Altland House Grill & Pub reviews
14I never had center square brewing until we went to snacktown brewfest. We met Aaron who was so knowledgeable about the product and enthusiastic about the beer. He was so nice and personable. We will definitely be visiting the brewery
We never had the opportunity to eat here, but the room we had was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable! Bathroom was modern but done well to blend in with the vintage of the inn.
Loved it.hadn't been there in years.it was great, good company too.the staff made it a very nice event. THANKS! Sheri
It is a bit pricey but the food is good. The wait staff could use more training on how to interact with patrons. It has good parking available. The place is great inside and nice sitting is available out. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would definitely return.
This was a last minute dinner decision for my friend and I. SO happy we did!
KC (Sunshine) was our server. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and his joy of describing dishes was such a pleasant change. The soup of the day was Seafood Corn Chowder. KC described the different ingredients and components of the soup and with his suggestion my friend and I both had a cup as appetizer. Glad we did, because it was awesome. The entire meal was delicious and beautifully presented.
KC was pleasant, personable and attentive throughout the meal.
I don't live in the area, but will definitely be returning again.and again!
Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience KC!

The perfect place to go for a romantic evening out. If you want a more low key evening, the lower bar restaurant is a great casual place where you can enjoy the same delicious food as above!
Or go-to place for a date night restaurant. We took another couple along. They were first timers but said they too would go back.
I love the sense of history, back to 1760, and 1790 as tavern. They are trying to push the wait- staff wages into a 20% tip. They should just wrap it into the food cost, no tip then. Food has always been great.
One of the oldest continously running taverns, this place has so much history. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. Service was spot on. Highly recommend the swordfish, the crab dip, the Brussel sprouts, the peach dessert, and a Caribbean peach drink.
Great experience, friendly greeting, smiles, polite, offered homemade chips w/ Parmesan and balsamic drizzle, while we made our lunch decisions. Our meal were perfect servings, salads and hamburgers were great. We finished w/ Apple Strudel served w/ scoop of vanilla ice cream. We’ll return and recommend to everyone. Also, the Altland House, 1763, is a very historic building and location. Plus part of the Lincoln highway. Near Hanover, Gettysburg, York and further Baltimore.
This was a charming place, with good food and prompt service. We ate in the lower level, which was more of a lounge, and had live music the night we were there.
First time here and it’s very underwhelming - there was a spider or fly frozen in the ice in my water, there was confusion on which waiter had our table so we sat for a good 15 minutes before getting to place an order for drinks (place was not busy at all). Restaurant was dirty, food and crumbs all over the floor. Food was mediocre at best- turtle soup lacked flavor (and was spilled all over the outside of the bowl and on the plate), crab cakes and blacked salmon okay but salmon was over cooked. For the price there are much better restaurants nearby. Not sure if it’s a staffing issue or what - would not recommend and will not be back.
Hostess and Waiter were great. Food is delicious packed with flavor. The music and style with history was comfortable.
Great food, super service, nice atmosphere a little cramped (but I'm a big guy and was at a little table lol). Would go there again for sure.
