Art City Vets & Urgent Care, Philadelphia PA

My Cookie had been to two previous vets. Art City Vets pinpointed the cause of her pain. I was there on the afternoon of 10/28. The Office Manager and all the office staff was so understanding. I had started a gofundme for my cat, but there was an issue connecting to their account. They put me on a payment schedule until I can straighten it out. I was mortified, but they assured me it would be ok. So happy Cookie received pain meds and antibiotics. I knew they would find the problem with Cookie. The best vets and staff in Philly. Dr. Aller certainly has made a difference in the neighborhood, when he opened this office. The time spent with my pet.

Art City Vets saw our cat for urgent care and did a great job taking care of her. It was easy getting an appointment and all off the staff were super helpful.

Used their emergency services a couple of times and the front desk staff is friendly, attentive, and quick to take you in. Very happy w/ the vets care. It is not in person at this time, you sit in the waiting room while your pet is examined. The in house pharmacy is a bonus too.

Very friendly, caring, and communicative about the prices and procedures. Would highly recommend.

Everyone was so kind and patient. I really appreciated putting Marie and I in a separate waiting area so she would be more comfortable. Staff is very knowledgeable and compassionate. Everyone was great, the receptionists who helped us get a separate area for Marie. The doctor was also so kind and double checked her paw after I told her I had more concerns Being patient and listening to my concerns. Previously I felt brushed off by vets. Here, I felt like everyone really listened to my concerns

The staff was kind and knowledgeable, and did a great job of addressing my concerns. I came in for an urgent care visit at the advice of my primary vet after an incident at home, the wait was about an hour (which was fine since there was no immediate concern), and the staff was great at communicating with me about the process and making me feel welcome.

I cannot recommend this practice highly enough! Dr Shafer is a cat whisperer. She obviously cares about her patients and the people who bring them. The whole practice is welcoming and professional. I had previously chosen a cat-only vet; but this office is so clean and cat-friendly that the dogs don’t matter. They even have special seating just for people with cats. Prices are reasonable and appointments are available. They also have extended urgent care hours. My high-maintenance problem kitty is now a model citizen thanks to their expert care.

I have a very fearful and challenging dog at the vet and the team at Art City is kind and understanding. They are also very responsive when you reach out to them. Would recommend for your vet care!

I felt like even though the staff had never met us before, they treated us and our dog like long-time patients. We felt like they cared about us more than other vet offices we've visited. We'd love to come back! Brandon was amazing in being gentle with our Shiba. The entire front desk staff and our doctor were outstanding as well! The quality of care we received

Art City Vets & Urgent Care was the best decision I made for my pet. They were very professional in handling my cats urgent care needs and understanding of my emotions. The clinic is efficient and clean and the vets and techs are all very personable. I would recommend this place to anyone in need of quality urgent veterinary care!

2 years ago they denied to give my dog metronidazole- The only medication at the time that made my dog active. Saying they were afraid of the effects. It turns out he needed the medicine for his liver shunt.

Amazing place when your pet is in need of urgent care. I took my cat there on a busy Saturday and she was seen within an hour. The entire staff down to reception were so genuinely caring. They were upfront about all costs and the doctor only ordered what tests were necessary for my cat. She and the vet tech explained everything very thoroughly to me and I felt so comfortable with my cat in their hands. I cannot say enough about how great they treated us. I am so grateful to them for getting my cat back on the mend. Highly recommend!

They are so wonderful and polite. I recommend them for any pet problems you have cause they really care. They move at your pace with everything. I love this place.

Art City Vets has been phenomenal with the care of Jude. We are beyond happy and grateful.flexibility and quality of care.

We took our dog Oliver to the Urgent Care at Art City Vets after he hurt his hind leg while playing catch this afternoon. They were able to get us in immediately. We were very worried about him.
The place is immaculate.
All of the people who work there are friendly and caring.
They brought Oliver back to see the doctor after a short wait. She called us within 15 minutes to give us her opinion, gave us options and asked how we’d like to proceed with his care.
We still have a way to go with his injury, but I feel confident that he got the best treatment available in the area! Thank you Dr. Tassoni and staff at Art City Vets!

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE!

Art City Vets (Dr Leah Tassoni, VMD) wrongfully coerced me into spending upwards of $4,000 on a full dental extraction for my cat. The surgery was fine, but it didn't solve the problem. Now they're saying she might have a tumor and I need CT scans and potentially rhinoplasty/chemotherapy. There was no apology, no admittance of wrongdoing, just a "hey while your checkbook is open.here is more we can do! " I was told I'd receive a call from management. After 24 hours, I reached out. I was told I'd be given a call in ten minutes. After two hours I reached out again. Still waiting to hear from a director. Customer service team is worse than Comcast. This company is based close to the heart of Philadelphia. Do yourself a favor and venture out of this city to find actual genuine veteranarians to take care of your loved ones. This place is legitamently a joke.

Dr. Edward Aller was Snickers’ - my beloved guinea pigs veterinarian. He cared deeply and tremendously about my sweet Snickers and was always so kind, compassionate and caring. He was willing to prescribe the necessary medication that he needed and Dr. Aller is a very warm and caring veterinarian.
I think it’s wonderful how they have urgent care hours in case of an urgent medical need.

Dr. Aller was there for us when we needed him, we emailed back and forth many times about Snickers’ care. The only suggestion that I have is they prefer communication via email for exotic animals and I wish they were more accessible via phone that way.

Dr. Aller called me when Snickers had an urgent need and he we communicated via phone. He came in person after Snickers sadly passed away from pneumonia, his staff was so kind and caring. They lit an electric candle in Snickers honor and sent me a beautiful hand written card that all of the staff signed and wrote heartfelt messages.

They truly care a lot about your pet and the most touching thing of all is when Snickers was painted in their mural at Art City Vets Wellness Center! So when you see that adorable guinea pig on their mural, that’s in honor of my Snickers. So incredibly kind and caring!

Edited: It’s been a little over a week since going in for urgent care and my dog is still severely anemic from losing so much blood. And when I reached out to see if a blood transfusion or medications were possible to treat the anemia, they suggested I take my dog to the ER or come in for euthanasia. I don’t know how many times I’ve mentioned that my dog’s body is in shock from the mold poisoning and that it’s impossible for me to carry her. And the response I received below is strange too. This is my review of my experience. I also got an email from the vet saying she didn’t appreciate my lack of gratitude for the services provided when I reached out for documentation to attest to my landlord that me and my dog were affected by the mold. Aside from the meds prescribed, a diagnosis was not provided and my dog left urgent care with blood still coming out of her nose and mouth. Aside from saying thank you multiple times while I was there with my dog in critical condition, it’s disturbing that this is the response.

I’m not sure how long urgent care waits are typically. My dog has a bad respiratory infection where she’s bleeding from her mouth and nose and we’ve been waiting for over an hour after they placed us in a waiting room. I just wish someone could have helped us sooner. We’re still waiting and we really just need some medication. But then again, I guess long wait times happen in Emergency Rooms too so IDK…

Thank you, Art City, for your warm and loving attention to me and my cat as I said goodbye to her. I can't speak highly enough about the care and concern you had for both Alice and me in her final moments.

My cat had what I thought was a life-threatening urinary blockage, on a Saturday afternoon. My usual vet was closed, but Art City Vets was open. They took my cat immediately, diagnosed and treated him - all with kindness to the cat and me. He had another flare-up a day or so later so back we came, and we were treated with the same high level of care. Truly grateful to Art City Vets.
