I always have a great experience at this location the only thing I could complain about is the length of time it takes to receive your order.

No one should go here!
Had the worst service, and my lenses were not completed properly after asking and double checking with the staff 3 times. No fittings were done either to ensure the glasses were setup correctly. Ended up going to another place 3 months later to get what I wanted in the first place! Do yourself a favor and avoid this store!

I was actually going to stop by today and based on the reviews, that’s not happening!
Notice how the same response is given that mentions corporate. If that’s the manager responding then it is obvious that the manager should be doing some in house overhauling.
Sad to say, a potential customer now staying away.

Well went in tonight to get my glasses and they are wrong. So I have to go back tomorrow and retake my eye exam again. Hopefully someone gets it figured out.

I bought two pairs of glasses, and they are not usable. I wear bifocals, and distance script is perfect. I am unable to read with them. They were sent back to be remade, and remake is no better. I spent a lot of money and have been totally ripped off. You can do better elsewhere, trust me!

Im very disappointed in this location. Walk in and nobody welcomes me I have to say Hello to them. I feel like a burden when I go in or have questions. The lady told me that I was fine and did not need to come back in, but my contacts were incorrect and she told me I was fine. I am finding another place because I still do not have the correct contacts and I do not feel welcome and that it is a burden to help me. I wish I did not have to give any stars.

Edit: I spoke to the general manager at the store and she is clearing up the billing situation. That was my only complaint and I realize now that I should have called the store first before posting a negative review here. Everything else about my experience was perfectly fine, and no one at the store was the least bit rude (which is what some of the reviewers below said).

I wish I can give less than one star, I had awful experience with them. I had appointment at 4: 40 and I drove 45 minute do this appointment And I called them at 4: 35 and I told the lady in the phone that I see your place but there is crazy traffic in front of me and I will be late 2 min, so she put me on hold because she said she want to ask the doctor and my appointment was the last appointment they have and she said we are sorry the doctor can’t wait! I told her please tell the doctor I drove 45 min to this appointment and he can’t wait just 2 min. She said no he can’t at all and she was soo rude, I’m sorry mr.doctor your time is soo valuable but mine it’s not at all.

I have been going to America's Best for eye glasses for 20 years at both thier downtown Pittsburgh and McNight road locations. I have allways been pleased with the service and the price. I felt compelled to write this review because the ones I have read on line seam unfair.

Never have I had a bad experience. Instead I have allways experienced the best in customer service and quality. My name is Tom Prorok and I stand by my word. Thank you America's Best!

Today I visited the America’s best in the block northway mall. I was browsing for eyeglasses and had my exam at my normal eye doctor but I wanted to take advantage of the specials they have. I was greeted by The receptionist and she had me look around for some frames. As I was looking, a family Came in and said the glasses they got for the son weren’t right. It caught my attention because I want to know what kind of place I’m shopping in! The one girl employee went and got a manager and she came out right away asking what the problem was and how she could help. The family immediately became irate and was yelling at the manager who I believe her name was Stephanie. Stephanie calmly explained that the glasses were purchased a year ago and that she would have the doctor on staff check the prescription. They continued to yell and belittle this girl until the doctor came out. THEN the mother started screaming at her! And getting in her face! I have never seen people act so appalingly rude to people! Everyone in the store was watching and listening at that point. The manager offered to change them, pick new ones, have an exam, and such and explained that she could make them new ones one time and the mother continued to scream in her face.that manager was extremely calm and polite and handled the situation awesomely. Not once did I notice her losing her cool. Great job on hiring her! I didn’t purchase anything today because I was so upset after that encounter! I do plan on returning and purchasing from your store. You have excellent customer service! Kudos to you America’s best and Stephanie!

This place is a scam! If you only want one pair of their junk glasses, they tell you there's a $45 charge for the 5 second long eye exam. NOWHERE in the entire place is there a sign advising the customers, but there are at least 20 signs saying "free eye exam".

From start to finish, the experience was pleasant. Made the appointment and was able to get right in, when I arrived the Manager, Jen, greeted me and made sure that everything was taken care of with my paperwork. She followed up with me after my order came in and when I arrived too pick up my order, Jen again took care of me. Above and beyond for the mgmt staff!

Terrible customer service! Ordered contacts over a week ago and called today to check to see if the order was in. The worker proceeded to tell me how they had a shipment there and they did not open it yet. I asked if they would be doing that today and they told me we'll just call you when we have it. I asked if it would be later before they close and she had no idea. I don't understand why they could not simply check and give me a call back. Will not be ordering from there again.

Appalling displays of incompetence and rudeness all around, from the desk staff to the doctor.

I went in to replace a battered pair of glasses on 11/13/17. After an exam, I chose frames misleadingly marked at $70, was told that each lens in each pair required a separate $35 treatment, and ended up upsold to $315 for the two. I was further told not to bother with my insurance because the rep "knew that company" and that it wouldn't be worth it; I have since confirmed with the insurance agent that I could have received a discount of up to $120 per pair. This alone is reason enough to encourage others to avoid the establishment, but it gets much worse.

Two weeks later, the glasses came in. They were a ridiculously wrong prescription. I told the rep that I was disoriented, and he perfectly reasonably suggested that I take them home, start the next day fresh with them, and call back with any problems. I agreed to this, took them home, and noticed that the left lens was nearly twice as thick as the right. (Peculiar, since no eye exam I've ever had has shown a significant difference between my eyes.) I wore them the next morning for about two hours; they were extremely disorienting, made balance difficult, and caused a severe headache that would last three days.

I called the store, and was told that as they were a new prescription, I just needed to give my eyes time to adjust. It took twenty minutes on the phone (during which my call was dropped and I had to call back) to get them to agree to see me. This store, I feel I should mention, is a full hour's drive from my home. I brought my current glasses with me for comparison this time.

At the store, the rep was appallingly rude, and as I waited half an hour to see anyone, I overheard her discussing the situation with two of her colleagues, specifically complaining in colorful language that a friend of hers had left them a poor review after a similar experience to mine. Her colleagues seemed to be trying to talk her into behaving politely. If they had any success, I'd hate to meet her when they aren't around.

I was told repeatedly that the glasses were correct, that the prescription had been entered correctly, and that I just needed to let my eyes adjust to the funhouse floor experience I was dealing with. I was told that if they were incorrect at all, it must be because my eyesight had changed within the last two weeks. Eventually, I was taken back for a brief, automated eye test and to have my current glasses analyzed. It emerged that the prescription had been entered incorrectly, such that "axis 80/80" read "axis 80/8. " Despite the inconvenience, I accepted the solution and the lack of apology with good grace.

The rep then said she would order a replacement using the doctor's correct prescription. I was hesitant; I knew that my current glasses were, though about three years old, broadly the correct prescription. Foolishly, I accepted the advice of the rep and took the new prescription and the extra two weeks' wait.

Today, I went to pick up the new glasses. They were a ridiculously wrong prescription. I was given more of the same lines of nonsense as last time, including the absurd suggestion that my left eye had weakened significantly. Again, I see perfectly out of my three-year-old glasses; I was only replacing them because the frames had become bent. I refused point blank to "try them for a week, " and was eventually issued a refund. Now, I'm not the sort of person to complain on social media about a bad consumer experience, but this final part was so far over the limit, I had to tell the story.

Here's the kicker: they refused to refund the price of the exam because "the service had already been performed. "

Now, I don't much begrudge these charlatans their $45, but I was robbed, repeatedly lied to, and treated with remarkable rudeness and condescension. I lost four hours' worth of gasoline and six of productive time, and it will still be at least two weeks before I can get a competently measured and made pair of glasses. Don't get involved with these clowns.

Don't expect to get usable glasses for the advertised price. They hit you at the end with a chemical coating that if you don't get it you'll basically see double. They charge more then Sears optical and warby Parker! Both better options. Oh and the girl who can't get out of her office chair to do any thing is hands down the worst customer service rep I have ever dealt with. Don't try and contact me either America's best. I don't want to hear what you have to say. Your reviews show your consistent theme of really not caring.

Front desk staff in dire need of re-training or replacement. We dealt with a very condescending pregnant woman just last week, didn't catch her name unfortunately. Her attitude was appalling, she acted like she was rather inconvenienced by our presence and was doing us a favor by talking to us mere mortals and rescheduling our appointment. She got customer service backwards, we are not there to serve her, we are there so we get a service for the money we pay.

Best advice? Go someplace else. They completely screwed up my prescription last year. My eye dr.this year was appalled at how badly and is the only reason I found out. I'd thought for months the glare was just making my eyes worse. Nope. I tried calling to get it resolved and got absolutely nowhere with their corporate office.

We took our daughter here for an eye exam and eyeglass purchase. Making an appointment was easy to do on their website and we spent about an hour total at the store (including eye exam). There was a brief wait even with an appointment as there was a triage line to see the eye doctor for the exam early in the morning.

Sarah helped us and was awesome. She helped my daughter pick out a great set of frames. Prices on designer frames are extremely competitive and were literally 40% less than the previous private eye practice we used to go to. Prices were so good we bought a second pair. Now my daughter has an extra pair just in case and had a different style she can switch between.

They met and exceeded our expectations and we would definitely use them again in the future.
