Bog Turtle Brewery, Rising Sun MD

This place is wonderful! Warm, family friendly, and so inviting. We had a large party (11) and found Bog Turtle Brewery unexpectedly after enjoying the Zoo Lights at Plumpton Zoo. We fully expected to have to break up, but the owner pulled a table together so that we could all sit together. They had games for the kids (Connect 4, a video game machine, Jenga, etc.) that kept them busy and entertained. The food and drinks hit the spot (try the vanilla porter!), and the welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff made our night all the more special. As a group we don't have the chance to get together as often as we'd like due to geography. Having an experience like this meant more than I can say.

Our waitress never put our order in. We tried to get her attention and she sent another waitress over. That waitress was pleasant and said she must have forgot. We are local and wanted to like this place. We didn’t feel welcome

Good food, great service, and the best beer! Seltzer's, and slushies are a great plus as well!

Gotta say they have the comfiest bar seats of any brew pub! Staff was fab and friendly. Quick service. Good food and tasty dark beers (plural-yeah!). Hard to find during summer! Also loved the blood orange beer. Found this place by accident on way home from Port Deposit, MD in Rising Sun. Laid back, clean, and welcoming. Had fun stopping for a bite to eat.

I stopped into this local while visiting family in the area. I tried the six beer flight and while all of them were pretty good, the two that stood out as superior where the Rochambeau Red Ale and the exceptional Willy Loman Chocolate Stout. Very good beers. From their Sunday lunch menu, I had a special which was a grilled vegetable panini. This sandwich was worth the visit in any case. The wait staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and made sure I was taken care of. The building itself was a clean well kept venue. I would highly recommend a visit. Thanks!

Great place for beer and food! Nice atmosphere. Industrial, spacious, clean, comfortable. Great attentive service! Interesting array of events like live music, recurring specials (Mac&cheese, Burger night), trivia, bingo. We hit Mac&cheese night, and it was delicious. I'm not much of a beer person, but I enjoyed a blood orange blonde, recommended by our waitress. Food comes on disposable plates/bowls with disposable plasticware. Can't say for certain if I think this is good or bad. I'm somewhere in the middle. It seems a bit downscale and wasteful, but I imagine it is efficient and cost effective for them. Limited non-alcoholic beverage options.

The brewery is much bigger than it appears from outside. Very nice bar. My husband and I enjoyed sandwiches and beer on a hot Saturday evening. Staff was friendly and service was excellent. A year later and it's just as good!

My first time here.must say the staff was great, the food was delicious, and the music was awesome! I will be back!

I loved visiting the BTB. The management and waitress both were super friendly and constantly making sure we were okay. The food was amazing. I also loved the live music done by Brandon Yeagers. Definitely plan on going again!

Bog Turtle is a great place to visit no matter the time of day. With a full service kitchen in addition to the brewery, its an excellent place to stop in for lunch and a beer. They also have a multitude of evening entertainment throughout the week from music to trivia. With a strong selection of beers, hard seltzers, and a full food menu with apps and entrés, you'd be hard pressed to not find something that suits you. My favorite is the Cubano Panini, while my wife tries something new every time; the most recent being the Jerk Rockfish Bowl. I snuck a few bites and it was delicious as well. We also had a side of their boardwalk style fries with their house made Maryland fry sauce for dipping. Highly recommend stopping in if you have the chance.

Yeah, not great. The booze tasted of bog water, maybe that's how they got their name.
My glasses stunk like they were cleaned with a dirty dish rag.
They make their seltzers with ice cone flavoring - yeah grab some Walmart seltzer, get some cheap vodka, and some pump flavors and you can make seltzers like the big boys do. Ugh.
My IPA was wretched. Like a soggy tube sock soaked in skunked beer wrung into a glass with a pineapple rind for 'flavor. ' Not to mention the head on my 'beer' was the beer. It took 10 minutes for my drink to be anything but foam.
We waited for food but cancelled after 3 others got served who came in after us.
The atmosphere was good though. I think if they stepped up their beer and food game it could be ok.

The food is very creative and delicious. Shrimp grilled cheese with roasted red peppers was amazing. My husband and grandson enjoyed their steak burgers. The fries are some of the best we've ever had, especially with the huckleberry bbq sauce! They also offer wine and hard seltzers for non-beer drinkers.

Why did you switch the bread on the veggie flatbread? New bread isn’t even flatbread. Not happy

The most amazing food that I've had at any craft brewery! The grilled chicken sandwich was mouth watering. They have a great selection of beers to try of which I had a flight of 4. All good! Very charming interior and of course the servers were incredible! I definitely and highly recommend this craft brewery! Family friendly.

Beers are good. Food is very good. Atmosphere is really nice. Okay. The beers were nothing to write home about, but they were good. The food was really the highlight for me. I loved everything I put in my mouth and I wish I had the room to eat more. The atmosphere was also really nice, and the people were great. I will definitely be back.

Beautiful beer experience. The bartender was brilliant. I've had barkeeps that I didn't tip, barkeeps that I tipped, and now a barkeep who tipped me! Wow. Attentive, personal service. Even the men's bathrooms get in on the brewery theme! (Don't attempt to use the keg hole.) Bristol Witch keeps pace with the best NE IPAs. Bog Turtle will show how stupid your county is compared to Cecil. This brewery serves food, and good food.

I can't speak on the beer, as I don't drink. But I LOVE to eat! I went there to try their specials that were advertised online. The food was Amazing. We had the soft pretzel, chef board, BLT, and burratta and strawberry salad. The pretzel was cooked perfectly, with great dips (I personally Loved the cheeze). The chef board was a great variety with so many different flavors, a taste for anyone. The fruit and veggie in the salad and sandwich were so juicy and fresh. Great time, friendly servers, amazing food, and very reasonable prices. I have already recommended them to friends, and can't wait to go back.
