Appalachian Trail Parking reviews
6 I drove up to Smith Gap Road and beyond, continued until we searched the area for the AT trail end and quickly found one parking spot.
The trail was about three feet wide filled with jagged rocks, miscellaneous flora and fauna, moss and tree roots. Great the trail is flat and gaps between rocks allows for quick foot placement.
Also a great place for hiking don't let the length scare you or mother nature.
Top of Blue Mountain. On Little Smith Gap Road. Parking for 4 or 5 vehicles. Also called Point Phillips Road. Easy access to the Appalachian Trail. Map to Wind Gap also there. Trail is very rocky and damp in spots. Enjoy.
Low traffic road. Plenty of space except for pleasantly nice weekend days.
Its a parking area with parking available to park a vehicle. After parking that vehicle, hike a section of the AT and park you but in nature.
Small packed earth lot with easy-immediate access to the Appalachian Trail
