Outstanding service, ambiance, and quality. This is the epitome of the hidden gem of a city neighborhood restaurant.

Welcoming place with a well designed outdoor dining area that still works after Covid peaked. Friendly staff, a smart menu and good food make the dining experience pleasant. BYOB is definitely a plus but now wines are also available.

Arguably the best Italian in Philly. Flavorful and creative pastas, appetizers and mains, with excellent, attentive service. Can get crowded in this relatively small restaurant, but it makes for a great, family-like atmosphere. Book ahead. The Calamari (grilled with a great sauce), Arugula and Crispy Brussel Sprouts are a must to start with. The Squid Ink Spaghettini and the Tortelloni are phenomenal. If you get no other pastas, these are the ones. The Crispy Gnocchi is very unique and delicious while the Risotto is rich without being heavy. The Veal Medallions dish is good, but I would again recommend having the Papardelle pasta with Ragu instead. Can't go wrong at Ambrosia, with great management and service.

Horrible service. Just say no to Ambrosia, food and service is better at Burrata. 20 minute plus wait past reservation time. They left two open tables for 2 sit empty because they were holding one for a party of 11 and one for a party of 9 whose reservations were 15-20 minutes after ours. All other tables around those tables were still waiting on food so more tables to combine with the empty ones wouldn’t be available for at least 30 minutes. We were told we could sit at one of the empty tables but would have to move so they could sit the larger parties with later reservations once enough tables opened that they could push them all together. Called an Uber and went to Burrata instead where we were seated immediately and treated so well. Just say no to Ambrosia, food and service is better at Burrata.

Hi All,

I visited this place after seeing its good ratings. However, in reality, it's not worth going to. The food is average. The reservation process is terrible, they are very careless; the staff in charge of reservations are very arrogant. Despite making an advance reservation, my friend and I were made to wait and were spoken to harshly. The place was overcrowded and noisy, making it impossible to hear what the person opposite you is saying. Our experience was very unpleasant. There is only one restroom, there was long line to use it. I do not recommend this place. Thank you.

Made a reservation weeks ahead for a birthday celebration, but this place did not seem to care. The seating we got was very awkward. We requested a seat against the wall but they insisted on keeping them empty while seating us in the middle where we were constantly bumped by everyone walking by.

We went ahead and order. The service was great despite the uncomfortable seating. I got the daily special pasta and daily special main dish, which is lamb. Both are great and I particularly like the lamb dish that you need to wrap with herbs and some kind of yogurt. Brussel sprouts and mussels seee also great for appetizers. The bread tasted quite burnt. The dining experience was not bad but nothing stood out. Due to their inability to accommodate customers reservation. I don’t think this place is worth coming back.

First time I’ve been here—heard so many good things about the food. Didn’t disappoint.
Service and atmosphere were amazing.

The best cacio e pepe I've had in Philadelphia. I also tried their tortellinis that are stuffed with mushroom, mascarpone and ricotta that I really liked but was a bit salty for me. The Pistachio Panna Cotta was the show stealer that almost made me forget how long I had to wait there to get a table on a Wednesday night!
Good cocktails as well.

Delicious Italian food and excellent service, but definitely expensive! The portions were quite small for the price and we were still hungry after dinner. The free bread and dip was amazing and we were happy they provided more when we asked. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was quite small so make sure to get a reservation especially for fridays and weekends!

I didn’t have a chance to take photos of our food, unfortunately. I was having lunch with my colleague and we got a chance to enjoy final warm days sitting outside.

For starters we had Grilled Artichokes and Grilled Octopus with potatoes. The starters were average. The octopus was too dry and chewy. As to artichokes - I don’t know why the dish is called artichokes, because I literally had a toast with 2 small slices of artichoke. It had a taste of ricotta spread, but not an artichoke.

For main we went with Mushroom Risotto and Crispy Gnocchi. The gnocchi were as crisp as deep fried. I wish the risotto would’ve been more tender.

The best part was the dessert:) the chocolate mousse was delicious and not very sweet. Loved it.

Do not expect this place as serving traditional Italian cousin. The food here is tailored to the local taste.

Amazing food and service! Absolutely loved everything we ate - from the table focaccia to the fantastic burrata with their homemade sourdough and special eggplant dip, our favorite was tortellini. Exquisite!

By the way, it says BYOB, but they have cocktails and wine on the menu. So come as you are. Would totally dine here again. (I thought some of these reviews might be friends and family and now I sound like one)

Absolutely amazing customer service and efficiency. My water cup never made it to half full and they were so friendly. Food was amazing and house made pasta was so incredible. Definitely recommending this place to everyone

Ambrosia is one of our favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. The food is all delicious and tastes homemade. Every dish is packed with unique flavor combinations. Best of all, it's a BYOB so we can always enjoy a nice bottle of wine without breaking the bank.

Ambrosia is a real hidden gem in Fitler Square!

George, the manager, was courteous and helpful. Menu is curated surprisingly well with successful flavor combinations and freshness. Beet salad with pistachios as an example. Great ambiance and service as well. Only gripe I had is that the mussels were practically tasteless… but still one of my favorite spots in Philly!

Amazing experience from beginning to end. I ordered the Papadelle and my wife ordered the branzino. I was surprised because Branzino normally comes out oily when cooked but this kitchen cooked it perfectly and the sides paired well. The servers were quick to attention when I asked for a refill. And we were given a complimentary dessert by the staff. 5 out of 5

One of the best Italian neighborhood restaurants in the Rittenhouse area. The food is on point and being BYOB also ensures that the price is almost always right! Highly recommended.
