Barcelona Wine Bar, Philadelphia PA

We love Barcelona but I had to knock off 1 star because of the wait. We always have a reservation when we come but there is always a wait. I'm not talking 10-15 minutes but 30-45+ minutes. I'm mentioning this in the hopes it can be addressed by management. Otherwise, the food, drinks, and service is excellent. Never had a tapas there I didn't enjoy and the food always comes out extremely quick.

A lovely establishment that trying to bring the Spanish experience to local Philly great audience, and they doing good, the location space, and service are great I have an issue with the menu it's not satisfying and the food quality needs improvement, everything on track but you could enhance the menu and food quality and the total value of the experience I see everything is overpriced the food and wine and the whole experience is overpriced and could be enhanced and more Spanish and Barcelonan.
Again great location and staff and an admirable experience could be much better.

I liked the vibe and service. Food I have had better but chef knows his way. Pork belly and mussels is must have.

This was my first visit. This restaurant has a nice vibe but the food was not very good. We had the labneh, scallops, beef empanadas and a cheese plate. Labneh was ok but not great. Beef empanadas were very salty with little flavor. I would go back but only for a drink, not the food. On the positive side, the server was very attentive.

It was tapas but they weren't small plates. A pitcher of sangria makes everything more enjoyable too.

Pretty good Spanish tapas restaurant. Calamari are great. Gambas al ajillo come without bread but you can order that separately and are becoming smaller and smaller each time we visit. The papas bravas were sub par.

Best food I’ve ever had. Was a slightly long wait with some food options done but we got in late so get there early!
Host, server, chefs, bartender all know what they are doing

Last night we had reservations for Barcelona Wine Bar at 7: 30. Upon arrival we knew it was gonna be a little bit of wait because there was a lot of people standing around the door. It was also raining outside. We went to the bar and ordered drinks but unfortunately we didn’t realize we would be waiting for 2 hours for our reservation. It seemed as though since it was raining they were putting people who had outdoor reservations in front of us. Never have I ever waited 2 hours for a reservation! We had to go up to the hostess stand 4 times and request how much longer because we were told we were next several times. So then, I decided to go up to other guests and asking them how long they had been waiting. Eventually some young gentlemen who worked there noticed and escalated our wait time a little and we were sat within 10 more minutes. We were sat two tables to the left of the hostess stand, it was great until the staff decided to plop an outdoor two top table right in the middle of the aisle behind my seat. It was ridiculous, every time food runners had to run food they were squeezing up against my my light blue peacoat. I had to move it on the back of my boyfriends chair. It was very claustrophobic now. I will give them that the food was amazing but I mean at this point I was starving I hadn’t eaten since lunch and it was now after 9pm. Also I’ll add our server was great. However, I would just like to throw this out there, if you are trying to impress a date, or family, do not bring them here and have it ruined by poor hosting skills.

Loved the small plate tapas and wine selection! The service was excellent. We were well attended not only by our server but several also managers. Atmosphere was great except for the overly loud music.

Atmosphere: 1/1: well-decorated wooden interiors with wine cellar visible to customers.
Service: 1/1: staff was genuine and welcoming.
Price: 1/1: Prices are average for Philly Tapas restaurant $7-$14 plates depending on vegetable vs meat plate
Food: 1/2: the food was nothing out of this world but overall good. The blistered shishito peppers are delicious and kinda taste like edamame. Queso a la plancha and croquetas de jamon were decent. Carrots we ordered were burnt/overcooked but waitress agreed and took them back without charging us for them. Their expresso martini is definitely worth trying.

Overall: 4/5: Cool tapas spot to check out with friends or go on a date.

Been a big fan and got to try brunch today! Jenn was amazing as well as my bartender who made me their fav version of espresso martini. Serrano Benedict was amazing and so was the Olive oil pancakes. Pricing is so reasonable and can’t wait to come back!

Excellent service and very good food. The waiter helped us a lot in choosing the dishes and also the delicious Sangria. Good atmosphere and very nice vibe, an excellent place to share in peace and eat delicious food. I would eat at the place again and recommend it Thank you for the service…

First time here, and was very impressed. We had a reservation and we seated quite quickly. Everything we had was delicious, Brussel sprouts were great and def a favorite as we saw a lot of them go by. The prices were great.
My mom is gluten free and was offered menu help and alternative fries to which she was surprised and delighted.
I will definitely be returning!

I was invited to attend my besties 40th birthday dinner and I had no clue what I was getting myself into (food wise).
I have never heard of Barcelona Wine Bar, so I didn't think much of it.
Well, behold another keeper for me!

Everything (A to Z) exceeded most of the restaurants I have checked out.

The dining experience was SUPERB!

A wonderful dining experience! The General Manager, Malcolm, provided a wonderful experience. Our server, Danielle, gave us perfect recommendations. We can’t wait to come back!

This place is so cute, the food is delicious and the outside dining area was perfect for our date night.

The pork belly was a bit tough but otherwise the food was good. It didn't really convey the relaxed tapas experience either but hey we aren't in Barcelona. Rushed in a typical American way, overpriced as well. They claim tapas are to be shared, well some dishes were hard to share as they were tiny portions. I had quite a different experience in Spain and I expected something similar from a restaurant claiming to emulate Catalan cuisine.
