I loved living at L13 the past two years! The ladies in the office are soo nice and helpful, the rent is very reasonable, and the apartments are the perfect size.

Anytime I had a maintenance request, it was taken care of quickly and with actual care. I am actually so sad I had to move to a different apartment this year, as the people at The Apartment Store aren’t like a lot of slum lords around here- they really care!

I think the location is great, as it is close enough to campus, but far enough that you get a break from the crazy. I would recommend living here to anyone!

I lived in Essex for two years and it was relatively uneventful. However, the negative experiences left an impact. Two that I never complained to the office about were the constant smell of weed and a loud dog barking all throughout the night- most nights a week. The events I complained about were: the laundry is credit card based, and my card info was stolen from the machine. It was a card I only used for laundry. The office ladies said they’d look into it but never got back to me about it. I fought through my credit card company and got my money back, but was always double checking the machines after that.

The next complaint I made was that the lease said something along the lines of no loud music, tv, or instruments that can disturb resident guests. And yet, the guy directly above me brought a drum set. I couldn’t have peace in my own apartment. The office said they’d see what they could do— they told the resident who I was and that I complained so he came banging on my door. While I understand not wanting to upset a resident and asking him to stop playing the drums, they upset me. It felt like his rent mattered more than mine. I considered moving back for a 3rd year— even reached out to them— but then chose against for reasons like I listed above.

I will say, I appreciated the extra locks and security of the building, that the office held packages so nothing could be stolen, and that the office staff was wonderful— even when they went about things in a way I wouldn’t personally agree with, they were always kind to me. The rent also couldn’t be beat.

While it was mostly fine, it really was an average apartment near campus, which is what I expected for the rent. After living in other apartments, I don’t think I’d live there again, but it isn’t the worst if you have to live there.

We barely made it a month before needing to move out as the carriage house building is boarderline uninhabitable.the hallways are filthy, the apartment was so disgusting we had to have professionals scrub mold off of the window sill.the bedroom ceiling leaked and caused mold, we were provided a dehumidifier and someone came to spray paint over the mold.all of the sinks clogged at once and it took 3 days to get someone to come look at them.not to mention the cockroaches that “live in the walls” (a direct quote from the exterminator). This apartment building is nothing short of disgusting, the other buildings are a bit better but not by much,
the landlords just don’t care.however there are some really amazing places and phenomenal landlords in the area!

This place is a double slandered apartment complex there are people living here with dogs bigger than my dog panther I'm not gonna mention any names becuase I know how it feels like to be with out a best friend they didn't even let us off with a warning there emmititly kicking us out for no reason becuase there are bigger dogs in these apartments my dog u can literally hold him with one hand and I've seen dogs walk in and out of here the size of a Miniature poney if u want the rules to follow for everyone this isn't the place to come

This was the worst place i’ve ever lived.the parking lot is full of potholes, it’s dirty, the people that live there are sketchy, it always smells weird, and they charge ridiculous prices for what you get.the washer and dryers are so small and you can’t use coins you have to use your card which then puts a 72 hour hold on your card so you can’t even use it.parking permits are also a ridiculous price.and the place gets infested with bees that eventually crawl into the complex, die inside, and they just leave the dead bees in the hall. DO NOT LIVE HERE ITS DISGUSTING!

Trash. People report you for everything. They're on your case for everything. I was eating lunch outside with my toddler and maintenance literally took the picnic table out 45 minutes later but can't fix my faucet that's been dripping for 5 months Absolute garbage

Do not sign a lease here. This building is outdated, dirty, and they don’t remove snow on weekends. My apartment has cockroaches, the laundry room is disgusting I wouldn’t wash my car mats in there let alone my clothing. If I could give negative stars I would. The parking lot full of pot holes tells the story. This place is an absolute dump save yourself time and money and go elsewhere.

I would like to say this may be the most mid pack place I have ever stayed in. The smell of goat cheese and must will never leave the halls and will leak into your room aswell. I cant elaborate to you how mid this dump is. This is the last place id want to take a treesh back to, after a party I usually just take them behind a dumpster and thats better than this shameful mid i have to sleep in. If you want a place with the aroma of goat cheese and swamp then this is place for you!

Very friendly staff, affordable apartments with lots of choices.apartments are very close to campus, grocery store and attractions.

I love renting through the apartment store! I've rented two different apartments through them and both have been perfect living situations. The ladies in the office/maintence are so sweet and are quick to respond to any questions or concerns! They are definetly landlords that will treat you like a person rather than just another tennant.

For a broke college student this is the best building and all the ladies down at the apartment store are so nice highly recommend

The apartment store is so very nice! When you move in they make it stress free and help you with as much as they can! They are also really understanding the staff have helped me so much and I have only been living their for about half a year! When I first moved in they give you the option to look at the apartment and that was awesome because you get to see what your getting into! The apartments are pretty nice as well! Sadly I do have to move in a couple of months but I made sure it’s still with the apartment store because without their help I don’t know what I would do! If I would have one thing to change it would be the hallways! They always smell bad sadly. I know it’s not anyones fault because it’s a mixture of everyone’s apartments and no one can make it clean in your apartment except the owner but that’s about the only think I would change! If you are thinking about moving I would really recommend looking in to moving here! I promise you won’t regret it

I like the location because of its closeness to the school. Highly recommended for both mobile and non-mobile students

They have been wonderful with my stay here. The love my boys, who enjoy seeing them everyday. The staff works great with you.

Everyone is extremely helpful, from the wonderful ladies who work at the office to the great people who work on maintenance issues. Issues are solved very quickly and efficiently.

Staff is really friendly and helpful. When I was getting meal kits delivered to the apartment they would call me the day it arrived to let me know about picking it up. The maintenence workers are also very helpful and quick to help fix any issues we may have.

The office ladies are really nice, they try their best to help with any issues. The rent is reasonable and their service is good.
The only complaint is the package delivery is not convenient, and no packages can be received during weekends for office is closed.

I have lived at the L13 building for the past year and then at the Essex building for the two before that and have already signed a lease for this upcoming year. The management is very quick when it comes to address problems and as soon as you need maintenance they are usually there within a few hours which is really nice. The apartment themselves I am currently in a two bedroom apartment and it has cathedral ceiling, it is a very spacious apartment with a full kitchen and island which is amazing. The WiFi that is included very rarely has problems and at certain time we are running at least 6 devices on the WiFi which is really amazing for the fact that the WiFi is included. Overall I think the apartment store l13 are good apartments and especially for college students they are amazing!

We had mold under our sink from a leak that was never fixed. Mold in the basement from a leak they were aware of which is why they put a dehumidifier down there and instructed us to always keep it running. They charged us an ridiculous price on carpet cleaning and took our entire security deposit. The apartment store in Indiana is terrible and their maintenance workers don’t really fix anything they remedy it for a moment.

I live in L13 and I love my apartment! Feels homey with a nice grassy area to hang out and take your dogs out:)
