Wow, very remote. We hiked and geocached here. 2 hours to parking on the "roads"

A rare treat for this area, a nice large bog. Great for birding, butterflies and plants. An out of the way spot that gets moderate visitors. There is a decent trail that can be quite wet that goes around it's perimeter. Detweiler Run and Alan Seeger Natural Areas are nearby for some more solitude and jaw-dropping beauty. Bear Meadows is quiet and peaceful with the sounds of birds and the breeze.

I like going in mid July to pick blueberries. It's also scenic with an easy trail at other times of the year.
