Barclay Prime, Philadelphia PA

Had the pleasure of dining in at Barclay prime for my birthday. Upon arriving I was immediately struck with the elegant ambiance and promptly sat in the main dining room. Our server was attentive, friendly and created an inviting atmosphere making me feel comfortable and beyond taken care of. She made me feel as if I was the only one celebrating my birthday that night. The food was beyond what I could've expected! I started out with a wedge salad that was more than a generous portion as well as the salmon crudo. For my main I had the 5oz authentic kobe wagyu beef which was cooked perfectly, it exploded in my mouth with flavor, it was like eating steak flavored butter. The tator tots and asparagus side were super yummy. For dessert, the chocolate truffles and the banana pudding creme Brule were to die for! Throughout the evening I barely had to lift a finger, the service was wonderful. One of my take away moments of the evening was right before the main course arrived, our server was setting us up with fresh silverware and her statement "Since it's your birthday, you get the Porsche. " Honestly this was such a small act but made me feel super special, also one of the best steak knives I've ever used - not like the wagyu beef needs a super sharp knife anyway haha. Can't wait to return!

Two maybe too low but three is too high. I must say I was disappointed. Took some customers here August 29th and told them this is the best steakhouse in Philly. I have eaten here just 2 times before and they were special visits where everything was essentially perfect! This was not the case this time. I was not happy with the service. Both other times they made a big deal about the restaurant told us about the steaks and all in all just a better vibe. We even got to pick our own steak knives - they used to offer knives from all over the world and you could pick the one you wanted. I think they still do because we all got different knives but the waiter (Edward) did not say anything. He just gave us our knives. At the same time the popovers are to die for, and in fact the last time the waiter printed the recipe for me. Yet this time when I asked for another he made me feel uncomfortable. The last time they made a show of taking them out of the oven. I got the feeling we were not spending enough money but that said we spent $330 for 3 but I did not feel the value was there. The steaks were great but lots of places have great steaks. We ate at Voodoo Steak house in Vegas and the whole time I felt special and they were, (or at least acted) happy we were there spending money. I did not get that feeling at Barclay Prime this time I got the feeling I wish your were spending more money and not asking for an extra popover.

I went last night for my 25th birthday. Ambiance was great, waiter was great. Just a few things I didn’t agree with. I ordered a Caesar salad which was delicious. But when my main course came out, (I ordered a filet, shrimp, and creamed spinach and whipped potatoes as sides: sides very BLAND), I asked for the steak medium plus. On inspection, the steak was perfect, but as I dug in, it was very much cooked medium rare in the inside. No big deal, I asked someone else to take it back to get cooked a little longer. Now usually, when you have sides on your plate, they might bring out different sides for their mistake, which wasn’t done, no big deal, maybe they just don’t do that there. Steak comes out, no knife, no new sides so I’m waiting almost 10 minutes without being able to eat because I can’t cut into the steak. Finally I get my waiter and he brings me a knife promptly. I cut into the steak and it’s extremely tough on the outside, and would you guess, still very much medium rare on the inside! So at this point I’m kind of annoyed and I’m pretty much done eating. The waiter comes back and asks if everything was okay and I reply that the steak was still not cooked to my liking and I show him and he’s like I’m sorry, can I bring out another steak, but I don’t even have time for it because my boyfriend had plans following dinner. He asks if I want it wrapped up. Lol why would I want something wrapped up that I barely ate? I decline and we ask for the bill. Upon the bill arriving, the bill has the filet on it after half of it was sent back. I just don’t agree with that. I thought that we’d try to appease our guests a bit more than that. I don’t know if I’d be back. I don’t know how many times it takes to bring out the right temperature on a filet.

All and all food was good but for the drive and price you would expect better service for the price. Ruby Tuesday’s service I would compare it to and was looking for something special to enjoy a night out with the wife.

Truly unique! A steakhouse that stands out and really cuts away from the competition (pun intended). I had the pleasure of eating outside which In of itself was an experience as the calm air and the slight sound of the vibrant city were present. The service here was more than expected as I truly felt the brotherly love of the city (shout out to the main man JACK SON, I can tell he really enjoys being apart of the team there and I definitely appreciate his stellar service). Everyone’s favorite the food, phenomenal phenomenal! Everything here had a slight flare that differentiated it from the rest. Every masterpiece was a different journey and I was so pleased to have been through multiple journeys. The cheesesteak was wow I feel like everyone in there life needs to try it as the flavors were truly one of a kind, it’s really that simple. My only complaint is that I could not eat any more grrr! I will most certainly make this a must do in my times in philly and you should as well. Thank you to the chef and the amazing team over at Barclay Prime phenomenal!

Great service. Food was good. Prices are ridiculous though for what you get.
Definately not worth the price.

Barclay prime was a nice experience that could have been a great one. First off, All the food was fantastic. Steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were very good. The service was just okay. We had to wait, just sitting at the table for about 10 minutes before we were even asked for drinks. Then those drinks took another 10 minutes to get there. During our meal, our water carafe sat empty for 10 more until eventually I asked for it to be filled. Overall, a hour and a half meal took almost 2.5 hours. It wasn’t busy at all, as we went early to avoid crowds. Most of the tables were empty. This isn’t a huge deal, but if I’m spending the type of money you drop at a place like this, I expect quick courteous service.

Maro, thank you for making my best friend and my night so memorable! Service, suggestions, picture taking and more - you aced it. We will be back to request you.

Wife and I had dinner here last night, we have dined at every upscale resteraunt in the city. This was far and away the best! Food was fantastic along with great service! We will be back.

Of all the things, the tuna tartare was soooo memorable, so delicious! I will come back repeatedly for the tuna tartare. The lobster was just so perfect as well! The ambiance, service, food, all superb! Nothing disappointing about my dinner there.

Had a late dinner last night, walk in with no reservations. Boyfriend had the cheese steak which was incredibly indulgent, I had the 8 ounce filet mignon, we shared truffle mac & cheese, tater tot‘s, the espresso cocktail and cheesecake. Delicious! And don’t get me started on the gruyere popovers - outstanding.

Our server Erin was delightful, the vibe was on point for a Wednesday night and we will be back soon.

Sat at the bar alone. Steak was top tier and service was great. Definitely bringing a date back here next time.

Fantastic seafood platter and porterhouse. The outdoor seating was comfortable and nicely styled. Service was accommodating and pleasant. Will definitely be back!

The food and service were excellent. They could change the outside chairs but overall very pleased. Great pre birthday dinner.

This place is awesome. The staff is very attentive without being a bother. The food was all it was advertised to be. Delicious. The lighting was a little dim for me but elegant.
