Berks Homes, Mohnton PA

I’ve worked for berks homes for over four years now I’ve worked my butt off everyday. I would do anything for Berks Homes because i dedicated my life to berks homes thinking this was gonna be my career. Unfortunately I do not see myself going much further with Berks Homes
As berks is growing, they’re caring less and less about their employees.

They finally opened up positions where I could apply for advancement in my career.when i sat down with my managers to discuss future advancement. I was completely lied to, and shut out. Ive never been so disrespected especially by a company where I literally gave my life to everyday.
They moved someone who’s been with berks less time and less experience one of the positions i was interested.
I’ve come to realize the only way you will be seen at Berks Homes is if you know someone in the office or one of the higher ups. It’s very unfortunate and very upsetting to be treated in a matter in which they did handle the situation.

I have a privacy issue in a private community with Berks Homes building a house next to mine. I asked them reasonably to make a small change to a window overlooking my yard and they wouldn’t even consider it and just lied about it.gave me all kinds of excuses. Who puts a big window right next to the shower and right above the toilet? Stupid design, Horrible company I’d stay away from them! Also I asked to talk to the GM (Jerry) and was told he wouldn’t even consider it before I even talked to him. And he was right.

They use the lowest bidders while building your home…. And it shows. The workmanship is poor.
Edit: my floor is still literally falling apart. Very sad. I will never use Berks again. I now have to replace the entire floor!

I can say without hesitation that I will never have Berks build a home for me again. The experience was terrible. Berks repeatedly failed to meet the terms of the contract while we met every term and condition. When we asked questions we often did not receive a response and if we did happen to get a response it was not truthful.

Do not sign a contract with Berks!

My husband and I built our first home with Berks last year and they could not have made the home buying process a more positive experience. Dontell and Jessica made every step of the purchasing and design process exciting and fun. When our son was born in April, Berks homes sent him a welcome to the world gift, too. The entire process went smoothly and brings back many happy memories. We are so glad we built with Berks!

Angie at the selection gallery was the best! She made what we thought would be the hardest part of building our house the easiest. She continued to offer her help by giving us advice and direction even after her part of process was done. We were directed to Brian Dejesus when things were not going as we were promised and he handled our concerns in a timely manor. He led us to Chastity who exceptionally handled all of our problems which helped put us at ease! We appreciate people like Angie, Brian and Chastity! They give top notch customer service.

I wish we never went with berks. 3 years into our home and our walls are cracking. Been fixed 4 times and it keeps happening. Garage needed to have a patch job because they slooped it incorrectly and now the floor is 2 colored. Driveway is a mess. Flooring continues to separate. This is our 2nd new home build and we never had issues with our first. Buyers beware.

STAY AWAY! We moved in back in July and our house was full of issues. We were told they would be addressed during orientation and zero day walkthrough but here we are 3 months later still waiting on things to be replaced and fixed. Steve is awful and should never work on new homes again. Very disorganized and try to rush putting houses up along with doing too many at once. They had the nerve to ask me to push up settlement to close by the end of the quarter when our house wasn’t even finished. Our house STILL has outstanding issues. Not to mention our yard is awful. They claim we all have the same seeded lawns but if you look at our house and a few next door who moved in few months before us it is totally different. You are better off paying for a decent builder than Berks. We will never build with them again. The only reason you guys even get one star is your warranty department. Aaron is great and actually communicates with us on when things will be fixed and done that should’ve been done three months ago. I think the “production” side uses warranty as a crutch to do quick shorty work and let warranty deal with the issues. Just stay away!
