Good location (although I wish there was an Assi market in KOP), spacious parking lot, clean store with wide aisles, has a great selection of Asian groceries and pepared foods, whole fish and seafood. Inside is also a small beer/soju/makgeolli/sake corner, a bakery, a tea shop, BBQ chicken, and counter that serves Korean foods. They also have some latino and middle eastern offerings. The staff are always friendly and speak English just fine. It is my go to asian market and I 100% prefer it over HMart and the Washington Ave markets in Philly.
A little bit far from where I live but always go here. Big parking lot, I don't want to go to city for asian markets too crowded.
Great prices on produce, and a large selection of hard to find imported foods and ingredients.
My favorite supermarket to shop at. Amazing selection of imported products from all over East Asia with just about everything you'd want at your average local food market. The food court is a highlight as well, serving authentic dishes, bubble tea, and fresh baked goods.
This place should let one person to go around everyday all aisle to check product expired. I go there every week and couple times my wife bought an expired product and can’t return because know too late. If I get credit if I can find an expired product here, I am sure I can find not less than 5. Just saw again yesterday. Everybody should Head Up check expire day before buy.
They really cleaned this place up. And the employees are much more helpful than in the past.
I suppose their only real competitor is the H Mart. Both are comparable. The main differences:
Assi has a better selection of Indian and Mexican products and an excellent selection of prepared foods. It is also physically much bigger.
H Mart has slightly better quality produce, fish monger and butcher. It is also nominally cheaper.
Honestly, both are well worth the visit and have become our Go Tos for much of our needs
