Got my wisdom tooth out, WORST pain I’ve ever had. After two weeks my mouth still hurts I still can’t eat solid food!

I had the worst experience. They extracted my top teeth Friday. I woke up, I was alone, and blood was starting to choke me. I moaned and people were walking up and down the hall laughing and joking, blood started pouring out my face all over my shirt. Finally someone came in and said oh my let me help you. She took the guaze out and blood just pour all over the front of me and she just took a guaze and slightly wiped my shirt and shoved more guaze in my face and said you're ready to go. I cried and was in so much pain. My face swelled so fast. I couldn't eat, drink, and barely breathe. I ended up in URGENT care the next day. URGENT care called an ambulance and had me rushed to Hershey Hospital. Everyone that came in contact with me could not believe that my entire face blew up! Eyes are completely black, my cheeks and lip swelled so bad, they were about to split. My face and mouth swelled so bad, it affected my breathing. The hospital literally thought that Artisan Smiles broke my nose or other facial bones. I have had teeth removed before and have never experienced this. I know so many people who had teeth just like mine and they had them all removed as well, and never experienced this trauma! The surgeon didn't have a care and had a bad demeanor. No introductions. No explanations. Literally, he said what town do you live in, I answered, and next thing I knew I was asleep. Woke up alone, and bleeding everywhere, then they wisk you out the door. No follow up appointment, nothing. Seriously, never going here again! I was told at Hershey that other oral surgeons don't like fixing another oral surgeons botched up work! And they said that my surgery was definitely too rough, and it has caused extreme trauma to my entire face! Please go elsewhere! Pics are day one-swollen face. Day 5- severe facial trauma, per medical doctors who have seen me since.

Don’t waste your time. I looked for a provider that participates with my dental insurance which is UPMC for employees. On my provider list it said that they were participating and on their website it said that they take all UPMC plans. Even calling their office they said that they were contracted with my plan.
Well guess what…. My husband wasted 2 hours of his day going there and the receptionist calls the insurance company with him present and then said “we don’t take your insurance”! What? Don’t bother! That is certainly no way to treat patients!

Set up an appointment, got there, they lied about the appointment and they said they wouldn't see me.

This place is alright… The staff is okay. They aren't really professional here. I came here for my braces and I wish I saw these reviews before coming here. We had an appointment at a certain time but wouldn't be called in until 30 minutes later. This has happened many times before too and I see other patients waiting for a long amount of time as well. I wouldnʼt recommend coming here. There are better places than this.

This is the worst place stay clear of this place worst customer service people don't know what their doing no management on site the orthodontist is never there. Terrible place! I had no choice but to leave one star they don't even deserve that.

They are committing Medicaid fraud. Your procedure is likely covered but they are billing under other codes ON PURPOSE so you have to pay out of pocket. It’s not your insurance. This place is committing FRAUD.

The staff at Artisan Smiles is very kind and informative, I had to have 3 teeth removed and I personally am afraid of needles the staff was great I had the procedure done with no problems and very little pain. As much as I hate the dentist I definitely would go back again and highly recommend them

The staff is nice and everyone was fine so was the procedure, the only thing was that they told me they had to cut my procedure into two appointments (i was getting my wisdom teeth out) because apparently i didn’t weight enough.i had to pay $$$ for the second appt.shortly after my sister goes to a different oral surgeon (she’s the same height and weight) and doesn’t pay anything and has all of her teeth taken out at once.they had me come in twice to charge me because my insurance only covered one visit.beware of this for those who go to get their teeth removed

Not a very professional place the doctor and dental staff are very nice but the front office people are not they called a day before my appointment told me i had to pay 398 on the appointment day called my insurance they told me they pre approved the work now 3 months later trying to get my money back filing a complaint with my insurance company so they can handle it never go back again

They try to scam Medicaid patients into paying out of pocket for procedures they know aren't necessary because of the shortage of options in the area.

These folks are rude, they extorted me for a price and then said OH Sorry cant see you. They should of made things very clear before i traveled all that way NOT NICE, YOU DIDNT TREAT ME WITH RESPECT AND I will not you. I see why they have 2 stars. RUDENESS and when I askd for a manger they said NO.

Their customer service is among some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. When they’re at the office, you feel welcomed. However, they aren’t there but two days a week…. Their phone etiquette is extremely terrible to say the least. Their weight times are preposterous.

Surgeons absolutely wonderful and that made me feel at ease and in good hands and as soon as I was fallen asleep I was awake! He didn’t rip or tear my gums and my healing process wasn't anywhere near as bad as what I thought it was going to be. Which was a huge weight off my shoulders considering that I was so terrified of how painful the aftermath was going to be and how I was going to get through it, but I did no problem. They provided me with excellent care and anyone who needs oral surgery should most definitely go there bc the place is the absolute best and worth the drive if not from the York area. I drove from Carlisle!

10/10 - would definitely go back. I’m really glad I didn’t look at the reviews before going because they’re honestly misleading. When I first arrived, I was a little taken-back & scared. My consult went fast and everyone was super friendly. I had never been put to sleep before and had SO many questions & everyone was more than happy to answer them. Surgery day came, I was taken back, hooked up & put under. Woke up & wasn’t woozy or in pain. I was given clear discharge/care instructions & knew I had to come back for my second extraction. Keep in mind all of my wisdom teeth were severely impacted. Both surgeries and recoveries went AMAZING. It seems like there’s a pattern of people with the negative reviews and type of people that were “Karen’s” in office. Literally so many people acting ridiculously rude. Don’t be a “Karen” & you wont have a problem. None of the workers are rude. I’m not sure why people always have to complain about something. I’m not sure why people take insurance issues out on the workers either, they’re literally just doing their job. Take my advice if you’re an open-minded person and go. (coming from someone who has extreme anxiety all around the board)

Have to say was a little nervous because of some of the other reviews but was very surprised everyone made the experience super easy very nice explaining everything in great detail I would definitely recommend Artisan smiles from the receptionist to assistants to the doctor just fabulous its not a perfect world by far we all fall short every single day it's just easier to blame everyone else then the person in the mirror. Thanks again always just be nice
