Helpful. Kind workers. Thank god for this resource, they have so many programs and fun events for you to entertain yourself with. Don’t forget the music studio

I use to be a client there, they were very bias towards alot of young residents and they definitely have their favorites, they would kick you out for every small thing you do. If you argued with another kid they kick you out for the day because apparently the staff doesnt believe in conflict resolution so they kick you out so they dont have to deal with you anymore. When staff disrespect you and you check them/put them back in their place your banned for 2 weeks then have to have a sit down with the supervisor and come up with a safety plan so it doesn’t happen again even though the staff was the one who initiated the confrontation.

Issues with the zone:
1. Staff are always constantly complaining about other residents to staff members (Unprofessional)

2. They dont teach you valuable real life skills youll need in order to be an independent person
Such as:
Money Management
Résumé building
How to drive/get your prepped for your permit
Daily Cooking
Basic hygiene
Proper dining etiquette
How to find affordable housing
Affordability when shopping for a vehicle
Financing a vehicle Vs.out buying a vehicle
Applying for healthcare insurance
Basic grocery shopping
Investing money
Difference between renting/owning property/housing
How to file taxes/income taxes
Sex education
They dont teach you about Trade schools
How to build/gain good credit

3. When you ask for help from the staff that are paid to their job they ignore you or they’ll acknowledge you but walk away.

4. Staff are disrespectful towards residents staff dont get reprimanded for their own ignorance by their supervisors

5. They don't do referrals for you, even though some residents need outside agency help they tell you to do it on your own.

6. They don't believe in hiring Black therapists

7. They don't hire people of color or of different culture they stick to hiring white people only.

8. They dont have enough programming to support or provide programming to meet the residents requirements/expectations.

9. They have there favorites and play favoritism
