I love their Free Saturday Public Boating from April-October from 11 am - 3 pm! No problem parking and you have to sign a waiver once each year for the season. I’m so grateful for all the volunteers who make it possible to borrow the boats/kayaks, stay safe, and have fun. Even more impressed that they have a photographer to take pictures of your group!

A magical place nestled on the banks of our beloved Schuylkill in Southwest Philly. Southwest is the Southbest!

My new favorite place. A beautiful escape from the city yet still in the city. They offer times to go out in a rowboat or kayak, fishing, and a number of fun events.

Surprisingly calm place (so close to Philadelphia) to go kayaking for free on Saturdays. All you have to do to row or kayak is quickly sign a waiver and take a second to talk about safety. The people that work there are volunteers, and they always seem nice! Get there early so you dont have to stand in a line to sign the waiver!

Fascinating historical home and grounds filled with native north American species. The boat basin is a good time on flat calm water and rentals ARE FREE ON SATURDAYS!
