. Made the car busting process very easy and was not pushy at all.
