Adams County Office For Aging reviews
6There are extremely helpful staff available at the Adams County Office of Aging
The workers are very helpful in any questions you have & if they aren't sure they will find answer from someone. They have resources available that most don't know about so if you have a question don't hesitate to stop by or call them.
Be warned: While there may be some very good and decent people here that genuinely care about elders, there are some desperate & very crafty ones (this is after all, a private company posing as a government agency) that have tried repeatedly over the years (unsuccessfully) to trick both my Mother and I into signing documents which would've allowed them to attach her home for anything they did & have access to all her financial records, bank account information and medical records for services she merely inquired if she were eligible for once or twice. They've pestered her about signing full disclosure papers for years. They lied to both her and I on the phone about their intentions and tried to trick, intimidate & coerce us into signing papers giving them unchecked access to all of my Mother's finances, real estate and even medical records! Interestingly, when her other family members were neglectful of her, stealing money from her and not looking after her (I've fully rectified this and she's now getting the love and care she deserves,) they didn't offer to help her unless she agreed to open up her records, house and finances to them. There's an agenda behind the scenes.
I called the police to do a welfare check on my uncle, they went he was fine, told me to call this place. I feel my Uncle is neglected by his son who has POA of him. They said there is nothing they can do. His son took him 2 I repeat 2 hotdogs for him to eat and didn't go in for I don't know how long. If they can't help and the police can't help who does one contact
Runs on a limited staff - they're very friendly though! Adams Co is limited in resources for nursing care.
