BioLife Plasma Services reviews
18You schedule an appointment just for a donation and it is easily 2 1/2 hours plus. The system for brining people back into the beds is horrible and the staff is understaffed and moves unbelievably slow. Sometimes they just stand and talk when open beds are available. The whole place is inefficient I’ve had to leave from a Donation twice due to waiting for 90 min to get on a bed and I couldn’t spend 3 hours out of my day waiting to donate. Won’t recommend donating here unless you can chalk away 3 hours from your day.
The staff is very friendly, but whoever is managing needs to make some improvements. It is very understaffed right now. It takes way too long to get to a bed. There was a line around the whole room. It wasn't like this last year. Hire more staff members! Offer higher pay if that's what it takes! You are losing donators because of the long wait time.
Edit 7/2: they still have minimal staff. My appointment today was for 5pm. As of 6: 10 I am still waiting in line, with at least 10 more minutes until i can get stuck. I expected to be in and out of here by now, but this is going to be a 2-2.5 hour trip instead of 45 minutes. This is ridiculous.
Service is generally good, but it's still at least a 45-60 minute wait during off peak hours from the point you fill out your questionnaire to actually getting a stick.
For God’s sake someone at this center tell me what is the point of using the APP to make an appointment in advance when we must wait more than 1 and half hours in the line to just reach to the beds? Are you seriously kidding us? A 45-60 minutes task is taking more than 2 and half hours here, BE AWARE!
Staff is great. I can't understand how one person is doing all the screening while a wait in the lobby is extremely overpacked. Social distancing is not happening here at college bio life. I feel as though if you are under staffed than limit the amount of appointments being made. I have a job and can't spend 3 hours to donate. Telephone is constantly ringing while person has to stop screening to answer the phone. Temperature checks by same person screening. Pay someone just to do Temperature checks and answer phones.
It truly amazes me how they are constantly under staffed. How does the person that run that place not realize how much business they lose by not hiring more nurses. They have so much open space but never enough employees to actually get people in and out the door. Expect to wait at least an hour and before you ever actually donate.
I thought their services are amazing and very caring towards their donors. There has been some wait time, which make sense because they have limited the amount of booth for questionnaire and blood test to leave enough space between donors. They always have a great energy and asking us how we are feeling today and such. I had Dominique in responsible to stick the needle in my arm and she have done a great job, barely felt any pain. Thank you!
Every single employee at BioLife was as friendly and helpful as they come. It’s a a wonderful experience for a process some can find difficult and you can make great money helping people through the promotions.
Good morning,
I would like to file a complaint pertaining to Tyson the manager at the Deptford BioLife location. This gentleman who claimed to be the head manager who walked up to me when I was on the last two questions of the questionnaire. He told me I was not allowed to have earbuds in my ear while taking the questionnaire. I remove them immediately and ask him where does it say that. He pointed to a policy that stated please refrain from using headphones and cell phones. I did not have headphones or cell phones on me. I was not using headphones or cell phones. I explained to him that the sign does not say “do not use headphones or cell phones” then I continue to explain that I was not using headphones or cell phones during the questionnaire. He continue to argue with me and call me a difficult person which I am not, I am a 24 year member of the United States Air Force and I promise you I have more professionalism in my pinky then half of your employees do in your store, he called me names in a very slanderous and demeaning manner. I had Apple AirPod pro’s in my ear on transparency mode so I can hear everything around me without music. They are very expensive and I do not wish to put them in my pocket. I explain to him that I am not using them and he kept asking me “how do I know that? ” I explained to him, because I’m telling you this. I am not using any electronica device. They are simply in my ear for storage purposes. It is also none of your business. I am more than capable of having A conversation therefore what is the difference if I have an earpiece in or not? Granted he had an earpiece in the entire time which he denied having in his ear. He also had earpieces pieces in his ear and told me he didn’t have anything in his ear, then admits to having them in his ear. Refer to audio recording. He kicked me out after spending an hour and a half watching his employees Bumble through the new system, after I had to watch an employee employee named Sandra yell at three other employees in front of me, it is my understanding she was a visitor from another store and I thought that was completely unprofessional. You should never yell or correct or belittle another employee in front of customers yet that occurred several times in front of me. She also told another gentleman that he was stupid because he didn’t understand he was logged on to a computer.
When I asked to take my photo ID A made a peace sign and proceeded almost 30 minutes into the process when Sandra came up and said to me that was hands are not allowed in pictures. I gladly retook the picture but she said I was being difficult only because I asked to see policy where it said I can’t have my hand in the picture. How do I know if that’s policy or just her personal preference? Asking for policy is not being difficult, it’s holding people accountable for what they say. Not knowing the policy is not being difficult. I gladly re-took the picture.
Your manager and employees are completely unprofessional and I feel they do not understand their own policies because it states, please refrain from using; that is not the same as do not use and I was not using headphones or cell phones yet I was kicked out after wasting an hour and a half in a facility that was unprepared for A grand opening with individuals who are completely inappropriate, not trained and unprofessional.
The only professional employee there was a young lady named Eulalia. You could interview her for the real actions that occurred that day.
After I was done the questionnaire the gentleman still told me I could not have my earphones in the office either or while walking around the building and I’m just blown away that his preference got me kicked out of something that I’m trying to volunteer to do.
I presented my military ID, I am professional that works for the United States government dealing with a young immature and unprofessional individual that doesn’t understand his own policy and inflicted his will because he was offended that I had something in my ear that was not being used.
Editing my review because in the last month it's gotten significantly worse. Shire Corp keeps running massive new donor promotions which doesnt sound bad at first but what it means is that you face a wait of up to half an hour to even get screened and then after that well over an hour of standing in line for a bed as each new donor gets put at the front of the line so that every time a bed opens up there is almost certainly a new donor waiting for it while a line of almost a dozen returning donors hasn't moved for 45 minutes. The staff is still great and doing it's best but now you're almost guaranteed a 3 hour visit because instead of addressing the crippling understaffing issues or the limiting of beds that can be used because of covid restrictions the company has doubled down on getting even more donors into an already overfull pool of potential donors. Because of this I, and i assume other long time donors, are no longer able to fit the ever increasing schedule requirements for donating into their weeks.
They just sent me an email for $500 for 8 donations. Isn't that less than platinum status? The last time I was in there I waited over 2 hours and didn't even get to donate. When first checking in they promised that I would start donating after an hour. I had to leave to go get my kids. No compensation, no promise to be first the next day, no compensation and no remorse was given from any of the staff. Also, there was only 3-4 employees in the back where you donate while at least 6 from what I can remember stood in the front doing nothing. 1 star is also for the people should know how to poke ya. They have missed multiple times and even left bruises. Again, multiple times, not just once or twice. Multiple.
The staff are pretty great and very congenial. Unfortunately this center is extremely understaffed, I've never been to one so bare-bones before, and it can't keep up with the donation demand. Wait times are significant, with lines stretching around (which is not ideal in the current climate) and half the center's beds are not even being used. Hopefully they can get more positions filled so these issues can be addressed.
Have been waiting 4 two hrs in a line that has barely moved. Severely understaffed. Up your staff since you say u need plasma more than ever now. I wont be back
I usually go at 6am so the waits are not long. Through college it has been an easy way to make money with very little time commitment.
Everyone is very friendly and helps you out as much as they can. Very patient especially with me. Thanks everyone
Understaffed and it takes an hour to get a chair even with an appointment. I feel bad for the staff. They are always frustrated and get zero help. Terrible experience.
Everyone is always so friendly and ready to help with any issues you have. Never had any bad experiences with anyone there. I would never go anywhere else.
I have been donating plasma at this location for the past year and a half and the staff is incredibly friendly and personable. They are very good at what they do and extremely professional. I would recommend anybody I know to this place because of my great experience anytime I donate. They are great!
