I can't recommend enough the Battlefield B&B. I wanted to take my wife to a cozy winter's get-away in Gettysburg to both celebrate her birthday and, as history buffs, engage us in the town's important past. We couldn't have made a better choice. We stayed for two nights and three days at this charming, unique well-run B&B that's perfectly situated minutes from downtown Gettysburg and all of the town's major attractions. We chose this B&B in part because their website says they are a "premiere pet-friendly lodging option, " and that's an understatement. The entire staff was so kind and friendly to our pup, providing a seemingly endless supply of special treats (including scrambled eggs when she joined us for breakfast). She had a great time walking with us along the property's beautiful and well-marked hiking trails and playing in the huge, enclosed dog park. We stayed in the stand-alone Tack Room, with its very comfy king size bed and luxurious bathroom. But really it's the people running the B&B that really makes it exceptional. A big shout-out to the affable JD, who greeted us upon our early afternoon arrival and shared the history of the property before showing us to our room. The breakfasts were delicious and there's always free coffee and tea and snacks available in the beautiful main house. For us, the B&B's secret sauce is the free history program given every morning after breakfast by local experts on a wide range of Gettysburg-related topics. On our first morning, Gerry Eak's fascinating illustrated talk was one of many he has prepared, this one about the vital role of the countless civilians who were caught up in the three-day battle. And on our second morning, Stephen Gunlock's talk was presented in full general's uniform with a dozen absolutely fascinating brilliantly-told stories, which continued well after the allotted time; we would have asked him-and he would have loved-to keep going, but we had to check out at the appointed time (though JD never made us feel rushed). We really enjoyed the Inn, which was lovely in winter and from pictures we know that it is stunning in spring, summer and fall. It's only an hour from our home, and with so much to see and do in Gettysburg, we look forward to coming back again and again.

The Battlefield Bed and Breakfast is a hidden gem in Gettysburg PA. The staff are extremely friendly and make you feel at home immediately once you arrive. We were blown away by the history and well maintained property. Each room and suite are themed for different generals and people who stayed on the property during the war. You have access to all 30 acres of land with various trails and areas to explore. The property is dog friendly with a fenced in acre dog park, and rescue horses on the property. The location is a quick convenient drive to all the battlefields and the historic downtown of Gettysburg. The breakfast was amazing.we had a full omelette, breakfast potatoes, fruit, and a homemade muffin. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay, and already are planning our next trip with our family and dog.

This place was incredible! We stayed here for our first time, and they exceeded all our expectations. The swan cottage was just beautiful. Everyone was welcoming & extremely helpful. We had a little one with us, and I never felt like he wasn’t welcomed either. They gave us a booster for the cottage, highchair for when we ate at the Inn, and just anything you could think of. The breakfast was incredible. So much variety. The historian was very knowledgeable & such a great experience as well. Tons of cats and horses for your little ones to be obsessed. The location is amazing as well everything was very close. We had an issue with our shower while we were there, and they had it fixed within a day at our convenience. Overall amazing service Thank you again for such a great stay!

The rooms were very clean and well decorated. There was everything you would expect and then more like fresh made cookies. The staff was welcoming. Breakfast was amazing. My wife and I had omelettes, bacon, some muffins, juice, coffee, etc. The historian Steve was very passionate and extremely knowledgeable and I only wish we had more time to spend with him. Definitely going to go back. Oh, and it was so quiet in the evening away from the hustle and bustle of the town.

My husband and I just got married here at the venue. We were so blessed to be able to get the availability on the wedding date we chose to celebrate our day. Connie was the greatest coordinator to work with. She was so much help and personable. Her staff was just as great as she is. We can't thank her enough. We will be recommending her venue to anyone who asking for recommendations. We love you Connie!

We were extremely pleased with our 4-night stay at the Battlefield B&B.
We wanted a location close to, or on the Battlefield, and this location fit that requirement. The barn had served as a battlefield hospital, and the grounds of the Inn are beautiful.
Breakfast every day was 5-stars, and the daily history presentations were outstanding! We enjoyed presentations by Michael Vice, Gerry Eak and Steve Gunlock, each presenting on different aspects of life before, during and after the battle.
The entire staff was always kind and courteous, willing to assist at every opportunity. Someone else wrote that all B&Bs will be judged against the Battlefield B&B, and that is so true!
A very special shout out to Steve Gunlock, whose enthusiasm to teach and impart the lessons of history is simply exceptional.
