Austin Better Birth Midwifery

Jenn is an amazing midwife from the beginning to the end of care. This was my second home birth, but I had some unique medical circumstances that weren’t (knowingly) present with my first birth. Not only did Jenn have experience with my situation (and her knowledge is extensive and seasoned), but she also made sure I was visiting all the necessary specialists to keep my home birth as safe and risk free as possible.

My favorite aspect of Jenn (other than being personable with excellent bedside manner) was her encouragement to reach your own personal birthing goals. She was able to offer advice on standard medical approaches as well as holistic solutions to all the issues and concerns that arise during and after pregnancy.

I wish she could be my OB/GYN and pediatrician! Couldn’t have had a better experience!

Being my first pregnancy, I knew a little bit about what I did and did not want but I also needed to find a care team that I could trust to be real with me through the process. I interviewed several midwives in my area and felt like Jen offered the perfect balance of a hands-off approach while being a little more firm when it was more important. I felt informed but never pressured, and always safe in her care. We would definitely choose to work with Jen if we have a second baby. I feel like she was the right kind of energy for me to be around through this beautiful new experience. I wouldn’t have changed a thing?

I’m so grateful I had Jen for my first pregnancy. As a first time mom I went in with many anxieties and she was great at addressing them with ease. She’s very understanding, knowledgeable and supportive. My husband and I immediately felt comfortable with her. I highly recommend Jen to anyone looking for a midwife!

Best midwife ever! I was set to do a water birth at Austin birthing center when at 38 weeks they requested my C-section report from my 1st son 14 years ago and could not obtain it so ABC discontinued giving me their service. Even with hunting my OB down and speaking to him personally they still said no. Heartbroken, I found Jen and told her what happened and she happily took me in and 24 hours later after our first meet I went into labor! Talk about luck but it was Jen who was my lucky charm as she guided me through the process of birth, gave me great advice on how to deal with postpartum recovery and was ALWAYS committed and responsive to my calls and text. As a anxiety prone women, her gentleness and love for what she does gave me the best birth story I could have ever asked for. Don’t be dumb and go to any other place like I did, AUSTIN BETTER BIRTH MIDWIFERY IS THE BEST IN TOWN!

I started seeing Jennifer early in my first trimester after only one appointment with my OBGYN. I immediately new I preferred the relaxed and personal experience with a professional midwife. I always felt I was getting the best care for myself and my baby, never rushed, and always had my questions answered in a timely manner. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful team of ladies. Jennifer, Deondra and Drea were such a blessing to have at my birth, and their care, both pre-natal and post-partum, was the best I could've asked for.

I found Austin Better Birth late in my pregnancy. I had begun care with an ob practice and ended up leaving that practice when it became apparent that they and I disagreed about the fundamentals of my care. Jennifer graciously agreed to take me on after 32 weeks, and my only regret is not finding her and her wonderful team sooner.

Each of these amazing women has their own unique approach, and together they make an incredible team. From Jennifer's calm confident presence, to Deondra's kind strength, to Drea's warm encouragement, each one contributed to my birth and care in such meaningful ways. I truly cannot thank each one of these ladies enough.

If you're looking for a team of women to walk with you through your pregancy, to support you as you make the choices that are best for you and your baby, and to hold space as you bring your little one earthside, please consider this practice. They are all of this and more.

An additional plus: they are one of a only a few midwifery practices in town that offer home birth for twins!

Jenn and her team were amazing. I found Jenn mid pregnancy after making the decision to have a home water birth instead of a hospital birth. Jenn cared for me and baby through my 6th week post partum. As a first time mom, she offered a lot of support for every question I had and kept me at ease. My water birth was beautiful and went as planned. My baby girl is super healthy. Jenn has many resources to care for mamas and was always easy to reach. I am a first time mom and gave birth right in my living room as I always wanted. Thank you team!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Jen! Jen took over my care 20 weeks into my pregnancy when I firmly decided that a hospital birth wasn't the ideal setting for me going into my first birth. She was so warm and reassuring from the moment we met and both myself and my partner both felt every step of the way like she listened to our questions, concerns, and plans for our day with enthusiasm and care. She was a wealth of knowledge in preparing ourselves and my birth space to make it as comfortable and serene a day as possible.
My daughter arrived on a very cold January morning in 2018 and it was a long day with some surprises along the way, but the support and guidance we had from Jen and the way she allowed me to make each decision that felt best for my body made it such an empowering and beautiful experience and one where my daughter's papa bear was able to be so hands on and involved. After 13 hours of waiting and working, she arrived and Jen got us acquainted with the brand new person in our arms and made sure that we felt absolutely comfortable and prepared before she left us, also checking in often in the weeks and months following our final visit. The support was unparalleled and I owe the truly special experience I had meeting my daughter to Jen's guidance in so many ways. Every time I look around my daughter's room and remember how I got to meet her there, I think of Jen and how she helped make that possible. Thank you so much!

My experience was with midwife Jennifer Timbs. From the very first phone call she felt like the right person to guide me through my first pregnancy. She was patient, empathic, reassuring & funny! Aside from her bedside manner I never ever doubted her competency. My first visit I believe I had 45 questions (not an exaggeration) she answered them all! When it was go time she was there again to reassure & make sure medically everything was going according to plan, she let me listen to my body & we had a smooth delivery. She always made sure that I was prepared but not scared of all the possible outcomes at every stage and for any test. She did a few post delivery visits for me & baby & I WISH she was a pediatrician…I would never leave her! Love her & wish her all the best in ALL she does!

Jenn was my Midwife for two of my babies; both were water births. She went out of her way to make sure I had the births I wanted. I'm forever grateful for the care I got from her.

Wonderful experience 2 times! Caring, respectful, trustworthy midwife who answered my texts, calls, and concerns all in a timely manner. We were laughing while I was in labor, she was hands off when needed and hands on when needed. It was great having such trust and great outcomes with my provider for my two homebirths!
