Loretta and the gang of disgruntled old ladies here will not even let me make an appointment.
I have a professional referral from a PCP at St. Lukes who said I should call here. Loretta and the gang kept telling me things like- (In that old witchy Hamlet, MacBeth Shakespearean voice)

Witch 1: You need a diagnosis to see Dr. Kitei!
Witch 2: You need to tell me more because that's not good enough to see Dr. Kitei!
Witch 3: You have to call that number on the back of your card and ask them if you have NVA Vision or Spectera!
Witch 4: HISSSSSSSSS!

Crazy Loretta and the gang will go to any length to not accept new patients. They seem to be overpaid employees who have grown so chummy with Dr. Kitei and feel like they are equals going on a power trip and preventing him to see anyone they're not familiar with.

Crazy women work here. Not good enough to see a doctor here my behind. Wow.

Once you get to see a doctor, their work is great…. But they’re real time visits are pretty awful. Bring a book, play with your phone. Just know that they are never on time.

Scheduled to see the retina specialist for my macula degeneration and floaters in my right eye. After being there for 2 hours they told me the retina specialist won't be in for at least 1 week! Doctor told me the floaters in my eye are age related and they should go away in a few months, does not make any sense

Dr. Kitei is a great pediatric ophthalmologist. Very knowledgeable with appropriate recommendations. He was great with my son as well. The Lehigh Valley is very lucky to have him here.

I have been to see Dr. Badami for 3 visits including a laser surgery procedure and multiple visits to follow in the next 12 weeks. This review is of her and not Bethlehem Eye Associates office. Dr. Badami is very professional, thorough and caring. She has a very calm and re-assuring demeanor and makes you feel at ease. I trust her judgment and will continue to come to her. I feel confident with her care. I would recommend her 100%

I was charged as a new patient!
I have been seeing the doctor at Bethlehem Eye Associates since the 1990’s! Now they are charging me as a new patient so they can charge more money!
I called and I was told that if you haven’t been there in over a year, you are considered to be a NEW patient! I go every two years.
During The pandemic they didn’t want you going to doctor appointments unless it was an emergency!
Now they charge you extra for going for a regular eye exam.
I want to know how this is legal, or is it a scam?
It is really bad when doctors offices resort to scamming their patients!

Very disappointed in this practice!

Had a very unpleasant experience here. Dr. Rosati was condescending towards me and rushed me when we were checking lenses. He thought I was dumb that I could not tell the difference between the two lenses. He was about to give me a prescription based on ME telling him what my prescription was. I told him I wasn't exactly sure what my prescription was. I mean aren't you supposed to tell me what my prescription is? I didn't even bother to follow up with him as I will never go back to this location.

It is a large practice of 10 doctors. Too large for me. The waiting room felt a bit like a well ordered but very busy bus station. One step of the preliminary testing was done in a room where other people are waiting and seated. I had to request that the technician sanitise the equipment before I placed by eyes on the equipment, and she seemed bothered that I asked her to do something that should be automatically done between patients and had definitely not been done because I was watching for it to happen. The doctor himself was nice and friendly. I went to see him for a second opinion about cataracts. He added that I was a candidate to have surgery for my drooping eyelids and would be covered by insurance because it it not just cosmetic. Then he looked at my husband, who was there to accompany me and was not a patient, and said he could have the droopy eyelid surgery covered, too. (He did not say "droopy eyelid", but a medical term which I forget) It felt uncomfortable to me, that he was recommending options to both of us that I did not express any interest in.as if he were looking for things to do that would be covered by my health insurance. This made me feel uneasy. However, different strokes for different folks. He was personable and likeable, for sure, but did not instil confidence in me or my husband. However, I see that the majority of people really like Dr Alterman, so I admit that I might be very very hard to please. I waited some weeks before writing this and I still feel I would not return to this practice. I prefer smaller ones.

I would give a zero if that was a selection. I waited 2 hrs.for my appointment. No one offered to reschedule my appointment, nor explain why it was taking so long.
After two hours, they finally took me back to a room. Then I waited over 20 minutes waited in the exam chair. So, I walked out. They then treated me like I did something wrong.
The manager at the time was horrible. I called her on a Thursday afternoon to explain what happened to me on Wednesday afternoon. She never called me back. When I went to my rescheduled appointment, the manager was completely belligerent to me, stating they are short staffed.

I saw Michael Alterman, DO for a problem I was having in my right eye to make sure it wasn't anything serious. He was very thorough and assured me that my condition was not serious and prescribed some eye drops for me to try for dry eyes. Also recommended an over the counter eye lash cleaner. Very happy meeting him and I will see him in a month for a follow-up.

Dr Alterman quickly diagnosed my need for cataract surgery when I visited Bethlehem Eye Associates with a drooping left eyelid earlier this year. He described the current state of both of my eyes in manner that was very easy to understand, and presented various corrective options without bias to any one course of action. All questions I asked about my options were answered to my satisfaction, allowing me to feel well informed and secure in my final choice.

I have since had cataract surgery on both eyes about two weeks apart, opting for multifocal lenses with laser assisted surgery (due to astigmatism in both eyes). The process was impressive in how quickly and professionally the surgery was completed. Dr. Alterman and his staff described each procedural step in advance, offering direction during the few instances my participation was required. I felt completely at ease.

Follow up appointments at Dr. Alterman’s office occurred the day after, one week after, and two weeks after to ensure the healing and adjustment process goes as expected. My right eye responded quickly and I am completely delighted with the outcome. Near, mid range and far vision are absolutely great with no correction necessary. Aside from needing readers for micro print (like you see on disclosure statements and pill bottles), right eye vision is excellent and worth every penny! The left eye has been a bit disappointing. While distance vision is acceptable, mid and near vision never achieved the quality of my right eye. After allowing plenty of time for healing and brain adjustment to my new lenses, Dr. Alterman performed additional tests. Although there is no positively identifiable reason for the left eye’s less than stellar performance, he is taking action and doing everything possible to see if we can improve vision in my left eye which will hopefully rival that of my right. I do have more astigmatism in my left eye which the laser could only partially correct. The left lens is slightly different than my right as there is some astigmatic correction built in. I hope I got that right. In any case, the lenses are not identical.

Bottom line is, Dr. Alterman has been there for me every step of the way and I am quite satisfied with his advice, professionalism, and commitment to my satisfaction with the outcome. I highly recommend him.

Took 6 weeks to get an appointment, parking lot and waiting room are cramped. Doctors are overbooked, prepare to wait LONG past you slotted appointment to be seen. Overall unhappy experience with location and staff.

On-line scheduling, receptionist, technician, and Dr. Alterman made my first eye exam in nearly 30 years a great experience.

Doctor Rosati is by far the best eye doctor I have ever experienced anywhere. His knowledge is superior. His ability to explain details and answer my questions, is the best I've ever seen. He's very patient detailed detailed thorough And meticulous And meticulous. Also Ms Wit, is extremely knowledgeable as well, at at choosing frames to fit your face, the best. Plus handling all details of fitting the frames and lenses correctly on my face.and making sure once they arrive they are perfect. She answered all of my questions.took time and patience and I wouldn't go to anyone else. These 2 professionals are the BEST I have ever seen anywhere in the Lehigh Valley and I'm very picky!
