Advanced Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation reviews
17Dr. Avolio is great. The office and staff are terrible. The waiting room is usually packed full of people and the front desk has all of windows covered with paper so they don't have to deal with people. The billing department made a mistake, mailed out to the wrong address, the woman in the billing department began to basically complain and scold me. (They use pre filled out forms and had a 15 year old address, and I didn't "catch it") Stay away
Couldn't be more pleased with my care and treatment there. I wouldn't ho anywhere else.
Dr. Christiansen was rude and insulting. Very unprofessional. Implied laziness and inactivity were the obvious cause of knee pain for my mother and all other patients like her which to him were “a dime a dozen”. Only offered options after railing about the state of society thanks to Covid. Did not earn our confidence to think he may be in any way qualified to perform needed surgery. Would advise looking elsewhere.
The office staff are horrible. You get the run around because no one wants to take a phone call. They just pass you from one person to another and they want you to leave messages that are not returned.
Recently had surgery on my left hand (December) and right hand (February). Dr. McCulloch is my Doctor. He did a fantastic job. Could not be more pleased. Scars are almost non existent. Ashley, his nurse.was helpful, answered all my questions and actually called me back promptly if I had to leave a message. I used their ReHab facility and had Heather and Dana as my therapists. Both were wonderful. They were very caring and took an interest in my problem and were dedicated to helping me post surgery. Also, and this is very important, everything went of as scheduled. When my surgery was scheduled at a certain time, it went off on time. No waiting around on a gurney for hours because my surgery was bumped by another patient. Very efficient. I can't speak for anyone else but my experience was great. I think if you are respectful to the staff and doctors they will be respectful to you.
The kindness and respect for my time was fantastic. I'm not much of one for handling "helplessness" well and I felt so comfortable and cared for. Thank you all.
Terrible place. The staff is rude. The lady that took us back asked us why we was there? I said she has back pain and was in the Emergency Room recently. They think she has pinched nerves in her neck and causing some back pain. SHE SAID SO ARE WE HERE BECAUSE OF THE NECK OR THE BACK? And then walked out before I could say anything. She went into the hallway talking to KEVIN and told him what I said and he opened the door and said rude WE CAN ONLY LOOK AT ONE SO WHICH ONE HURTS MORE? They did do an x-ray on her and he gave her some muscle relaxers. He is also sending her to see a Different Doctor Thank God!
I would go to a veterinarian before I go back to that place. My cat gets taken care of better. Terrible place.
Met with the doctor at Advanced Orthopedics October 4th for a possible rotator cuff tear. The doctor wanted a MRI. The nurse said it would take two weeks for them to call to schedule the MRI she said they would call me to schedule. Never heard anything from them. I left a message at Advanced Ortho and no one returned my call. I had an appointment with my PCP and told them what was going on, they got the number for me to call to schedule the MRI. Finally had the MRI completed November 28tj, 8 weeks later! Waiting to hear the results it’s been a week.
KEVIN THIS DOESNT APPLY TO YOU FANTASTIC JOB THANK YOU BUT LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE REST OF THIS PLACE IVE BEEN CALLING AND CALLING AND CALLING AND NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE THAT YOU ARE IN PAIN THEY WILL NOT RETURN ANY CALLS THE WORST PLACE IVE EVER SEEN
I have been to three of the doctors in this practice, Dr. Welker, Dr. McCulloch, and Dr. Gibbons and I have been to every office in addition to having surgery several times at their hospital.
I have always been treated with respect and kindness.
No stars if I could!
Had surgery in 2017 with Dr. Avolio for a torn meniscus - which he assured me I’d be walking the next week after surgery because it’s such a breeze procedure. However, that was not the case for me, he completely dismissed my concerns after surgery regarding my pain with an arrogant attitude. After multiple doctor visits (AHN, UPMC, WVU, St. Claire, Cleveland Clinic) to find out what was wrong - I was left diagnosed with CRPS in my whole left now. Their opinions was that it was due to that fact either my tourniquet was left on too long or over pressurized during my surgery. I’m left in pain daily, with swelling and discoloration that will never go away - along with the tourniquet mark around my thigh years later.
Recently had a fall in which my pcp urged me to see this practice again for diagnosis but to see a different doctor. This time I saw Dr Welker whom once again treated with arrogance during my initial visit - assumed this injury could likely be CRPS also and brushed me off. He did not even examine my foot. He did order an MRI and gave me a walking boot. His staff called after my MRI and said my foot was fine. However my foot was still swollen and purple. He told them to tell me if it was still in pain to go see whomever diagnosed me with CRPS. I ended up taking my MRI disk to UPMC - they diagnosed me with a severe foot sprain and said I should have never been bearing weight on it. Also told me if I had continued walking on it and not got another opinion I would have been left with an unstable foot.
They were very caring and patient. Even when I had to be seen again right before leaving. My knee brace made the rest of my leg hurt.
Arrived for an appointment at 10: 40, with Dr. Christianson at the Vanadium road location, just to be told that I was not scheduled. Drove two hours, since I live out of town, and they would not see me or fit me in because they said they were too busy. Nurse came out and was very rude and condescending. Asked if I had an appointment card, no, because appointment made over the phone. Then basically said that I was lying and that I did not have an appointment. Really don't think I would drive two hours for the hell of it! Very unprofessional, very rude. Will never go back!
Expect at least an hour wait after scheduled appointment time (sometimes 2) and days and days for a response to any phone calls. Waiting for MRI results can not get ahold of any one to release results
Good luck making a phone call. The doctors that I have seen so far are wonderful but they should be responsible for their office staff. I have been on hold for 15 minutes
I would like to thank everyone at Advanced Orthpedics for their excellent care and recommend them highly! Thanks again everyone!
I had my ankle reconstruction done by Dr. Scheel, 14 pins and screws. No problems, wonderful caring surgeon. Highly recommend!
